RSMoK Artillery units standup after the Socialist Party purchased 54 155mm Howitzers from private manufacturers in Kalistan this spring. 

The Militia is booming again.  The Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan, being reformed last year, and charged with home defense while the regular Standing Force is rebuilt, fielded a regiment's worth of cannon in exercises across Kalistan last month.  The artillery drills were designed to train militia members to effectively fire these weapons, including correct and accurate fire, accurate spotting of targets, and advanced target assessment.  Artillery units also conducted "hip shoot" drills, where cannons are pulled up into a position, quick trenches are dug for the trails, the guns are laid and fired against dummy targets of opportunity.  The award for most accurate hipshoot, using gun bore sights, belongs to the India Battery of the third Battalion, who went from a stowed gun to target obliterated in 4 minutes and 38 seconds.

The Milita are rapidly regaining their old skills as one of the pre-eminent artillery forces in the world.  Meanwhile, the irregular Partisan infantry has graduated two full classes of recruits, and the ranks have filled to near historic levels, as militia members are beginning to specialize in their work.  Of the first class that we highlighted in this magazine, most of the unit was cashiered, mostly for failure to adapt.  Only 1 in 3 made it to the final weeks, and then, of that number less than half were picked up for full time service in the Militia as trainers.  Those remaining were offered the chance to pick up with the next recruit contingent, and nearly all of them made it through the second time.  But as this second class was going to begin specialization, only those who succeeded the first time would become trainers.  Those who graduated with the second class most often were assigned to either artillery or logistics.

Kalistan has completed KRS-61, christened "Little Amber", in May, and it joined the 52 and 57 at the northern Limit of the Straits soon afterward

On the High Seas, deployments of new Light Armored, Fast Attack craft continues as the war of words heats up with Lourenne.  LAFA squadrons, numbering 3 ships each, not number 27, and are scattered across the Ananto Straits, with 2 each North, East and South of Ananto.  Kalistan's Regular Navy, which consists of Three Ananto Class Destroyers, several spotter aircraft, and six tender ships has been deployed along the northern limit of the Straits, aimed at enforcing the closure of the straits against warships of other nations.  In addition, the fleet has been joined with five other naval warships from Lodamun, who sent the ships according to the provisions of the Kalistan-Lodamun Naval Cooperation Treaty.  Kalistan has ordered the LAFA squadrons to refrain from firing on all warships bearing the Lodamese Flag, and these ships have been deployed into Kalistan's old EEZ off shore from Mainland Kalistan.

Generally speaking, at this particular moment, the Militia is the Armed Forces of Kalistan, though it is expected that the Regular forces will soon be getting stood up across the Republic.
