The picture that emerges is that of a widespread network, spanning all institutions and levels of politics, without distinction between men and women, national or local figures.

Public reaction was immediate and harsh. Social networks and digital platforms are seething: hashtags like #StatoCorrotto and #VergognaNazionale dominate trends, accompanied by spontaneous demonstrations in front of institutional buildings and party headquarters. On talkshows, intellectuals and commentators openly speak of a "moral collapse of the ruling class", denouncing how the culture of excess and complicity has overwhelmed every form of public responsibility. At the same time, political parties and forces are trying to distance themselves from the figures involved, emphasizing the need to ensure the judicial system remains in place, but citizens now seem disillusioned: distrust of institutions is reaching unprecedented levels.

As new searches and investigations are announced almost daily, Istalia today appears to be a country caught between anger and disillusionment. Trust in institutions, already undermined, seems on the verge of crumbling entirely. The image of the Imperial State seems really compromised and the coming days promise to be crucial.
