OOC: A resurrection of my original IESCO thread and organization from PT Classic, first published on the original forums on 30 October 2018.
The International Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (IESCO) is an international non-governmental agency founded in 4480 in Tian'an, Yingdala. The purpose of the organization is to promote and preserve global heritage, both natural and cultural. To this end, IESCO is the sponsor of a major global treaty, the Convention on the Preservation of Global Heritage, which binds member-states to cooperate and collaborate, under the IESCO framework, in protecting and preserving IESCO-designated Global Heritage Sites.
See the following link for more information about IESCO:
IESCO Global Heritage Sites, under the Convention, are designated landmarks and areas of cultural, historical, or scientific significance to be preserved by national authorities with the guidance and support of IESCO. Unlike national heritage listings, IESCO designation is intended to emphasize shared planetary heritage and encourage cooperative preservation across political boundaries.
