Sabotage of Pipeline 7 disrupts national energy supply; Jamaat al-Ahmadi claims responsibility
Militant group signals escalation in campaign against government and foreign-linked energy projects

12 October 5713 – A series of synchronized explosions disabled Temania's Pipeline 7 early yesterday morning, dealing a significant blow to the nation’s energy infrastructure just months after the government secured the Rossfadda contract in New Englia. The blasts occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m., targeting a primary conduit that transports crude oil from northern extraction fields to refineries in the Kota Kabecikan. Authorities have not yet confirmed the extent of the damage, but officials say the line has been taken offline pending inspection and repairs. No injuries were reported.

The Ahmadist militant organization Jamaat al-Ahmadi claimed responsibility for the attack, via a statement shared across various social media accounts reportedly tied to the group. The group’s statement characterized the sabotage as a direct challenge to the People's National Socialist Party (PNSR) and its management of the country’s natural resources, and further alleged that the state’s socialist framework is incompatible with the religious values of the majority. The statement concluded by denouncing Petronara's Rossfadda contract, as well as all states and enterprises which trade with Temania, calling for acts of economic disruption targeting state-run facilities.

The full scope of the damage and disruption remains unclear. However, energy officials confirmed that supply interruptions have affected multiple downstream industries and are likely to continue in the near-term, raising the possibility of rationing the country's domestic energy supply. State financial authorities acknowledged that the interruption could place additional strain on government revenues, which rely heavily on energy exports. External observers have also raised concerns about Petronara's ability to meet contractual obligations abroad, particularly under the Rossfadda contract, if repairs are prolonged or further attacks occur.

The near-simultaneous detonation of multiple charges has also led security analysts to suggest careful planning and access to detailed knowledge of the pipeline network on the part of militant groups, prompting scrutiny of local security arrangements and the national security apparatus. There has been no official comment on whether any direct suspects or perpetrators have been identified.

The incident comes amid an ongoing counterinsurgency campaign described by the government as a “People’s War on Terrorism,” launched two years ago by Premier Basirun Chuanli following the 2011 Redekarta bombings. While officials have previously reported progress in suppressing militant activity, recent attacks have underscored persistent vulnerabilities in the protection of critical infrastructure. The PNSR government and Petronara had not issued detailed statements at the time of publication regarding repair timelines or the status of the investigation.
