Cultural Protocol Updates
#11
Hello,

For the first time in 800+ years I would like to update Vanuku's cultural protocols.

This is my new proposal: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.p...lid=708727

This is the previous version: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.p...lid=627968

The major differences are that I have corrected some things that have changed over the years, like discrepancies in the history and in Jelbic culture. The history section and culture section have been greatly expanded to better explain Vanuku's context to players.

For the culture/ethnicity part it has mostly been adapted to which nations Vanuku recently had the most contact with, parts of the world it had less contact with obviously lost numbers on their expat populations. The language section has been adapted in a way to further decrease Vanukeaans, which has been an oppressed and rejected language within Vanuku for 1000+ years.

Religion wise the old TPC was renamed to the Augustan Church and the numbers were adjusted, modernisation/'northernfication' has been a big part of Vanuku's development in the last 1000 IC years, as such irreligious has moved to the top of the religion list. The other religion numbers were edited sparingly, to respect the work already put in there. There is a slight increase for the Aurorian Patriarchal Church as since the last CP there has been a Jelbic arch-patriarch from Wrnuke. Together with the other RP regarding the "Patriarchate of Augusta" a boost here felt justified.

It has not passed yet but by the time the discussion is done it will have.

Hello,

Do you have a reasoning for this very big change, this may be OOC reasoning or a collection of articles explaining this very drastic change in culture/population.

I'm mostly trying to return it to the way it was in 2019 back when it was the Solentian Republic. From what I remember, this is what it was like.

Hey there, just to let you know that you're asking for a huge change in the Solentian cultural protocol and that such changes require extensive roleplay to back them up, otherwise if we were to implement these changes right now they would wreck roleplay that happened from, say, 2020 to now which was based on the roleplay of the cultural protocol you're replacing.

Hello,

For now we will be denying this request as there has been no solid RP basis or reasoning for it to change this drastically.

I am proposing a new cultural protocol for Baeguk. The major shift I desire is to rename what is currently the Penru ethnicity into the "Alakasipti" Ethnicity. As it may be recalled, originally I coined the term "Penru" to fit within both Welsh and Evenki etymology to help with my cultural transition RP, as the Alakasipti/Penru people are a retcon of the earlier Draddwyr (Cymeric) people that once existed in Baeguk. Penru was primarily thought of initially as a place name based on the real life "Cymru", being concieved as the combination of the Welsh words Penn (mountaintop) and the suffix -mrogis (nation). The Evenki etymology (derived from Evenki "Bəje" (person, human) and "lamu" (sea, mass)) was sort of just shoehorned in to fit the cultural narrative of the transitionary period.

Now, however, with Alakasipti/Penru people more established as an independent culture divorced from any Cymerian influence, I believe that it would be more appropriate to adopt the native name. I've been RPing the Alakasipti for at least a century to use the endonym "Ələkəsipti" (элэкэсипты) or its plural "Ələkəsiptil", which means "First" or by extension "First people". I believe that it would be more representative of Alakasipti (Evenki) culture in-universe if the group were now to be called by their endonym.

I list some instances of RP using the term "Alakasipti" or "Alakasiptil" below:

Request to Port the CP.

I think I can recreate it from the Wikipedia, but I don't have access to edit the Cultures group

Here's the Wikipedia   https://particracy.fandom.com/wiki/Demog...f_Kalistan

I think this has changed since this time slightly, but mostly in the language and religion categories.

And I want to check to make sure that the cultures still reflect what is ingame cannon, but for the most part, I think this is sort of right, and if I can get access to the forum to put it in the right format, I think I can recreate this
