Commonwealth of Nations - Council
#21
Olivia Hall, Prime Minister of Luthori

Quote:To answer to the remarks of the Mordusian ambassador,

I must say that Luthori's position has been quite clear here, the New Englian Government must survive to allow for the construction of a dialogue between Inglians and Kilanis upon the construction of a new national contract, should I say.

Indeed, in this aim, it's important the New Englian government be supported in any way we can. Under the New Englia (Relief) Act, Luthori harmonised the humanitarian support that it would bring to New Englia and as of today, 3.490 Luthorians are serving in New Englia as humanitarian workers.

Luthori stands ready for anything that the Commonwealth will decide on the course of intervention and we hope that the Hutorian delegation feels that same.

Nevertheless, Luthori agrees that a joint Commonwealth mission, followed by the current and ongoing mission of the Legion of Dove, composed of 13.000 men as of today, that should be composed of at least 10 to 15.000 soldiers should be sent to New Englia to further help their government restore order and tranquillity in the nation.

Roger Matthews; Hutorian Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Luthorian Speaking Nations

Quote:The Kingdom of Hutori will support a Commonwealth intervention into New Englia. I have already spoken with my government and we will be deployed the 13th Mechanized Infantry Regiment, of our 4th Combat Brigade Group. This will also include the potential deployment of tier one operators, and air assets as needed.

Oliver Baffield, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

Quote:Delegates,

As far the Secretariat-General's Office is concerned, we are highly motivated and pleased to see such unity in our statement in regards to New Englia. On this case, my office has explored the different venues in which the Commonwealth could fit itself into in order to alieviate the suffering experienced by the New Englian population.

The Office has been in communication with major humanitarian organisations such as the Orange Cross, Worldwide Doctors and has been trying to get in communication with Whale Island, but to no avail as of now. The Commonwealth would first propose to explore the necessary hassle of coordinating humanitarian efforts from the Luthorian-speaking world, and hopefully, from the entire world coming together in support of the democratic forces in New Englia. My office has already reached out to the Beluzian Government to see such efforts being implemented beyond the Commonwealth structure.

The Commonwealth proposes to hereby harmonise the member states' humanitarian policies through a wider Commonwealth humanitarian aid package, that would be delivered in New Englia through the collaboration of each member state's naval and air forces and distributed to the local population through the wide network of humanitarian package.

The people of New Englia needs a load of things, from basic necessary supplies such as clothes, food, water, and other things, as such, we are in the responsibility, as the organisation promoting the interests of Luthorian-speaking states around the World to protect such a population from their ongoing civil turmoil.

I leave the floor on the discussion for Motion C-03: Regarding the Creation of a Commonwealth Humanitarian Effort for New Englia. fFor Deltaria, such discussion could be held in parallel of the ongoing discussion about New Englia, with another motion being put into force for the creation of an humanitarian mission in Deltaria, where civil war is displacing millions of people and kill thousands every day or the stated motion to be amended to be focused around the wider international area.

I yield the floor to debate.
