Cultural Protocol Updates
#31
(12-02-2025, 03:50 PM)TheNick Wrote: If you're interested in a southern cone nation, Tukarali is a nation based on Portuguese culture, often resembling Brazil.

Only a tiny portion of Brazil could even be considered Southern Cone... and you'd left the vast majority of cultures and population just excluding Argentina, not to mention Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.
I always wondered why Brazil was even part of the southern cone except for an accident in geography, though... it's like "nothing in common but looks prettier in the map"? =)
And culturally, Chile and Brasil just have absolutely nothing to do with each other so I couldn't play a Brazilian cultural protocol, even if I try to.
I mean not to even mention the geo differentiation just thanks to the Andes Mountains, but only the Humboldt current makes us so different from Brazil that it'd be impossible for me to manage. (Joke aside... If you come to Chile, beware of thinking it'd be a nice warm swimming in some beaches...=P)
Not to mention I don't speak a single word in Portuguese and that the majority of the Southern Cone speaks Spanish.
I can deal with English... more or less... strangely. (Considering Portuguese and Spanish are romance languages, and English is not).

So... in a future time, if ever comes the day you guys want to get rid of one of the protocols to include a southern cone one, let me know.

I still can do the Soccer thing, as external =)

Now that the old website is back up I would like to again submit this CP for approval:

http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.p...lid=708937

I tried doing it earlier but unfortunately that coincided with the game breaking down.

Okay, so since there was no real feedback on the production of Beluzia's new and final cultural protocol, I finally managed to push myself to write one. There is nothing new here compared to what I have had in mind for a couple of months now: a Manx culture, brewed up with a couple of Galicians, who fit perfectly in here, as a Celto-Latin combo, with an idea of historic context being something like Ireland, in terms of Luthorians slowly trying to erase the language and culture, but it still somehow survived and is being revived. Also, as this is my first attempt as writing a cultural protocol, I am ready and open for feedback on this, cause I want to make sure it looks good and not boring.

Quote:OVERVIEW
This protocol is depicting Beluzia as the last part of the so-called "Celdic Wall" of Celtic nations in Artania. In Beluzia's case, it is a Manx-inspired nation with some Latin spice added in, as a result of historic Selucian colonisation and the blend with local communities.

ETHNICITIES
Despite the long-lasting Luthorian colonisation and dominance in Beluzia, it wasn't enough to sweep away indigenous to the land Layellan (Manx) people, who have lived here for centuries, if not millenias. Layellans are the predominant ethnic group in Beluzia, yet Selucian (Latin) minorities still make up a significant amount of the population. Bailonans (Galician), as the name suggests come and live on the nation's Bailon Islands, where the ancestors of Selucian imperials colonisators escaped to survive the collapse of the colonial administration and Luthorian trials. The groups have blended in with the locals, forming a unique ethnic and linguistic group of both Selucian and Celdic nature. The presence of Luthorians and Darnussians as the nations neighbouring Beluzia, especially the former, can be traced back to their history of colonisers, merchants or others, who have visited once and never left afterwards.

» 79% Layellan (Manx)
» 9% Bailonans (Galician)
» 6% Luthorian (English)
» 2% Darnussian (German)
» 4% Other

LANGUAGES
Despite the Constitution of Beluzia describing Layellan (Manx) as the "national language", the Luthorian (English) language remains used by the majority of the nation, except for the Bailon Islands which speaks both Layellan and Bailonan (Galician) and the rural coastal areas of Beluzia, or lands damaged less by the Luthorian colonisation. Addtionally, closely to the northern and eastern borders of Beluzia it is possible to hear Fìor-Caldorian (Scottish), Darnusian (German) or Narik (Dutch) languages in the local households.

RELIGION
Beluzia, just like it's neighbours and culturally close nations is predominantly Hosian (Christian) nation, following a Luthoran (Protestant) branch of the Hosianism, influenced by the Luthorian missionaires. Aurorianists (Catholics) and non-religious citizens also make up a big chunk of the population, meanwhile a smaller group of Beluzians have stated that they follow Matthiasism (Baptism), a small denomination within the Luthoran branch of the Church.

» 68% Hosianism (Christianity)
→ 43% Luthoranism (Protestant)
→ 21% Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholic Church)
→ 4% Congregationalism (Nonconformist Protestant Church)
» 21% Non-religious
» 5% Matthiasism (Baptism)
» 2% Not stated
» 4% Other

NAMING
The majority of characters in Beluzia should have either Manx names, Galician names, Luthorian names or a combination of two of your choice. A smaller amount of characters could maintain names of the neighbouring nations, or other nations, as long as you can explain as to why that is possible.

Please create a Feedback thread for this special case, thanks for taking the task upon yourself. We're reviewing this internally too.

Sorry for the delay, we will approve the change; please post a copy of the new protocol under the culture thread section for Beluzia.

I dont know if this is the correct place, but I would like to request assesment of posibility of replacing Ainus in Utari Mosir
Seeing as Ainu language is on verge extinction (with two native speakers in 2008) and has no good resources for translation, the players in Utari Mosir have used Seko/Japanese instead. For this reason I propose we either replace Utari completly with Seko, or we find suitable alternative. As for alternatives I propose Uyghur (minor asian language) or Wolof (African language related to these of North Dovani)

Edit: For further discussion check my post here: https://forum.prtcy.com/thread-410-post-...ml#pid6149

@AdAstra and to @everyone,

as you have already correctly done, the way to go on CPs in our current game state is opening up a feedback topic under Lobby > Feedback. Players can then get a chance to provide feedback, oppose, suggest, the whole nine-yards.

Once you're confident you're good to go with a proposal, you can either make a request post on https://forum.prtcy.com/thread-320.html for mods to review or - preferably, at least for the time being - DM one of them on Discord to quickly review and approve.

Locking this thread as CPs and requests will move to https://prtcy.com/library/ in the near future and this topic will be archived.

I would like to request the above is adopted as the new cultural protocol of Solentia. For reference, here is the current cultural protocol: https://forum.prtcy.com/thread-298.html

I have not made any significant changes to the demographics of the country. The update primarily simplifies the document. I have renamed the Ashker group to "Solentian Turjak", in light of the changes to the culture of Utari Mosir (now Utaristan).

I opened a feedback thread on this last week, and received no response from anybody.
