MILONA - At the end of this hot summer season, a scandal has erupted with a bang, threatening to engulf the entire Istalian political system. It's a story of sex, money and power that is emerging from the investigation which prompted the arrest of Barbara Satta, the "Lady of the night" of the Istalian jet set. A name that for years orbited the worlds of film, fashion and television, dictating the rules of the Istalian nightlife and who today finds herself at the center of what can become one of the most serious scandals in the country's political history.
The investigation began after several young women, eventualy defying threats and intimidation, came forward to denounce what they had endured. Their testimonies opened a disturbing window into a hidden world that would soon take on national proportions. Satta is accused of exploitation of prostitution, including of minors, organizing red-light parties and a dense network of complicity that touches upon politics, business and entertainment, resulting in a multi-million lire business that allegedly involved politicians, managers, entertainment stars and well-known professionals. But the real breakthrough in the investigation came with the discovery of the key piece of evidence: a meticulously guarded black diary in which the entrepreneur wrote down everything.
Satta is accused of exploitation of prostitution, including of minors, organizing red-light parties and a dense network of complicity that touches upon politics, business and entertainment, resulting in a multi-million lire business that allegedly involved politicians, managers, entertainment stars and well-known professionals. Investigators found the key piece of evidence: a meticulously guarded black diary in which the entrepreneur wrote down everything.
According to leaked information, the diary contains hundreds of names: parliamentarians, local administrators, entrepreneurs, television hosts and even unsuspecting figures from the world of civil society and culture. Next to each name, raw details were revealed: which kind of girls they preferred, even specifying which girls, what "services" they requested, how much they paid and whether they had outstanding debts.
The requests were extreme: from hardcore role-playing games to group encounters, to humiliating or violent scenarios. Some clients even allegedly demanded girls as young as fifteen, lured with the promise of a modeling career and then dragged to parties fueled by alcohol and drugs. A source close to the investigation said that on more than one occasion, the girls were allegedly "prepared" for the evenings with cocaine and ecstasy pills, to make them more docile. But even "exchanges of favors" have emerged involving family members of some of the suspects, who had no qualms about obtaining contracts, financial and/or political favors, etc... involving in exchange their loved ones in the nightmare as well.
The political earthquake has already begun. Three MPs' name already emerged: two from the PSD and one from the PNL. There are also two regional councilors, one from the PNC and one from D&L. The most prominent name is Enrico Marazzani, right-hand man to the PSD congressional group leader, Davide Cinti. Marazzani, according to the diary, was reportedly among Satta's most frequent clients. And that's just the beginning: investigators speak of a long list that could shake half of Parliament.
The places of sin seem to have emerged from a decadent film. From the secure villas of Porto Aureo, where parties with dozens of guests were held and swimming pools transformed into open-air orgies, to the dream yachts rented for nighttime cruises off the Sapphire Coast, where the girls were brought on board with fake hostess contracts. And then the wild nights in Porto Aureo's nightlife and the most exclusive clubs on the Melfian Coast, with thousand-lire bottles of champagne poured in abundance, private tables transformed into "makeshift bedrooms" and bodyguards paid to "keep quiet". Some of the girls involved spoke of "traumatic experiences", of "clients who treated you like a toy" and of nights when, after being drugged, they no longer remembered anything.
The country is in shock. The initial reactions on social media have taken on the tone of a true moral revolt: on the one hand, morbid curiosity for the most scandalous details of the investigation, on the other, indignation at a story that touches the very heart of the institutions. Pressure on Head of Government Moccia is growing but is already immense, and the country is demanding answers and is expecting a strong stance in the coming days, while parties and political leaders are preparing urgent statements to limit the damage of a story that promises to be devastating.
Meanwhile, messages mixing religious fanaticism, conspiracy theories and delusional accusations have already appeared on dark web channels and among far-right online communities, which have become increasingly active and radicalized in recent years. They speak of "dark powers", "perverse plots" by the left and even satanic networks and international child trafficking: ideal material for fueling a climate of suspicion and anger.
The first political leader to break the silence and officially comment was Ruggero Martorana, Political Secretary of the Hosian Democratic Union, elected at the beginning of the year. He stated to reporters:
Quote:I am incredulous and deeply concerned. We are faced with a shocking case, which requires maximum clarity from the investigators. We hope that all responsibilities will be ascertained without any gray areas.
Other harsh words came also by the parlamentarian Francesca Pizzi, by now a leading figure of the most traditional wing of the UOD, who lunched a harsh political attack that touched also the traditional allies of the party:
Quote:This affair reflects the moral degradation into which our country has been dragged by decades of left-wing hegemony. They have imposed an ideology that has overwhelmed our principles. They have ridiculed the family, destroyed the sense of public morality and pushed people, especialy our youth, toward a lifestyle based solely on pleasure and permissiveness. But the responsible are not only among the left, but they are a lot also among parties at the opposition, that have supported this degeneration, parties that since the beginning promoted a dangerous liberatarian idea of society or that presented themself as the "soul" of the Istalian identity. We cannot no more ignore all this. When traditional values are dismantled, when a culture of permissiveness and moral relativism is preferred, the poisonous fruits are inevitable. This is proof of this!
These harsh words open a heated political front, while the investigation promises new, shocking revelations. Investigators, in fact, are convinced: "We've only scratched the surface". Satta's agenda still contains numerous prominent names waiting to emerge and if even half of the rumors were confirmed, Istalia would be facing an unprecedented scandal, capable of destroying political careers, compromising entire parties and overwhelming beloved celebrities.
