In a major sale stock, KALNAPECO and KALNAFERCO accepted offers to sell 25% of stock in each company to Vanukean Interests. The Ministry of Finance approved the plan last week, and sales of the stocks were concluded last night. Petrovan PLC is now a quarter owner of KALNAPECO, purchasing 10 Billion shares of KNP at a sum of 13 Billion KRB. Meanwhile, Minarco, a subsidiary of the Vanukean conglomerate Chemieman, has purchased 7.5 Billion shares at a sum of just under 9.3 Billion KRB. The Ministry of Finance in Kalistan reported that because these Vanukean interests had made such large purchases, the transaction fees had been waived, and the stock had been discounted by 2 percent, to offset the immediate increase in price that will be sparked by the sales of such a huge Block. At Press time, KNP was trading at 1.45 KRB a share, an increase since Nationalization of 19%, and in KNP, the stock trades at 1.56KRB a share, an increase of over 33% since December. As the word of the Vanukean purchases was released, domestic investors began flooding into the market, purchasing stocks on the open market. Experts are bullish on both stocks through the end of the year.
Following the announcements of the sales, the Foreign Minister announced that he was planning a snap trip to Vanuku to discuss resolving the country's historic grievances with Vanuku. The Foreign Minister said "The Vanukeans and our Government agree that it is time to put the past to rest. We will be traveling to Vanuku within the next few weeks to discuss re-establishing regular relations, as well as security matters around the globe. We do not have a definite agenda set, but this is something envoys will work out before we visit."
