Music often changes, it evolves and it embraces the unknown. When elements of different genres collide onto one music sheet, its fusion brings perspective and a multitude of emotions. As I listened to Rosaura's new song--and overall album--I was reminded of the beauty of classical music. Crying violins, the emotions of wind, and the heartbeat of percussion. Rosaura opens her album with a mix of opera--at least that is what we can call it--and fuses it with what she knows best. A model of traditional Egelian and more modern Caillean pop. Her previous albums that included an excellent mix of more urban, flamenco styled pop bode well with her audience, deeming her an artist who her understood well the beautiful craft of songwriting. Yet, with her song Divi, I was able to see and feel something that I have not ever felt. Pure, raw emotion and passion.

Divi starts off with a dramatic Dundorfian opera accompanied by the Caillean Symphony Orchestra. The piece, reminiscent of older Istalian violin chords, opens the scene of pain and the overdevelopment of heartbreak. As the song progresses, we see angelic vocals, weaved with such depth and quality that it often makes us forget that the song is from a pop artist. A transition to Egelian and Luthorian vocals transpires. Religious imagery, lyrics of heartbreak, visuals of anxiety, and a revelation of transformation occur, making one wonder the true theme of the song. While it may be up to interpretation, what this song represents, to my own thoughts, is a portrayal of the mind, the body, and our emotions when we ascend into a revival of our true selves. We may encounter heartbreak, we may encounter anxiety, we may go through a difficult time, but us drowning in them--such as dissolving sugar in a coffee, makes us into something new, something raw and divine. This is what we see with Rosaura's song. The music may be opera-like, classical, but with the integration of newer pop and deeper meaning, it becomes something new.

I believe her song embodies much of traditional Egelion and a newer Caille. What sublimity...What passion in the music. Rosaura has been touched by God at last. Us? We are powerless...powerless against the new age of pop. Or is this the creation and development of a sub-genre? What can we call this? I call it art. Rosaura is already being prepped for a FOMAT run. This may be her time and us forced to watch. Enjoy her creation as much as I have, for we are witnessing a deep dive into the fusion of the modern and the divine.
