Istapali - Following the capture of the city of Kekuo the Nsanian military has announced the creation of a Military Occupation Zone to be governed under military law in the land they now occupy. The decision was made with the consent of President Hodari, who personally signed a decree formalizing the move.
Under the decree, the newly occupied territory will be divided into several "Zones of Occupation", overseen by local commanders. The total occupied area is further overseen by the Occupational Administration, led by a military appointed governor. Martial law will be in effect throughout the occupied territory, with soldiers allowed to perform policing duties while in the area.
All military advances have now been halted, with the Nsanian military ordered to dig in at their current positions. Intelligence services have moved into the area to help military forces in combatting insurgent forces now reported throughout the border region, with a "no tolerance" policy adopted by the UAFN.
At home the military deployment continues to spark controversy, with tensions running high in Kagba where the Kagban Liberation Front has issued a ultimatum with the government that it will resort to violence if military forces are not pulled back from Istapali. Kagba is sympathetic to the Istapalian left-wing factions within its ungoing civil war, with the intervention by the Hodari government seen as a potential risk to the communist cause in the country.
Elsewhere, primarily in the capital of Haradesa, the government is also seeing louder oppossition, with protests morphing into anti-regime protests not just aimed at the military intervention but also against economic hardship, corruption and authoritarianism.
