Form of Government
The Davostag Republic is officially a unitary semi-presidential republic, de facto under an authoritarian democracy with a dominant-party system. The executive head of state is the Rikspresident, formally the 'President of the Davostag Republic', serving as the supreme representative of the nation and as commander-in-chief of the Davostag Armed Forces.

The Government

The Government of Davostag, formally known as the 'Council of Ministers of the Davostag Republic', consists of a premier and a minimum of twelve additional ministers but usually a total of twenty-five, all of whom are appointed by the rikspresident and approved by the Riksdag (legislature). The government acts on behalf of the rikspresident to engage with the legislative branch, enact policies and administer the country by his/her wishes.

The Riksdag

The Riksdag of Davostag, translated as "Diet of the Realm", is the unicameral legislature of the nation, directly elected by the people. Each of the 465 riksdagsledamöter ("Riksdag deputies") represents one electoral constituency, geographically based on population size. While constitutionally speaking, the Riksdag is to supremely represent the constituencies that elects it, in practice it exists to approve the appointment of the premier and the ministers, ratify the election of the rikspresident and pass the legislation presented by the government. Riksdag debates are relegated to the individual parliamentary committees, where selected deputies are allowed to raise their concerns but for the most part only suggest improvements to the motions.

 

The Senate

The Davostag Senate is the electoral body solely convened for the purpose of electing the rikspresident. It is composed of 175 senators, 45 of which are appointed by the Riksdag, all of whom has to be deputies; 55 are elected by the Corporative Chamber, an advisory body representing one of the nine corporatives of the Davostag Corporative Organization; and 75 are appointed by the military. The election of the senators occur every four years, with senators not allowed to serve consecutive terms.

 

The National Electoral Union

The National Electoral Union, officially the 'National Political Electoral Organization of the Davostag Republic', abbreviated NVU, is the ruling party in Davostag. A successor and reorganization of National Gathering, the NVU is the political arm of the Davostag state, its purpose is to bring the nation's political activities under its wing and promote the policies of the Davostag government, that usually includes nationalism, corporatism and Davostag-based conservatism.
