Jalon Goldbloom, Prince of Sholemberg, Head of the Goldbloom Family:
Quote:Esteemed friends, the House of Goldbloom has an historic link with Canrille, and we trust the words and actions of Canrille. Therefore we hold very highly what HRM Emperor Maximilien just said. However, it's been also known that our family did not support the continuation of the Luthorian claim to the throne of our Homeland back in the time, leading us in a situation where we deem best fit to abstain in this vote.

Quote:Along similar lines with the Goldblooms, we shall abstain, as well. Both our noble houses share blood ties with both the OVs of Canrille and the OVAs of Luthori, but this is not our fight. And we certainly do not wish for it to become a greater conflict between all 4 of us.

During the many speeches the Emperor of the Jelbic Peoples, current Meleh of Beiteynu, and exiled King of Wrnuke, the part-Beiteynuese Wrntukai Banmek-Sntazed looks on with ever increasing anger. When the Emperor of Canrille speaks he is about to jump out of his seat but the older looking man next to him stops him and gives him a stern look. The monarch abides. For now. The interruption of Beidel seems to reassure the Jelbic though afterwards he turns to brooding once more.
It is at this point that, after some discussion at the door, another man is let in. The middle-aged man is dressed in a modest grey suit and wears a pin of a globe on fire, the sign of a follower of the Worldburner's teachings. He approaches the Emperor and hands him an envelope. Wrntukai looks at him bemused and reads it, raising his eyebrows as his eyes dart down the letter. He glares at the man in the suit and the two exchange some words. From a distance the man can be heard saying something about how "generous" this "offer" is. The Emperor can be heard muttering "extortion" as he reaches for a pen and signs the document. The man in the grey suit steps back and for a short moment addresses the room.
Ishmíl Strhosíék, Representative from the Ministry of Education & Culture of the Jelbic People's Soviet Republic of Wrnuke
Quote:Honoured guests, esteemed monarchs, gracious hosts, Yeudi brothers,
My name is Ishmíl Strhosíék, a Jelbic Yeudi, the acting Council of Ministers of the WJZR, that is the new democratic republic of Wrnuke, has put me in charge of the four of the Eight Gems currently on display in our great nation. The exiled monarch Wrntukai Banmek-Sntazed, as the current head of the Banmek-Sntazed family in his role as monarch of Beiteynu and Emperor of the Jelbic People's, has been recognised by our government as the owner of the four Gems..
He smiles for a moment before continuing.
..and we thank him for his great generosity by allowing them to remain on loan for an indefinite period in our great museum in Wiel.
With that the man nods at a few faces he knows and departs, as he passes through the doors a jubilant Jozef Beidel offers him an ice cream. He politely declines. With all these theatrics behind him the Jelbic monarch stands up. To the older people in the room he looks like the spitting image of his father, with slightly crazier eyes. With a bang on the table he starts to speak.
Emperor of the Jelbic Peoples Wrntukai II Banmek-Sntazed, Meleh of Beiteynu, sovereign of Barmenistan and Jelbe, defender of the Dual Monarchy, son of the Great Restorer
Quote:Enough is enough! I have sat here listening to insult after insult, though my thanks go to the wise people in this room, the Tzafrirs see through this charade and call it out for what it is. Likewise to the Arevs, good friends to my late father, who know what true wisdom is. And good Kunibert, a confidant and friend of my beloved, who knows nothing but loyalty to the good cause.
He takes a moment, trying to regain control of his anger. After a few seconds it passes.
But to you, Lourennaise monarch, to you I have a few stern words to say. You spit your vile racism here in this sacred room full of these honourable people. That the Jelbic culture and its understanding of nobility cannot protect this sacred land, these sacred people? One more glass of your sour wine and you are calling us backward barbarians who copulate with our horses. But no sir, that will not do, not here in this chamber. I will not have you slander my people, Jelbic and Yeudi. Lest I need to remind you that 700 years before your land was even colonised by the Selucians my forefathers were already conquering land off the Augustan Emperors? That we were unified and fighting our own colonisers before your culture even existed? You are like a young kitten barking at a lion!
Under my glorious father, the Great Restorer, we saw Beiteynu continue to prosper. Countless of treaties, reforms, the largest Empire the world has seen in a thousand years or more. All from the cooperation of Beiteynu and her Jelbic brethren. Majatrans we are, all united under one common goal: to find greatness together. All opposed to this one great evil: the colonisers. Luthorians have occupied large parts of this world, through commerce, conquest, and deceitful treachery. Now and here they are trying so again to occupy a part of another continent. I will die opposing colonialism, Majatra will remain for the Majatrans. This was my father's red line, this will remain my red line. Long live the Yeudi people, glory to Beiteynu, I will forever remain your faithful monarch. So faithful that right here, right now, I declare that I will abandon the faith of the Skyfather and the Great Light - I shall return to the Yeudi faith of my father.
With that last statement the exhausted monarch sits down, immediately reaching for a glass of whisky on the table. It is the elderly man next to him that rises to take the word for the Banmek-Sntazed family.
Prince Juhn Banmek-Sntazed, Representative of the House of Banmek-Sntazed
Quote:Honoured representatives, Your Majesties,
My name is Juhn of the house of Banmek-Sntazed, many in our family consider me the.. protector of our dynasty. While our monarchs reign some of us work on the history of our house and protect our interests elsewhere. I will admit I was never close to the late Emperor Bunjamín. To many of us he was an outsider. His grandfather had gone to Beiteynu, a fourth son to a cousin of a cousin of a previous King. There he, and his twin brother, found love with two Beiteynuese women. Those princelings converted to the faith of Beiteynu, adopted their customs, though also protecting their own, and raised their children bilingual and bicultural. The Emperor was the same with the good Wrntukai here, he let his son choose his own path but taught him everything he knew about his mother's and grandmother's culture and faith. Just now he has even once again adopted the faith of the Yeudi people, no foreign coloniser would ever dare to give that much for the people of Beiteynu.
Furthermore, the Emperor of Canrille insults the Jelbic culture and our rich and vibrant history and nobility, but His Imperial Majesty forgets one crucial part: the Yeudi are Jelbic. By calling us a culture inadequate, you are calling all of Beiteynu inadequate. A horrid statement and one I shall not soon forget. Much the same to returning a Gem to Beiteynu, was there not a reason these were sent away to safe places? The Luthorians know no bounds in their depravity. Just now my good cousin Wrntukai has signed an agreement assuring the four Eight Gems in Wrnuke remain in Wrnuke. Where they shall be visible for all to see and wonder at. Safely and securely, where greed and ambition cannot poison the minds of those around them.
Either way, I have spoken too long and too much. I look towards the representatives of the houses of Keshef and Benowitz as I cast this vote: the house of Banmek-Sntazed votes whole-heartedly in favour of our chosen son Wrntukai Banmek-Sntazed and expresses their great interest in seeing his beloved Theodora join his side.

His Royal Majesty, Emperor Maximillien V, of the House of Orléans-Vasser, Emperor of Canrille, Monarch of Lourenne, King of Kanjor, King of Alduria, King of the Rildanorians, Prince of Hutori and Kazulia:
Quote:Beautiful words by his majesty the Emperor of the Horses.
May I take a moment to join in the beautiful showcase of civility and upmost eloquence anyone has seen from his majesty. It is a beautiful thing to see our Majatran guests enthrall us in a history lesson of civility. We heard great and noble stories of conquest, of culture, and of deep regards of Yeudi ancestry.
Yet, it matters not. What was once a barbaric culture will suffer to remain one. The natural wild and the free open fields of green remain the proper location for the Jelbic peoples--not on the holy throne of Elior. It is not our place to bemoan or look down upon the cultures of this world, the Canrillaise of course remain an heir of Seluciae. However, it is important to note the great achievements and long-standing record of each here, instead of culture when considering the throne of Beiteynu.
While the jelbics rotted, spewing word-bile from their front openings, the rest of the modern world, such as Canrille, ushered in an era of peace and prosperity. While the jelbic peoples took interest in tending the furs of its animals, the Canrillaise invested in Beiteynu--making it the great hegemon of networks it is today. The Debuas and my ancestors have much weight in this holy conference, if not by culture then by ability, investment, and will that the jelbics naturally do not. I do not doubt the great prowess of the jelbic peoples, what I doubt is their ability to lead a modern, inter-connected empire that needs the upmost value for its institutions and its peoples.
We cannot see ourselves eye-to-eye with the horselords, for we believe they are too low from our sight of eye. However, as bringers of stability and peace, we understand and accept the will of this conclave and its meaning for the throne. There is power in the subtle. There is power in modernity. There is power in stability and in civility. We encourage the House of the Horse to embrace an ideology of progress and a culture fitting for the modern world lest becoming a burden for the rest of this conclave in the future and a threat to the heritage of Elior.
We thank and appreciate the meeting of leaders at this conclave. I take my leave, and along it, the will of Canrille.

Keshef House, North Seleya
Albeit the unprecedented comings and goings of this otherwise secret meeting, she sat there looking very much assuaged since Beidel's innocuous words. She had no beef with the Canrillaise and the Yeudi Diaspora of North Seleya had only dealings with them through the south. Beidel's words of the Neset, of protection, of prosperity, of access to the greater Seleyan continent echoed in her mind.
She heard the ramblings of the Horse Lords, who once galloped in Tukarali and beyond, until they had left for the sweeter lands of Majatra. She heard respect, but the Jelbic, just like the Canrillaise, felt distant to her.
For a moment, she envisioned a Thaller on the Throne of Yishelem; but the moment passed.
Quote:We abstain.
Kadiyot House, Beiteynu - Maria Kadiyot, Head of the Agaf, Nisrad of Yishelem, Homeland State of Beiteynu
She positively looked flabbergasted. Beidel's interruption, and the Jelbic speeches - Strhosíék's casual announcement that 4 of the 8 Gems would remain in Wiel made her blood boil. Fucking horse maniacs, she thought.
Quote:May the House of Orange-Villayn-Armstead reign over the Holy Land, once again.
Benowitz House, Central Artania
He looked troubled. He could not stomach that the OVAs had granted the Kadiyots 1 of the 8 Gems. It was simply not possible. How could they. After centuries. Hell, after thousands of years. Of trying to keep those things away. Didn't they understand? Did nobody understand?
His gaze fell upon Maria Kadiyot. The ancient visceral hatred rose, his eyes flashed. A murderous thunder.
He avoided looking at the Luthorian; that would be dealt with in the future.
Quote:May you burn in hell, Kadiyot.
Kadiyot House, Beiteynu - Maria Kadiyot, Head of the Agaf, Nisrad of Yishelem, Homeland State of Beiteynu
She looked at him, an air of supremacy from the ancient days adorning her eyes.
Quote:Must we keep repeating ourselves?
We told you Benowitz...
What is yours...
Will be ours.

His Highness, the Duke of Southpton, Luthorian Prime Minister.
Quote:Again, seriously? Yes, indeed.
It seems that the Jelbics have once again failed to protect the Yeudi people by throwing them into a War with some bleak chances of success.
This Conclave had stated its support for the King before. Yet, today, as the security of the Yeudi people is once again menaced. The House of Orange-Villayn hereby contests the Mandate given to the current King, Bunjamin and the House of Banmek-Sntazed, as they once again shown their unwillingness to protect the Yeudi people as they've claimed to do.
The Jelbics have failed.

OOC: After speaking with Lig, Kubs (and Mbites) we're keeping the post but picking it up in a couple of weeks or something. So the challenge remains (unless Lig rethinks it when the time comes) and we'll ICly assume it happened then.

OOC: @Kubrick, @Louis, @Nick, @Mbites you are more than welcome to abstain if you're not interested in this story. You can participate if you still control your houses and are currently playing in any nation. You just have to assume you're RPing in/from Yishelem with your respective houses.
(if you abstain I will assume context, i.e. Tzafrir will vehemently vote no regardless of whether Kubrick participates or not)

Henk-Jan-Jan-Jaap von Thaller, Head of the Main Branch
Quote:Esteemed members of the Conclave,
the cause of International Thallerism is a cause of anti-luthorian colonialism, we cannot in good conscience concede anything to those that subscribe to the barbaric subhuman institution that is the abomination of a Luthorian nation or culture. In the spirit of offering a hand and support to the many peoples of Majatra and their independence we are going to fundamentally reject this proposal. It serves as a last curse the damned members of the Kadiyot house wish to cast upon the ones they alledgedly swore to protect, we will not stand for this. Our most noble history in the defense of the sovereignty of all peoples of this world and their national pride hinders us from even considering this absurdity.
Instead we offer all sceptics such as ourselves an alternative, we need to cast a vote for those that never abuse their power, but always handle it with great care and for a purpose greater than themselves. No Yeudi hand shall ever have to move for the honor or sake of a decrepit monarch of a morally bankrupt nation such as Luthori.
The House Thaller casts it vote for the Goldblooms.

Robert Saint-Cyr de Thiers, Representative of the Orléans-Vasser Dynasty of The Empire of Canrille, The Beiteynuese Homeland, and the Kingdom of Egelion.
Quote:Your excellencies,
I stand here as representative of the Orléans-Vasser dynasty. A dynasty that currently exists in several countries in Terra as heads of state and as prominent nobles. We understand the severity of this event and would take this opportunity to present ourselves in this matter. While we have supported the Orange-Villayns before, His Majesty of Egelion, His Highness the Prince of Yishelem, and His Royal Majesty the Emperor Maximillian of Canrille, have all agreed before this meeting to not support any candidate sent forward.
Unless of course, the candidate is The Prince of Yishelem, Ezrafiel III of Orléans-Vasser-Elior. We believe this to be the only suitable candidate for the throne at this point thanks to ihis blood connection to Elias Ishmael and for his wonderful work for the preservation of the yeudi people. We understand the complication of assuming an Artanian house to the throne and we must not accept the cause. We put Ezrafiel III up to the throne, with support of the Debuas.
Otherwise, we abstain to any other vote. As God as our witness, may this be the will of the Orléans-Vasser dynasty and the new sense of direction for the Yeudi people.
