Anastasia was found innocent on corruption charges but still fined for second-degree involvement, the staffers all charged with embezzlement and corruption: that was a wild ride
Backdated: November 7, 5678
Spask, Lesnov. The justices of the Supreme Cooperative Court finally gathered one last time to give their sentencing concerning the corruption trial targeting the Tsarina and her staff, through their press spokesperson, the court found Tsarina Anastasia Alexanderova innocent on all charges but guilty of second-hand involvement with the fiasco for failing to properly check the history of the staff she hired alongside dismissing the requests of the Justice Commission until they were forced to raid royal offices and organize carrot on a stick operations through a cooperation with the NCB. For her second-hand involvement and lack of oversight, Anastasia was charged with 400 hours of community service and a 50 thousand NRB fine while her staff was found guilty of all charges. They were sentenced to 15 years of prison without parole alongside their assets being seized and redistributed according to their familial history and reparations to the communities that were affected by their embezzlement of confederal funds. Some Nadiyans speculated that the decision was expedited because of the recent fiasco that happened with Tsar Artemo, but the court's spokesperson refuted those accusations by saying, "The Supreme Cooperative Court and its Justices firmly deny any accusations of the trial being quickened because of the unprecedented spike of tension between Egelion and Nadiya. We, as the highest court of this land, are committed to delivering justice even if it involves taking down famous public figures from the government or the diarchy, and nobody on this planet has the right to try and interfere or denounce our proceedings unless we were actively violating and infringing on the rights of Nadiyan citizens. Furthermore, only Nadiyan citizens have the right to reject our rulings through the use of legal challenges, this means that no threat of military or economic action will make us stop an investigation for the sake of some egomaniacs across the globe." Shortly after the sentencing, the Tsarina was asked by a Vemest journalist about her thoughts, and replied with, "I'm relieved that the court finally delivered justice, and I thank them for upholding Nadiya's commitment to bringing any criminal to court even if they are a head of state like me. Also, I would like to apologize for the ruckus caused by my husband, which brought me a lot of shame to hear about the mess and damage he has done to the confederation's relationship with Egelion. For now, I will remain in Nadiya for the foreseeable future so I can be more active in my role as a member of the NGA and a representative of the constituents who lent me their trust to represent them in the nation's legislative body even tho some obnoxious nations believe that I shouldn't be tried for my involvements for this scandal, I fucked up and I'm humble enough to face the consequences and not shelter myself behind the made-up belief that I am somewhat holy or superior. Now, if you can excuse me, I have to do some community service. It was a joy speaking to everyone here."
