The Life of Xsampa; An Interview.

Xsampa remains a shining city in the hill for socialism in Dovani. After all, we are the only Proletariat state in Dovani that is standing strong, both against capitalism and imperialism. To the South lay Eugenics Red Fascists. To the East lay Imperialists. To our North lay humanitarians and to our east lay silence. Yet, this puts Xsampa into a unique spot. A unique culture, melded together with socialism. So our comrades in foreign nations often ask us this question; what is living in Xsampa like? The best answer to that, is to get your average Xsampan and ask them. Obviously Xsampan diaspora outside of Xsampa is rare. There are few communities outside Xsampa. This leaves the People's Committee of Information as the sole basis of information for Xsampan related affairs. So the task of describing Xsampan life falls to us. And to that end, we've asked the public for volunteers and found no shortage who are willing to share their life with the public, and to foreign comrades. Such an example is Comrade Palkyi. We've asked Comrade Palkyi to describe his life, his schedule and the like. 

Comrade Palkyi described it as this; He starts off his day in a comfortable house, shared with his husband, and heads off for work in the morning. Comrade Palkyi works at a local automobile factory in Dkarlakha. There he enjoys the fruits of his labour, where he is entitled to proper payment and representation in the automobile factory's Worker Council. Should he have any grievances, he can simply bring it up to the Council and it is addressed. After his shift is over, he enjoys the rest of his day in leisure with his family, engaging in his hobbies or enjoying what Dkarlakha offers, such as city parks.

Comrade Palkyi lives a life of contentment. He works for the good of not just Xsampa, but the good of his community. But he is not the only one interviewed. Comrade Sangey Lingpa is a student in Metz-Leonid State University, aspiring to become a nurse. As a student, she best described it as a mix of jovial, yet stressful. However, her stress comes from being a student, not from any financial woes. Due to generous efforts from the government, students such as Comrade Sangey are given financial support to help encourage them to remain enrolled and not just survive, but thrive. For Comrade Sangey, this has let her focus more on studying and also ensuring a social life is kept. A healthy work life balance. This has allowed her to both keep her study's in check, and also spend time with family and friends and enjoy life.

These are but only a few stories of Xsampans. While foreign despots may paint Xsampa as a desolate autocracy, rife with poverty and injustice, Xsampa is showing the world what the power of the Proletariat can do. Create an easier life for all, free of exploitation. Xsampa can show the world that a better way is available. But for our foreign comrades, this is just a taste of what Xsampan life is like. At least when it isn't at the peak of celebratory summers, such as Unification Day, May Day, Pride, or other summer celebrations. Most Xsampans live a life free of major woe. While removing every woe is impossible, efforts at removing what can be removed are done. Financial woes? The People's Committee of Human Development will help. Educational woes? The People's Committee of Education will help. While our enemies may decry this as wasteful spending, a healthy happy population is far more better than a miserable struggling one.

This is a call for a better Xsampa. This is a call for the creation of a better Xsampa. The PCI would want you to think that all is well. That all is fine. That Xsampa is fine as is. They are wrong. Our nation is not a haven for the Proletarian. It is not a workers paradise. It is an autocracy. An oligarchy of elites within the Party. They oppose democracy, they oppose freedom. They push our nation towards war for no reason. They indoctrinate and force propaganda upon our society. No more can this injustice be allowed. Xsampans, we must unite and bring down this dictatorship. A better Xsampa is available. A free democratic Xsampa. One where we never need to fear being a dissident. One where we can freely express opinions without censorship. A better world is possible, but we must erode the chains of tyranny. Xsampa can be freed and reach new heights. A democratic free Xsampa is possible. No more communist party, no more oppression, no more tyranny. Reject this tyranny, reject the Party, and we can create a better free Xsampa tomorrow.

Addressing the Broadcast Incident; "The status of reforms, and the question of liberalism must be brought into discussion once again."

Earlier this year, an incident occured. Dissidents illegally seized and conducted a radio broadcast spreading dissident ideals across the nation, and to the world at large. Fortunately, our allies have not spoken on it, and neither have our enemies. Comrades, this incident was isolated. The dissidents are apprehended, and being questioned. It would appear that the message they sought to spread was standard rhetoric for western capitalism. The people of Xsampa were insulted, and treated as if they were brainwashed. The Party was insulted, and the nation was insulted. To say this incident was an attack to Xsampan pride is the least that can be said. Now however, we must deal with the aftermath. Comrade Wangchen has chosen to address various concerns.

Comrades.

It's without saying that the recent Broadcast Incident has left our minds questioning in many directions. I want to start off with this. It breaks my heart to see our beautiful workers paradise insulted. It is not just an insult to our beautiful land, our lovely culture, our proud people, but the Xsampa we have created. Through our own blood and tears, we have created a better future. Yet it breaks my heart to see some amongst our nation disagree and say we have created nothing but misery. They see our factories, workers happily working for their community and see tyranny and exploitation. They see our councils debating issues and solving worries, and they see tyranny. They see our farmers working and see them as slaves. They see no progress. Only suffering and oppression. I firmly disagree. Because of the power of the Proletariat, Xsampa has gone from feudalism, with poverty, inequality and discrimination rampant to a thriving state, where all Xsampans are equal to one another, irregardless of identity. Where no Xsampan has to fear homelessness, or starvation in the cold. These dissidents wanted a Xsampa locked down. A Xsampa struggling. 

They look to western liberalism, not as a danger but as an ideal to strive for. They are fundamentally wrong. Look across the globe, look around Dovani and you will see where western liberalism has led towards. Poverty, inequality, extremism, danger. The Party guides Xsampa with a firm, but guiding hand. As any parent would guide their children to ensure the best success for them. The Party is the caretaker for Xsampa in a world full of danger, extremism, and inequality. But dissidents like this put our protected state at risk. They put it at risk of anarchy. The status of reforms, and the question of liberalism must be brought into discussion once again. Reforms ensure a healthy nation, but dissidents like these make reforms difficult, if not impossible. Just as making life harder for a caretaker prevents things from getting better. Liberalism must not be allowed to enter Xsampa, for it will bring our nation nothing but inequality, anarchy and chaos. We must be resolute and firm, but united in our vision for the future. We cannot allow these dangerous ideals to threaten our society. We cannot allow the proletariat to be led astray.

Support for Parents; Support for parents is increased as childcare is improved.

Parents love their kids. Other people's kids is an entirely different matter, but everyone loves their kids. Often times however, a family is difficult to manage. While the state can't handle everything such as emotional issues and unexpected issues, it can make things easier financially and provide support for those with an interest in parenthood. The People's Committee of Human Development has begun a program looking to make life easier for aspiring parents and current parents with a series of efforts. 

The first step is simple. Reduce taxes on parents and aspiring parents. This reduces the financial burden that is placed on parents and ensures they can focus on preparing for children, or focus on their child without having to worry about financial woes. In the event this is insufficient, the state will provide more support to nurseries, allowing the child to receive care and support without being neglected, and allow the parents to do what they must. While this should ideally be rare, it is better to be safe than sorry. Tax benefits will be applied to families with children as apart of general childcare welfare, and couples looking to have it adopt children will also receive tax benefits.

The second step is providing direct support. Abuse is an awful thing. No child should ever experience such an event. Unfortunately preventing it is easier said that done. While efforts can be done to crack down on abuse, it's often already occured by then. So the best solution is trying to prevent it from occuring all together. To that end, soon to be parents will be granted more financial support should they attend classes that will focus on how to manage a child, how to maintain a healthy mental and emotional state, and ensure that new parents are adequately prepared to give all their love instead of abuse. While it won't stop children from crying, it will show parents how to handle it in a manner they is non abusive, and ensure healthy development.

The third step is providing support for adoption and other alternatives. Not everyone can give birth. Or wants to give birth for that manner. The state recognizes that, and will provide alternatives for parents who refuse or are unable to do so via birth. This leads to adoption and surrogacy. As such, adoption centres will be given more support to ensure ideal conditions, the bureaucratic paperwork for adoption will be eased. The only restrictions have largely only been basic screening for a history of abuse and it shall remain that way. But the more tedious aspects will be cut down significantly. Making it easier is ultimately a net positive as orphans will find themselves in loving caring families.

These efforts are largely focused on simply making a family more economically viable for Xsampans, and bettering the quality of living for orphans and such. Irregardless of it it does see an increase in families, it certainly will reassure many parents and soon to be parents that the state will support them and help them in any way possible.

The move towards Market Socialism; A New Direction for the Xsampan Revolution.

Before anything, no. Comrade Wangchen is not betraying the Revolution. Market Socialism is a touchy topic, and it's something that the Party has been debating rigorously. Especially with concerns over how it has previously been applied in the past. Yet this isn't the first time Market Socialism as a concept has been floating around in the Party. Obviously the Party has thoroughly vetted all proposals to prevent capitalism from ever entering Xsampa and exploiting the Proletariat. However, Comrade Wangchen has sought to bring about new reforms and prosperity to Xsampa. As it stands, the Planned Economy remains a relic of the past. While it has gotten Xsampa through days dark and stormy, it is not ideal for the future. As such, the question of how can the Planned Economy be reformed has been asked for decades, since the start of the century even. The answer to such a question is, there's no realistic way to reform it. Not without advanced technology that is not yet attainable. Should breakthrough in artificial intelligence ever make ground, then the planned economy can be reformed and made better. But that technology is evidently non-existent, and current artificial intelligence can hardly write a speech without being detected, let alone plan an economy. As such, market socialism is put on the table. But how exactly can it be enacted?

For starters, no. Capitalism will not be tolerated. Whether it be predatory free market capitalism or state capitalism. But the concept of a market cannot be denied. But perhaps the capitalism part can be removed safely. As such, this means allowing the concept of supply and demand back into Xsampa. This will allow goods to be distributed according to the needs of the population. Alongside this, worker cooperatives will be allowed to "compete" with each other, as would be traditional in a market economy. While they won't be competing for profits, they will be competing on who can better the Proletariat. This also of course, includes profit incentives. However, the focus will be on ensuring that the Proletariat is bettered first and foremost. These efforts will ideally ensure new growth and development across Xsampa and redefine Xsampan Socialism. 

By giving independence to the worker cooperatives, and moving towards Market Socialism, we can see workers enjoy the fruits of their labour, not exploited whilst ensuring the allocation of goods and capital are given to the population on the basis of supply and demand. Ideally, we should start seeing new changes, new shops and new opportunities for Xsampans. However, of course, these changes will be slowly rolled out. Both to ensure economic stability, and to ensure that the Party can thoroughly vet the process and ensure it is true to socialism. But for now, new changes are coming and the Planned Economy is being put in the shed for Market Socialism. Perhaps this will bring about more development, and ensure Xsampa thrives. New incentives, new ideas for the community, and new reforms will bring Xsampa to a new age.

Economic Cooperation with Kundrati; National Credit to be established to support the transition to Market Socialism.

Our comrades in Kundrati have taken an interest in supporting our efforts to transition to market socialism. After a few days of negotiations with Tomasadyn National, a deal has been reached. In order to comply with the needs of socialism, and Xsampan laws, a subsidiary will be established in Xsampa. To ensure that capitalism is kept out of Xsampa, this subsidiary will be beholden to Xsampan laws, and as such will be controlled by the workers, and have a workers council. In turn, Tomasadyn National will provide credits for "National Credit". As such, National Credit will provide loans to worker cooperatives looking to establish themselves as a business, and these loans will be easily accessible. This will help in the transition to Market Socialism, and help many Xsampans in bringing prosperity to their communities. However, there are still strong limits on Tomasadyn National, such as a mandate that these credits solely be for the express purpose of helping local worker cooperatives establish a business, and helping initiatives for these worker cooperatives.

This will help in ensuring the transition to Market Socialism is kept smooth, and deepen relations with our comrades in Kundrati. Kundrati understands that Xsampa is a proud socialist nation and is perfectly willing to accept the requirements to enter Xsampan soil. A true comrade. And with their help, Xsampa shall enter a new age of prosperity. The loans from National Credit will be watched with great interest to ensure that it remains ethical, true to socialism and supports the Proletariat. While it may be under Xsampan control, laws and beholden to socialism, anything can happen when experimenting. But overall, this effort will help in revitalizing economic growth for the nation, and ensure prosperity can come to every corner of the nation.

The transition to Market Socialism will likely remain smooth, safe and steady. The state is ready to turn back the dial should anything detrimental to socialism occur, but given the various checks and balances in place to counter capitalism, and trust in our Kundratijian comrades, it is unlikely that the state will need to do anything as National Credit is likely to help many Xsampans during this transition should they choose to establish their own business.

The Status of SocIntern and where International Socialism goes from here.

SocIntern was supposed to be a project that propelled the Proletariat to new heights. Irregardless of country, the proletariat was supposed to be united and ready to fight. However, it seems that dream was short lived. SocIntern, or Socialist International for short was a short lived dream. It was supposed to act as a platform to support the Proletariat across the globe. However, that dream has died before it could awaken. As the fascists in Majatra look to strike down the Istalian Proletarian, and Baltusia has gone radio silent, the question is, what now? All that remains is Zardugal and Xsampa. Zardugul remains under constant threat from imperialism, and it paints a grim future for the international proletariat. Yet we know never to overestimate overwhelming odds or give into despair. 

With SocIntern effectively dead, we stand at a crossroads. We can throw everything we have at imperialism, and fight to save our comrades in Istalia. Or, we can focus inward. In either situation, it is a grim prospect. Charge headfirst into a war that is no guarantee of victory, and puts the Proletariat on the line, or reject internationalism and isolate. Pessimists will tell you that it's either or. That both choices are the only ones available and that Xsampa will lose in the end. But when has pessimism ever lead to a victory? Whirlwinds of danger surround Xsampa and the international proletariat. But it doesn't mean it's the end. There is still yet a future for the international proletariat. While Istalia may be a grim tale, and Baltusia seemingly going dark, there lay hope with Zardugal. The collective defense of the proletariat lay in defending what few havens emerge. Therefore, it is imperative that defense with Zardugal is approached. 

But then lay the second problem. Where does International Socialism go from here? SocIntern failed. Would another attempt fail? Maybe. Perhaps it would fail. But when we fall, we don't think we can never walk. We try again and end up walking through trial and error. Perhaps a smaller scale approach is needed. But what's clear is this. SocIntern failing will not be the end of our fight against fascism, against Yishelem, and against imperialism. However, international socialism is in a spot where serious discussions will need to be held. And this will take time, but perhaps we shall emerge better from it.

Supreme Council starts Impeachment Process on Comrade Wangchen; Concerns over ability to affectively govern.

It would seem that times are changing. Comrade Wangchen has served the nation valiantly, but questions have been raised about Comrade Wangchens ability to govern, especially after the Vascanian Sea Crisis. Concerns about confidence in the current government have only increased and it seems it has come to a full boiling point as an impeachment notion has been put forward and has been receiving support. While a 2/3rds majority is needed, which translate to 376 votes, the votes in favour are only increasing as the Party wants a new direction as Xsampa enters a new era. With the impeachment process being more of a motion of no confidence instead of an accusations of treason, if it passes, Wangchen will be forced to resign and a new General-Secretary will be elected. However, Wangchen will receive an honourable resignation. If it fails, nothing will happen institutionally. While Wangchen may struggle due to the Party questioning his ability to govern effectively, Wangchen will largely remain until his own resignation by choice. 

Due to the mishandling and escalation of the Vascanian Sea Crisis, there have been concerns over whether Wangchen will toss the nation into a war that is unwinnable. With the transition to Market Socialism continuing on, the Party has felt that Wangchens recent actions in handling the Vascanian Sea Crisis will make the transition more dangerous. The concerns also include inability to effectively govern due to Wangchens age. With the vote likely to pass, the biggest question is who the Party will pick. While it may be too early to say for certain, the Party has been a buzz with speculations on who will be elected. With the Worker Council's sending in their votes supporting the impeachment effort, the Central Committee is in no position to override the impeachment notion.

While it's anyone's guess who the Party will vote for, comrades, if you feel strongly about the impeachment vote, make your voice heard at your workers council. Every vote counts and every voice matters for the Proletarian democracy.

Wangchen impeached; Comrade Gurmey Aurousseau elected as first Canrillaise Xsampan to become General-Secretary; Sunshine Policy pledged as a new page is opened for Xsampa.

Wangchen has formally been impeached by the Supreme Council, on the grounds of inability to continue governing. Wangchen however has received an honourable impeachment due to his work in reforming the country. As such, an election has been in order and it seems the Party and Legislature have chosen to nominate two separate candidates. Comrade Gephel was nominated by the Legislature whilst Comrade Dhanacktsang was nominated by the Party. Due to this being a rather unique situation in the Legislature and Party proposing a different candidate, many expected gridlock. Contrary to these expectations, a compromise candidate was proposed. Comrade Gurmey Aurousseau. What makes this election even more noteworthy and unique is that Comrade Aurousseau is the first Canrillaise Xsampan to be elected General-Secretary. 

With her election being done, Comrade Aurousseau has proposed the "Sunshine Policy". Being a collection of relatively liberal ideals, these range from internal reforms such as expanding the power of worker councils to foreign affairs and reopening diplomacy with various nations and cooling down tensions. This policy has a lot within it so let's go over it.

To start off, internally. Comrade Aurousseau has shown support for expanding the power of worker councils and continue the transition to Market Socialism. Alongside that, she has shown support for tearing down injustice that may exist within Xsampa and redefine the nation, and how the proletariat truly views it. Being an avowed member of the Neo-Socialist clique of the Party, her views on various issues are surprisingly liberal. Focusing on hope and optimism for the future, many Xsampans have been receptive to her future plans, as she has shown strong support for continuing reforms, even after the Broadcast Incident.

Economically, as we stated, Comrade Aurousseau supports the transition to Market Socialism, and has shown support for expanding jobs, social services and upgrading infrastructure across the country. Furthermore, she has shown support for economic cooperation with allies.

Internationally, this is where things get surprising. To start off, Comrade Aurousseau has shown strong support from withdrawing from the Vascanian Sea and engaging in detente. While more hawkish elements of the Party have found themselves in opposition, many see this as an acceptable means to diplomatically resolve the issue of the base. Besides that, she has shown strong support for diplomatic efforts and expanding diplomatic outreach across Terra. Being a dove, she has shown strong support for diplomatic resolutions to conflicts and expanding Xsampan friendships.

Overall, her tenure as General-Secretary is set to largely be focused on hope, optimism and peace. Being the first Canrillaise Xsampan, she is breaking down barriers and is determined to continue breaking down barriers to create a better Xsampa and continue reforms across the country. Whether her ambitious Sunshine Policy will pull through or not, it remains to be seen, but her promises will certainly be remembered.

Pension Reform enacted as Retirement Age is lowered; Supporting those who built Xsampa before us.

Comrade Aurousseau has looked to reform Pensions and Retirement for Xsampa. The reforms are focused on lowering the retirement age, expanding pension benefits and generally repaying retirees for their service to Xsampa. As such, the big thing. Retirement Age. As it stands, it currently is at 60. Not bad, but not ideal either. Compared to other countries however, 60 isn't that bad. But to Comrade Aurousseau, it isn't enough. As such, it will be lowered to 58, effective immediately. While this may reduce the workforce, it is better to care for all Xsampans instead of meeting some quota for economic growth. This will allow more Xsampans to comfortably retire and not toil away even longer. As such, this leads to the second reform.

And what is that reform? Pension Reform. As it stands, a portion of a Xsampans paycheck is taken to fund said pension. While it has worked, there is always room for improvement and this leads to the reform that Comrade Aurousseau has in mind. Instead of taking a portion of a Xsampans paycheck to finance it, why not have the state do so? Or rather, turn it into a general tax. Why not both methods? As such, Xsampans will have a choice. They can opt in for an extra small tax that will allow them to put money towards their pension, or they can choose to not opt in and the People's Committee of Human Development will continue handling and providing pensions for retirees. The PCHD will help ensure that no retiree may have to worry about making ends meet and will have the full support of the state. Those who chose to opt in will find themselves with additional cash to use for their retirement as they see fit.

These reforms are designed to allow the state to say, thank you to our retirees who have toiled away to create the Xsampa that we know today. They worked hard so that Xsampans today may enjoy a prosperous life. We can expect more reforms to social services as Comrade Aurousseau is determined to create a new Xsampa, one where the sun shines eternally. Or so is the plan with the Sunshine Policy. Irregardless, these reforms are sure to be welcomed by many retirees who may enjoy the fruits of their labour.
