![]() Pressure on Yishelem increases to formally join Jelbic Empire 7 December 5558 ![]() Two diplomats from Wiel pressure a Beiteynuese counterpart during a recent economic investment meeting between the two states. Wiel has upped the pressure on Yishelem in recent weeks, several insiders have revealed how Wrnuke's ambassador in Yishelem has requested almost daily meetings with the highest offices of Beiteynu. Right now the Emperor of the Jelbic Peoples, Bunjamín Banmek-Sntazed, is the coronated Meleh (monarch) of Beiteynu. Every other nation which recognises Bunjamín as its monarch or sworn sovereign has already joined the official binding framework of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples. The diplomatic treaty is a supranational union uniting all nations of the Jelbosphere and are mostly focused on the succession of the imperial title, trade between member states and a special parliament for all member states. The last article however focuses on the defence apparatus of all member states, with Emperor Bunjamín being ceremonial commander-in-chief of Beiteynu's armed forces the governmental forces in Wiel feel that Yishelem should join the treaty. For several years now the Yeudi nation has kept the treaty at bay, out of all nations currently involved in the treaty only Wrnuke can equal Beiteynu's influence and power. For several years Beiteynu has attempted to keep this sovereignty, using their special position outside of the Empire of Jelbic Peoples to conduct business as usual. Since diplomatic pressure by Wrnuke failed in these years they have increasingly invested in essential industries of Beiteynu. Now the pressure is mounting on the Yeudish state, as soft threats have been allegedly issued from Wiel according to unofficial channels. Yishelem also has a growing interest in Wiel being pro-active in their affairs, as the recent 3rd Point situation has shown. Wrnuke's inactivity during this small "crisis" has been suspected to be deliberate to force Beiteynu's hand. Beiteynu is expected to make a decision within the next few weeks. ![]() Emperor Bunjamín summons representatives: Great Council must meet 10 December 5558 ![]() The newly constructed parliamentary hall of the Great Council of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples in the city of Ur Bahra in Barmenistan. After three years the construction of the new Hall of the Great Council has been finished on the island of Kathuristan in the Shahdom of Barmenistan. In 5555 engineers from Wiel arrived on the island and construction was started, with consent from the government of Barmenia. Ur Bahra's port was renovated to allow for sea traffic, a small airport was established and a special diplomatic district was assigned by city planners. Now, in November 5558, the new central parliament of the Jelbic Empire has officially been opened by the Emperor's representative from Wiel, Prince Pawl Banmek-Sntazed. The treaty of the Jelbic Empire calls for a supranational parliament, where member states will have a different amount of seats based on the percentage of Jelbics within their nation. The idea of the Great Council is to strengthen ties between the nations of the Empire, shorten the lines of communication, and to establish pan-Jelbic initiatives based on culture and trade. Brme's island of Kathuristan was chosen for its central location in North-Western Majatra, and after extensive lobbying of the Brmék government. Recent global tensions have caused the Emperor of the Jelbic Peoples, Bunjamín, to call for the first official meeting of the new supranational parliament. The Emperor's summons have been confirmed by Wiel, in particular Prefect Nasir has sent a formal request to all member states to meet for the first official session. Agenda points will be establishing a chair of the parliament and then discussing recent international affairs. "It is important to maintain a pan-Jelbic discourse, global stability at this moment in time is extremely fragile and the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples has a responsibility to do its part to maintain it." Invites, or rather summons, have been sent to Barmenia, Pontesi, and Jelbe. Even Beiteynu has been invited to send observers, as Wiel is still insisting they too join the supranational framework. Emperor Bunjamín has declared he will personally attend the first session, using it to mark the end of his tour of Barmenia. For several weeks the Emperor has been touring cities and villages across Brme, a traditional duty of the Shah of Barmenia. Newborn children have been blessed and several upstanding citizens were awarded horses of Temrkai's Breed, a rare honour in the Jelbic culture akin to a knighthood in Luthori. ![]() Jelbic Empire ready to mobilize, more funds to Defence 19 December 5558 ![]() The construction of the KJW Támnr, the lead vessel of the new Kezkai V-class aircraft carriers, is well underway in Wrnuke's largest shipyard. Recent tensions within what Wiel considers its "sphere", that being the Jelbic Empire, Beiteynu, and its close allies like Narikaton & Darnussia, have once more caused an increase in defence spending in the Empire's largest nation Wrnuke. Prefect Temrmai Nasir and the Minister of Defence approved a special budget for further investments in the domestic arms industry. An insider source alleged that a special fund was also approved to invest in the defence industry of the Empire's member states. The Ministry of Defence refused to comment on this allegation, but was willing to offer extensive comments about its future 'pride of the fleet'; the KJW Támnr. The naval prefix KJW stands for Kns'hlajogad Jadjohydwas Wrnuke, which means 'warship of Wrnuke'. Támnr, translated to Glory, is Wrnuke's traditional designation for the prime aircraft carrier of the Kingdom. It has been a long time since the nation has fielded a Támnr, but this iteration would be the eight ship of that name and the third aircraft carrier. "The Támnr has always been a part of Wrnuke's naval identity, a piece of tradition and culture, something we have lost along the way, when this ship is hosianized and officially added to the fleet that missing part will be added once again," said Rear Admiral Jebr Shlajvrnsrmo, the current commander of Wrnuke's I. Vlótzgrsho which is the fleet that will receive the new aircraft carrier. The KJW Támnr will be the lead ship of the Kezkai V-class, named after former King Kezkai V who oversaw much of Wrnuke's economic and military recovery in the last few decades. The aircraft carrier has been under construction since January 5552 and has faced several delays as Wrnuke is finding its footing again in the specialized sector of carrier construction. A milestone has now been reached as the final part of the carrier's structure has been added. The navy has been in a rush to deploy the vessel to increase the efficiency and strength of its fleet, but the dockyard in Havendam has refused to budge calling for "quality over quantity". Prefect Nasir has also declared that Wrnuke, and the Emperor, are ready to mobilize the armed forces of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples whenever the situation requires it. "Only recently Lodamun has greatly threatened the peace of several close allies of Wiel, and the Empire will not hesitate to mobilize its forces to defend the sovereignty of its member states and allies." The words were met with loud applause in the Grand Council of Wrnuke. Words were put to action as the II. Vlótzgrsho, Wrnuke's Second Fleet, set sail towards the Migrant's Pass only hours after the Prefect gave her statement. The rapid action fleet, consisting of a dozen frigates and several auxiliary vessels, set sail specifically to counter recent ambitions from other nations. A spokesperson from the Ministry of Defence reiterated that Wrnuke has been absent from recent actions: "Beiteynu, Narikaton and Darnussia, Pontesi, they have all been present in this clash of nations within the Migrant's Pass, Wrnuke's fleet has been patrolling but holding back. Now that is changing, due to a shift in recent geopolitics the high command has given explicit orders to aggressively defend the interests of the Jelbic Empire. Member states have been informed and coordinated action will present itself." The governments of Beiteynu and Pontesi have yet to comment on Wiel's new assertive state. ![]() Modern Jelbic cuisine as a lasting struggle 30 January 5559 ![]() Wiel's most renowned chef Azi Yzguksks at work in the kitchen of his renowned restaurant Nrlgrak, which has two Verrault stars. Modern Jelbic cuisine is facing increased pressure with current food trends, but one master chef is trying to adapt. Jelbic cuisine has traditionally been focused on meat and dairy. Before the migrations historians allege that Jelbic cuisine was not too far away from Yingdalan traditions, just more focused on meat products and dairy. The migrations however forced the Jelbic horsemen to fully focus on dairy and meat. When fully settling in the continent of Majatra the steppes forced this diet. Since then however Jelbics have settled along the coast, in places where Selucians and Cildanians already had ports and cities. This caused the introduction of Majatran spices to the Jelbic diet, together with some sparse vegetables. Nonetheless the main diet has remained meat and dairy. The Jelbic Renaissance caused a great influx of vegetables into the normal settled Jelbic diet, as did the influences of Dorvish, Augustans and Majatrans. Modern Jelbic cuisine has one that has greatly focused on meat, fermentation, dairy and vegetables grown within the borders of what purists consider Jelbic lands. Recent dietary and ideological trends however have overtaken the cuisine of the Jelbic peoples. The new generations in Wrnuke's capital city of Wiel seem to avoid traditional Jelbic food, instead preferring foreign foods. A popular complaint is that Jelbic cuisine is unable to adhere to the diets of the newer generations, with most dishes revolving around meat. This criticism was heard by renowned chef Azi Yzguksks, a former student of three Verrault star chef Yitzhak Shtén-Ashur in his famous Frj Hydwas Koi restaurant. Shtén-Ashur's restaurant has been mostly known in Majatra as being one of the most exclusive places where it is extremely difficult to get reservations. The reclusive chef Shtén-Ashur usually only invites people he likes, personal friends, family and a select audience of guests his 'trusted circle' approves. This globally renowned restaurant which for years has pushed gastronomy to the next level served as the learning grounds for Yzguksks. Under the creative but ruthless chef Yitzhak Shtén-Ashur he served as a sous-chef, with influences on the menu, being credited for several revolutionary dishes. Eventually however being under a chef felt restrictive for Yzguksks. The ambitious young chef reached out to several industry giants and famous restaurant entrepreneur and one of the judges of Wrnuke's most popular cooking show Frjgeik the hospitality investor Pawlín Jezklarz became his saving grace. The successful female chef and investor gave Yzguksks the funds for his own new restaurant. He named the place Nrlgrak, or Gray, as a rather ironic statement. "The cooking we do here is the opposite of gray, so it felt fitting." Instead of sticking to the renewed traditional Jelbic cuisine which his former tutor taught him at Frj Hydwas Koi he decided to find a new modern twist. For the first few years the young chef refused to serve meat in his restaurant. The move surprised critics, which never saw a Jelbic chef on this level start a vegetarian restaurant before. Chef Yzguksks worked hard to create unique dishes in the Jelbic style by using only vegetables. His vegetarian cooking eventually earned him two Verrault stars. Verrault stars are widely considered the greatest achievement for chefs across the globe, ranging from one to three stars. Nrlgrak is one of four vegetarian restaurants across the globe to earn a Verrault star, and the only one to earn two. But this is not enough for the ambitious chef: "I will not rest until I have three stars, which is why we've changed our menu once again, this innovation will change our cooking beyond reproach, we will be unbeatable." The change chef Yzguksks is talking about is a new collaboration between his restaurant and Wrnuke's primary producer of fake meat. This will enable the restaurant to make traditional dishes without meat. The chef has long insisted that swapping to products like these has been a necessity to generate a culture of guilt-free Jelbic cuisine. For now the elder generations seem to be sceptical but younger generations are flocking to the restaurant. A turn in Jelbic cuisine is emerging. ![]() Prefect Nasir steps down, succeeded by General Krlmékez 30 September 5560 ![]() Trusted Air Forces General Grzkai Krlmékez has been named the new Prefect after the surprise retirement of Prefect Nasir. In a surprise announcement Prefect Temrmai Nasir, who has been the diligent 'True Trade Prefect' since 5550, announced she would be stepping down with immediate effect. The Prefect looked sad during her announcement, stating that her advancing age, personal issues and claiming that her resigning would pave the way for a more "direct course of leadership", which she amplified was necessary in the current era of "international tensions". Emperor Bunjamín visited the Grand Council during the Prefect's resignation speech, personally handing her flowers and addressing her and parliament in a short address. The Emperor thanked Temrmai Nasir for her loyal service and announced she would receive the ancient title of Countess of Papel as a reward. The dynasty holding the title associated to the lands around the city of Papel went extinct several decades ago and now the newly established house of Nasir will be Count or Countess of Papel. At the end of the ceremony a majestic horse was guided into the hall of the Grand Council, a pure-bred Temrkai's Breed. This last honour was also presented to the former Prefect, making her Countess Temrmai Nasir TH (Temrkai Heijikjok). The Temrkai's Breed honour is akin to a Luthorian knighthood, giving the former Prefect a double honour from the gracious Emperor. During her tenure Prefect Nasir oversaw a continuation of the policies of the late Prefect Hldjezesti Dorfluzke-Mardoh. His infamous Long Game plan was followed to increase Wrnuke's industrial might, though Prefect Nasir always preferred to expand on trade to boost domestic industry. The Countess leaves a legacy of competence and global reach for a renewed Wrnuke. Her successor General Grzkai Krlmékez is of a different breed. The new Prefect stood in full military uniform as he took his oath for office. In Wrnuke there are no laws against military officers serving in government posts if they get permission from the reigning monarch. Emperor Bunjamín personally signed off on General Krlmékez, His Imperial Majesty personally vouched for the staff officer after being briefed by Wrnuke's chief of staff: "Grzkai Krlmékez has shown this nation what determined leadership means, a man that knows how to take initiative, to improvise and one that respects the structure of command." The General furthermore has an exemplary record, which convinced the representatives in the Grand Council to vote in favour. Prefect Krlmékez has laid down his direct post as overseeing commander of Wrnuke's rapid response fighter squadrons but will not resign his military command. "If times of war arrive, I wish to be ready to serve wherever the Empire needs me," said the new Prefect, "whether that is in a role of direct military command or as the Prefect of Wrnuke." For now the Prefect will focus on further economic growth and a more expansive effort for military rearmament. The latter has come at the behest of the King Temrkai Think Tank, but also as a personal request of Emperor Bunjamín. The new Prefect has been noted as a fierce monarchist and has been open about his loyalties to the monarchy. Critics have stated that the new Prefect may facilitate a return to absolute monarchy in Wrnuke but a spokesperson of the Prefect denied this: "Prefect Krlmékez has been appointed by the Grand Council, as such the democratic constitutional monarchy is still intact." ![]() Exiled Patriarch Theophrastos II welcomed in Nachten 15 January 5562 ![]() Patriarch of Augusta Theophrastos II being welcomed during his late night arrival at his new home in the city of Nachten. The Hosianist faithful of the Patriarchate of Augusta were left in suspense after recent developments in the radical socialist state of Zardugal. The media in Zardugal reported the sudden departure of the Patriarch, though this turned out to be a coordinated effort from the central leadership of the Aurorian Patriarchal Church leadership. The ancient Hosian church warned Patriarch Theophrastos of recent developments and urged him to find a safer place to stay, with the Arch-Patriarch insisting that the Church has "enough martyrs as it is" in a personal letter to the Patriarch of Augusta. It is said that shortly after Theophrastos, born as Mateo Hieronimido, departed the nation through secretive means. His disappearance apparently surprised the Zardic state. In the later hours of the evening he arrived in Wrnuke's medieval city of Nachten, which in the past served as a religious centre during times of instability in other nations of the Patriarchate. Prefect Krlmékez personally assigned appropriate living quarters for the Patriarch. In a statement the Prefect made clear that Wrnuke will always act as a nation of refuge for religions: "Wrnuke is divided amongst three Jelbic tribes, and even more religions. We have Ahmadists, Hosians, Tanhrists, Zollists, Yeudi's, the atheists and the agnostics. Yet through our Jelbic unity we form one nation. Most monarchs of our great Kingdom have followed the path of Hosianism, so it is only fitting that we offer refuge to one of Majatra's leading Patriarchs. A noble figure exiled by the socialists in Zardugal. The good Patriarch is lucky that in the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples we are of a more tolerant stock." Wrnuke's leading figures within the Aurorian Patriarchal Church have pledged their full support for the Patriarch of Augusta relocating to Wrnuke. The Emperor has released a statement wherein he calls upon Patriarch Theophrastos to lead the next mass at the royal palace in Banstill, calling upon the other clergy in the nation to gather the most faithful Hosians for this special new session. The Patriarch himself has already pledged to do so, stating his "thousand thanks" to his new host nation. ![]() Támnr launched as cabinet signs deal with Kalistan 8 June 5562 ![]() The carrier KJW Támnr during its hosianisting earlier this week, before being handed over to the command of Captain Sryca. After over ten years of construction Wrnuke's first aircraft carrier in a long time has been delivered and assigned to active duty by the Naval Forces. In January 5552 Prefect Nasir and Minister Nrlzikrt signed the tender order for a new aircraft carrier for the Jelbic Kingdom. Initial estimates put the time of construction at six years, as advanced designs had already been drafted over two decades. In the past Wrnuke was known across the globe as fielding one of the largest forces of aircraft carriers, but for a long time the nation has had none. Expertise was lacking, as was international cooperation. Wrnuke's last advanced carrier class was project between multiple nations, but now the government insisted on a solo venture. Nonetheless experts from Beiteynu were hired to consult on the ambitious project. Instead of six however the project eventually took ten, Minister Nrlzikrt personally defended the delays to the Grand Council: "If we are to deploy a great vessel to be the pride of the nation we should make sure it is the finest vessel our nation can afford, a rushed project, esteemed representatives, is a failed project." Eventually the delays were always accepted by parliament. The new Kezkai V-class carriers can take up to 42 advanced Z-35 fighter jets as well as anti-submarine warfare helicopters, as well as scouting and transport helicopters for various purposes. The KJW Támnr has been granted to Captain Hemze Sryca, joining the First Fleet (I. Vlótzgrsho) under command of Rear Admiral Jlekai Vrkz-Baokrt. The Rear Admiral will continue commanding the First Fleet from his command frigate, the KJW Frjtri. The First Fleet has however departed from the Migrant's Pass to a new mission. This new mission ties in with a recent deal signed between Kaliburg and Wiel. The details of the agreement have been kept mostly classified by both governments but Minister Shlajkai Nrlzikrt of Defence gave a short statement at a press conference. "The I. Vlótzgrsho has been reassigned to the Anantonese Ocean. The governments of the Jelbic Empire and the Empire of Kalistan have come to a mutually beneficial agreement in regards to military matters, as such the I. Vlótzgrsho will for now be stationed at the Port Swedes National Logistics Centre near the Ananto Strait." The allowance from Kalistan to give the First Fleet port rights in the Anantonese Ocean is only one step of the new mission of this fleet. Rear Admiral Vrkz-Baokrt stated that his fleet, with the new aircraft carrier Támnr, will sail through the Strait to Lourenne, down to Rildanor, Noumonde and past the rest of the Canrille Empire before returning to port in Swedes. "It is the mission of the First Fleet to patrol and show the presence of the Jelbic Empire to all global powers, and of course to respect and honour the hospitality of our Kalistani hosts." Prefect Krlmékez, an experienced military officer, has personally condoned the mission in a recent interview with a magazine: "Canrille must be shown they are not impenetrable. There are other sovereign nations on this globe. They are not the world police. It is a sacred duty of the Empire to project its strength, to inspire those across the globe." In return for a partial lease on Port Swedes the Empire of Kalistan has gained exclusive rights to the Bék Hillesko Military Compound near the city of Hizdrkrtak. The military installation offers Kalistan the opportunity to train its air force across Wrnuke's steppe and commit to desert training exercises with infantry forces. Jelbic instructors are available to the new guests at the Hillesko base. ![]() Government reports further growth after Orca Institute report 2 July 5562, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples ![]() The Snta Tachásjopylz (Southern Station) in Wiel's Suadja Hafn district is currently being expanded due to the massive growth. Almost two years ago the financial analysts of the Whale International Economic Report (WIER) published their brand new publication for the global economic state as per 5560. The file has been carefully calculated by the renowned Orca Institute for Economics. The well-known Wiel born Jelbic economics professor Klune Krsyijkaisrmo is a trusted member of this global institute. The report put Wrnuke as the eight economy of the world. While the last Vandam report was quickly dismissed by the government for lack of data the fact that a Jelbic mathematician and econometrist was involved in the WIER of 5560 made it hard to deny. As such the new Prefect acknowledged the report as truthful. Minister Akedkáhe however insisted that the numbers provided gave a "skewed measurement" of Wnruke's "true economic power". All criticism of the report aside the government seems unanimous in one perception: Wrnuke will breach the top five in the next report. Minister Hedwk Akedkáhe of Trade & Industry, the Jelbic Empire's most powerful woman in charge of the economy, has several radical ideas to increase even more growth. "For too long the Jelbosphere has been afraid of generous sector specific subsidies. In Wiel it should be our duty to finance growing sectors of our economy. Especially in member states of the Empire; look at Pontesi which right forms a miniscule fraction of the Empire's income, imagine fully financing their growing industry. The return on that alone could finance Wiel's bureaucracy for several years." The Ministry of Trade and Industry has drafted several plans to further incentivise growth across the nation. For now however the ministry is very Wrnuke-centric. This is to change in the future according to Minister Akedkáhe: "Wrnuke's largest faction within the Great Council of the Empire will propose closer economic cooperation, whether that will be accepted is up to the member states." For now however Wiel seems to be mainly investing in the domestic industry, while reinforcing trade deals across the globe. Especially mining contracts are given further financial injections as Wrnuke lacks most natural resources for its military and vehicular industry. The growth stated in the WIER assessment has not been unexpected. Prefect Krlmékez confirmed the government expected a significant growth: "Due to the brilliant actions of my predecessor, the Countess Temrmai, the economy of Wrnuke has only grown. Her ambitious plan of 'True Trade' returned Wrnuke to the world stage. Previous regimes always attempted to return to the lost glory but look at our nation now, prosperous and strong." The previous Vandam report was dismissed by the authorities in Wiel but on hindsight has been admitted to be truthful. A former economist of the government, dr. Adlé Grnohekam, wrote a controversial blog about the shortcomings and 'paper tiger' behaviour of the Old Prefect. "Dorfluzke-Mardoh knew perfectly well that Wrnuke was in between 15 or 20 on the global rankings and nowhere near the top spot. Nonetheless a national campaign was propelled making all Jelbics believe that Wrnuke was a top five nation." Now that the Old Prefect has died the new regime seems happy with being number eight, though Grnohekam states this is only the beginning: "A positive result on a different economic ranking will give further confidence to investors." The prediction of the economist has already rang slightly true as the city of Wiel has decided to, by great demand, expand its local infrastructure. Especially the public transport lines to the financial district known as Suadja Hafn have been heavily invested in. Mayor Ershébef Vrkz stated that the expansion in Wiel has been beyond the city council's control. In a recent council session she vented her surprise at how fast the capital is growing. "No matter the objections of the opposition the expansion of public transport must happen now. We cannot be faced with a situation where transport enforcement officers are forced to reject workers from lines." In a short interview the mayor reinforced this point: "Wiel is growing, far beyond the estimates the government has given, I suspect this is happening all across Wrnuke. My tip to all other mayors is to use your local investment funds sooner rather than later, get those business parks ready, approve the housing permits and prepare for that wave of economic growth." For now the rapid growth seems to be in Wiel alone, but several companies like TBTK Krp, Jadjohydwasfabrk Hafndam, Lofrsko, SkroTek, the world-leading ZSME seem eager to invest. As well as global conglomerates from nations like Narikaton and Darnussia, Kalistan and even global investment ventures from socialist nations like Zardugal and Xsampa have shown interest in diversifying their portfolios.
