Politics in Xsampa; A refresher of how Xsampan politics operate compared to global standards.

For other countries, politics is elitist. Reserved to the bourgeoisie. For others, it's horrour as neo fascists win elections whilst spineless liberals commit to playing fair. For others, it isn't a thing worth caring about. The autocrat in question handles it all. Benevolently or not. But in Xsampa? Politics is for the Proletariat. It's open and accessible to everyone. Both because it's taught (Thanks to the Political Education Act of 5446) and because that's how politics should work in a socialist democracy. But that makes us a curiosity amongst the world. How exactly does a socialist democracy function, if everyone is socialist?

In some countries, it's a question of liberalism or conservatism. Social Democracy or conservatism. But in Xsampa? It's reform or centrism. For example, the Socialist Labour Party. In a bourgeois democracy, it would be placed in the progressive left bloc. But in Xsampa? It's the forefront of reformism. The opposite for the GNP. Forefront of centrism. But what is reformism and centrism in Xsampa? For Xsampans, reformism translates to refining our democracy. Comrade Bhutia brought about democracy in 5625, but it wasn't smooth. Obviously no nation under 200 years of single party rule could have a smooth transition. It's left issues from the single party era. Reformists seek to correct that and continue enhancing and refining democracy, while pushing the nation forward. Centrists on the other hand, seek to maintain the status quo. It's worked so far, why wouldn't it after all? Both sides have merits after all, and at the end of day, remain committed to socialism and protecting the revolution. Some parties want to protect tradition and progress, others want to focus on the environment and push reforms. Others want to focus on making socialism for the people. Every party is unique in the Xsampan political landscape. So the question isn't "why vote for socialism", it becomes "who should I vote for to best represent socialism?". 

Now, earlier we mentioned the Political Education Act of 5446. The PEA ensured that every student received a political education over the works of Metz and socialism. In 5618, to prepare for upcoming democratization, it was amended to include education over all forms of socialism, from the most liberal to the most vanguard. Because of the PEA, it's ensured that politics isn't taboo, boring or elitist. In a republic for the proletariat, politics must be accessible. Combined with the political power worker councils hold with Local Committee's, and it's not hard for the average Xsampan to be introduced to politics from a young age. The last thing Xsampa should ever have is bourgeois influence on the political scene and creating an elitist political system. 

Of course, to foreigners, this is probably confusing. But to Xsampans, so is liberal democracy. Why vote for a slaver who wears a yellow pin instead of a blue one? And for those without democracy, under despotism and tyranny, their plight is not ignored. And finally, for those without democracy but under benevolence, we find ourselves confused too, but ultimately we can respect it, even if we don't fully agree. Whatever the case, to foreigners, and the world, Xsampan politics remain unique in the current state of Terra. While some go to vanguardism, others go to capitalism, and some go to monarchism, Xsampa remains an oddity with the socialist experiment and multi party democracy.
