July 5724 | Kafuristan and Badara, with MOI, announce ASW plane deal.
Minister of the Armed Forces Khalid bin Anas al-Qusasayr announced that the Majatran Organization for Industrialization had agreed in principal to supply Badara with the MOI-72 through a foreign military sale. The MOI-72, produced now by the Majatran Aeronautics Group, is an integrated maritime patrol aircraft that combines maritime patrol capabilities with anti-submarine warfare capabilities to provide for greater abilities overall. The project was originally a joint venture between Istalia and Kafuristan and was produced by a number of vendors until the Majatran Aeronautics Group, now a partner with the MOI, solidified control over a number of smaller regional producers. The deal is for an unknown amount of aircraft worth several million dollars and is part of a wider campaign to bring Kafuristan and Badara closer, especially as talks have kicked off in Kasraj regarding the formalization of the Ahmadi Cooperation Council. A spokesman for the Ministry of the Armed Forces noted that it is likely in the near future the Kafuri and Badaran navies will conduct routine patrols in the Majatran Sea.
