Politics in Xsampa; A refresher of how Xsampan politics operate compared to global standards.

For other countries, politics is elitist. Reserved to the bourgeoisie. For others, it's horrour as neo fascists win elections whilst spineless liberals commit to playing fair. For others, it isn't a thing worth caring about. The autocrat in question handles it all. Benevolently or not. But in Xsampa? Politics is for the Proletariat. It's open and accessible to everyone. Both because it's taught (Thanks to the Political Education Act of 5446) and because that's how politics should work in a socialist democracy. But that makes us a curiosity amongst the world. How exactly does a socialist democracy function, if everyone is socialist?

In some countries, it's a question of liberalism or conservatism. Social Democracy or conservatism. But in Xsampa? It's reform or centrism. For example, the Socialist Labour Party. In a bourgeois democracy, it would be placed in the progressive left bloc. But in Xsampa? It's the forefront of reformism. The opposite for the GNP. Forefront of centrism. But what is reformism and centrism in Xsampa? For Xsampans, reformism translates to refining our democracy. Comrade Bhutia brought about democracy in 5625, but it wasn't smooth. Obviously no nation under 200 years of single party rule could have a smooth transition. It's left issues from the single party era. Reformists seek to correct that and continue enhancing and refining democracy, while pushing the nation forward. Centrists on the other hand, seek to maintain the status quo. It's worked so far, why wouldn't it after all? Both sides have merits after all, and at the end of day, remain committed to socialism and protecting the revolution. Some parties want to protect tradition and progress, others want to focus on the environment and push reforms. Others want to focus on making socialism for the people. Every party is unique in the Xsampan political landscape. So the question isn't "why vote for socialism", it becomes "who should I vote for to best represent socialism?". 

Now, earlier we mentioned the Political Education Act of 5446. The PEA ensured that every student received a political education over the works of Metz and socialism. In 5618, to prepare for upcoming democratization, it was amended to include education over all forms of socialism, from the most liberal to the most vanguard. Because of the PEA, it's ensured that politics isn't taboo, boring or elitist. In a republic for the proletariat, politics must be accessible. Combined with the political power worker councils hold with Local Committee's, and it's not hard for the average Xsampan to be introduced to politics from a young age. The last thing Xsampa should ever have is bourgeois influence on the political scene and creating an elitist political system. 

Of course, to foreigners, this is probably confusing. But to Xsampans, so is liberal democracy. Why vote for a slaver who wears a yellow pin instead of a blue one? And for those without democracy, under despotism and tyranny, their plight is not ignored. And finally, for those without democracy but under benevolence, we find ourselves confused too, but ultimately we can respect it, even if we don't fully agree. Whatever the case, to foreigners, and the world, Xsampan politics remain unique in the current state of Terra. While some go to vanguardism, others go to capitalism, and some go to monarchism, Xsampa remains an oddity with the socialist experiment and multi party democracy.

Coastal Infrastructure Investments and Modernizations; Building up coastal Cantons.

The Ten Year Plan is ambitious. Boosting the manufacturing sector to be the ethical workshop of the world is no easy feat. But as Phase 2 focuses on manufacturing, what else can be done except waiting? Well, for starters, we can look to our coastal Cantons and give them love and attention. Investments into infrastructure is the phrase of the week, Comrades.

For starters, the ports. Gramdkarpo remains the best Port City Xsampa has, but this doesn't mean we can put all our dreams into Gramdkarpo. We have to diversify and provide more support for ports across the country. To that end, modernizations will be vital. Deep water ports will be modernized with new modern equipment, expanded berths, automated cranes (within reason), as well as reinforcing said ports to handle heavy machinery, vehicle exports and manufactured goods. 

Speaking of manufactured goods, we'll need a more faster way to get them from factory to port. That's where modernizing the Xsampan Rail Network comes into play. So, Modernizations will come. For starters, dual rail lines will be vital to maintaining economic growth, fast shipping and of course, public wealth and joy. One like for public transportation, another for freight. This ensures that trains on the XRN aren't competing with one another and ensures that the public isn't left out. Furthermore, direct expansions of the Xsampan Rail Network with the "Factory to Freight" concept, expanding freight lines from major factories directly to ports via the XRN. Finally, for coastal cities and towns, light tram networks to begin moving cargo to and from small factories to ports. Plus it'll provide jobs and public transportation to these communities.

Next, supply chain and logistics. As we stated earlier, multiple ports will be modernized and supported to prevent bottlenecks, share the wealth and ensure diversity. Furthermore however, storage facilities will need to be expanded in coastal Cantons, both for produced goods and goods that can expire (such as agricultural goods that go abroad). These efforts will be invaluable to supporting the Ten Year Plan and supporting efforts at turning Xsampa into the ethical workshop of the progressive world. It'll take time, but Xsampans are no strangers to waiting for great results.

The ocean. It's a beautiful place and one that Xsampans certainly enjoy. But what makes it beautiful? Sure, in the surface, it's lovely. But it's what's underneath that surface. The thriving coral reefs, the thriving ecosystems. That, is what makes it beautiful. There are many unique creatures and while the Sovereign Sea doesn't hold anything too crazy like the more deeper parts of the Red Bass Ocean, it does contain one jewel. Jellyfish. Colloquially known as Seajelly. A sad reality is, often, the fauna within the ocean is the most vulnerable. Overfishing, pollution, you name it. While the prior government did do good in preserving eco systems, they did sadly neglect aquatic ecosystems. But with the Jamma Administration winning another term, he's looked to hammer down the environmentalism, particularly with a focus on preserving aquatic ecosystems and fauna.

Chief amongst these preservations, is of course, Jellyfish. For starters, the creation of the Xsampan Aquatic Research Institute will be created. XARI will be responsible for researching and studying ecosystems within the Sovereign Sea, and work towards preserving species within the Sovereign Sea. For jellyfish in particular, special zones will be established in areas where jellyfish thrive, and these special zones will be marine protected zones. Heavy restrictions will be placed on fishing and trawling in these areas. 

However there are other ways to preserve and protect jellyfish. Where nature falters, humanity steps in. Aquariums. They can be abusive and cruel, or they can be perfect micro habitats. It all depends on how they're ran. And in Xsampa? Humanity and ethicality comes over efficiency. As such, coastal cities, such as Gramdkarpo will be responsible for maintaining interactive aquariums. Besides containing all sorts of fish, jellyfish will be the main focus. Beautiful creatures worth protecting as much as we can. The Yak of the sea if you will. Gramdkarpo Social Aquarium will be the pinnacle of what aquariums can be in Xsampa. 

Besides being beautiful, jellyfish do have practical uses. Research can be done onto jellyfish to learn more about biomaterials and while it's questionable on if results can emerge with current technology, it never hurts to try and learn. Potential benefits could range from biodegradable gels, or even medical usage. Of course, it's questionable on what's achievable with current technology but still. Furthermore, eco tourism. Or rather, aqua tourism. Observation tours, glowing jellyfish night experiences (due to some being bioluminescent) and the like will be certainly a sight worth seeing.

Red Ruby Initiative begins; Expanding the mining sector to Rubies.

It's no secret that Xsampa is starting to build up a reputation as an ethical exporter of goods. Whether it be refined goods as seen with the Ten Year Plan, or of mineral goods like diamonds (something foreign buyers can attest to, such as House Ananto). This obviously has many benefits. But, it does have one extra cost. Foreigners are willing to accept our rules. Obviously no foreign Social Enterprise is allowed to operate in the mining industry. Even if they have to abide by our regulations and engage in Socialism, they cannot be trusted still. But it means that they'll gladly pay more if it means they knowingly purchase diamonds that are ethically mined. And it's a great source of income. There are many royal families across Terra that have great interest in good public relations, and high quality diamonds. But what if we expanded the mining industry? Diamonds is a bloated market, and while our niche is being ethical, it never hurts to diversify. 

This is where rubies come in. The Hanzen Shield Mountain Range has many gifts. Among its beauties, is mineral deposits. And rubies are one of those. Less concentrated than diamonds, but equally as valuable. As such, efforts shall begin on establishing a robust ruby industry, and fortunately we already have a strong basis with the diamond industry. The first step is conducting a survey across the Hanzen Shield Mountain Range to find adequate deposits of rubies and prepare for mining. For existing known deposits, mines will be established (which will adhere to environmental and labour regulations). Diamond miners in these areas will be offered a retraining program should they want to swap to the ruby industry and new workers will be trained. Open pit mining will be tolerated for mines whilst underground shafts will be necessary for deeper veins. Extreme care and caution will be taken to ensure not only environmental care but above all, the safety and health of workers. 

As soon as these mines start producing rubies, refineries will be created to domestically process these rubies. No one wants raw rubies exported. Whether it be sorting facilities, cutting and heat treatment centres, or anything else, these industrial hubs will be vital to ensuring domestic refining of rubies. These cooperatives will work with jeweler cooperatives in ensuring that gems are processed properly into stones. Specifically, the heat treatment centres will be of absolute priority. These ensure the rubies get their shape and colour, and the world likes shiny things.

It'll take a few years to properly establish the ruby industry, but this is a good start. The biggest benefit is another source of income for the state, which is always a win. The 5650s saw big debate over the budget and it's reassuring to know that even now, Xsampans want to achieve fiscal responsibility without enacting bourgeois austerity.

Phase 3 of the Ten Year Plan; Refining the manufacturing industry.

Phase 3 of the Ten Year Plan has arrived. Phase 1 was setting up the foundation whilst phase 2 has focused on being the boom of the manufacturing sector. So what is phase 3? Phase 3 is refining the manufacturing sector. It isn't enough to simply produce ethical goods, they must be quality and the world must known that "Made in Xsampa" is a source of pride, not just a fun fact.

For starters, factories and industrial parks will go to their full capacity. Modular factories will be in to showcase their ability to produce goods en masse, whilst being dynamic to respond to global demand. EVs, textiles, solar panels, aircraft parts, electronics, medical devices, fertilizer, jewelry, you name it. Made in Xsampa will be a brand renowned for ethicality and quality. Our products will already be expensive so why bother caring about cutting corners to appeal to more people? We know our niche. We're not capitalists seeking endless greed. We're socialists showing the world what socialism can do. 

For the workforce, technical academies will be given more support to ensure the workforce is properly trained and ready to handle the demands of becoming the ethical workshop. Furthermore, an emphasis will be placed on manufacturing skills. Robotics, precision engineering and sustainable energy technology. Alongside this, continuous learning programs for workers in modular factories. 

Furthermore, campaigns will begin to spread the news and awareness about the Made in Xsampa label. It's not just a pretty sticker, it's a sign that a product was made with the rights of the Proletariat in mind. For local economies, Local Committee's will continue to be responsible for managing wealth redistribution in these communities and ensure wealth isn't extracted outside of Xsampa. With new sources of revenue, this can allow not only more revenue for the state but revenue for local communities to invest into themselves and develop even more such as better infrastructure, expanded housing, expanding city welfare or even expanding service buildings.

With Phase 3 being less of a proper phase and more of refining any holes and announcing to the world that Xsampa is a workshop, the big question in the People's Committee of Economic Management is of course, what next? Will be there be a Phase 4? Will the Ten Year Plan wrap up? Will there be a second Ten Year Plan? So far, it's hard to say but we can expect this to be major boost to trade and economic development in Xsampa, especially locally as local communities are enriched further.

Cryptocurrency banned in Xsampa; Concerns cited over economic security, environmental harm and foreign speculation.

Cryptocurrency is a... Weird thing to say the least. While no major cryptocurrencies exist in Terra, the possibility of one has always existed. Obviously the lack of a major cryptocurrency existing has made it slow for the law to keep up with it. Today however, PAX unanimously passed (561-3) a bill to formally outlaw and ban all cryptocurrencies, crypto mining, trade and possession of cryptocurrency. The argument has been that besides being a hypothetical threat from capitalism that can easily be a realized threat, it is capable of doing immense environmental harm, disturb and harm the Tsokling System (via disrupting collective redistribution), and security concerns over laundering and foreign manipulation. 

Obviously with the lack of major cryptocurrencies in the world, most Xsampans have simply said neat and shrugged. While foreign tech capitalists may use this as another reason to claim that Xsampa isn't free, it's hard to take them seriously when again, no major cryptocurrency exists. The best solution is to simply laugh and get back to your day. Whatever the case, the banning of crypto will ensure that should the threat ever emerge, socialism in Xsampa is capable of protecting itself against all capitalist threats and our institutions are safeguarded. 

Whatever the case, this is less of a big development for Xsampa and more so just the law catching up to a hypothetical problem in the future and preparing for it. But any news is better than no news, right Comrades?

Cat's Triumph; A show making major gains in Xsampa.

In Xsampa, it's common for Xsampans to adore cats. Between cat cafes, high ownership of cats and a general fondness for cats, it's been little surprise that shows would emerge. Some have emerged in the past, such as one simply filming kittens in a tiny house living life. But a new show has been making major ground in Xsampan television and media. Cat's Triumph (La Victoire du Chat). The premise of the show is to essentially see how much weight cats can deadlift. Usually food, mostly fish. Essentially, cats are filmed competing to see which one can lift the most. Commentary is included and is incredibly enthusiastic, akin to what you would see in traditional sports.

Now, there are a handful of things to say. One, yes, we know what you're thinking. And don't worry. The most that the cats can lift has been 2 kilograms. Pretty heavy fish. Two, Local Committee's (particularly the Tsélamé-sur-Yol Local Committee) has made sure that this is ethical, with even the filmers of Cat's Triumph confirming that all food is shared and they the cats are well cared for. So, rest assured. There is no abuse fortunately. The show has been relatively popular for a handful of reasons. One, cats. All of Xsampa loves cats! Two, it's quite amusing to see a happy cat carry a big fish in its mouth.

Cat culture remains a unique but defining aspect of modern Xsampan culture. As this show continues on, it's likely that more and more shows will continue in being unique and experimenting with how to continue admiring cats across Xsampa.

Xsampa sells Meleh's Gem to the Kingdom of Hutori; The gem is sold for 30 billion.

The trial of Maria Kadiyot 20 years ago changed Xsampa drastically. It brought an end to old grudges and allowed closure. However, during the rescue operation, she held a valuable Yeudi gem on her. For 20 years, the gem was kept in an undisclosed location, largely useless to Xsampa. The government didn't care for it beyond keeping it safe and the public had little interest in it. So, when the Jamma Administration announced that it would resolve the fate of the gem, it was largely a collective shrug. But the results have gotten people's attention in a good way.

One of the options to deal with the gem was simply throw it into the Sovereign Sea and call it a day. Unceremonious but the problem is resolved. Another was to turn it into a bathtub. Apparently that idea was quite popular with the Xsampan public solely for the sheer comedy. But when it was announced that it would be sold to the highest bidder, most Xsampans accepted it since, at the very least, we exchange a useless gem for money. And after weeks of negotiations, it seems someone has been confirmed to buy the gem. The Kingdom of Hutori. While undeniably a bourgeois democracy, they have shown themselves committed to common prosperity, good governance and peace in the world. As such, this opened the door for the selling. With the gem being sold for 30 Billion (Originally 50 billion but Xsampan negotiators dropped it to 30 due to feeling 50 was excessive), with a payment process being a sum of 3 billion until 5677. Alongside this, all that was asked beyond the price was opening the door to friendly relations. 

As such, the gem will be sent to Hutori, whilst Xsampa can take comfort in knowing that we no longer have a lousy gem, and have another stable income for the state for a decade. The Jamma Administration has already confirmed that all 30 Billion will go towards bettering the nation, paying off old debts, drastically expanding military modernizations, expanding Tsokling, and bringing Xsampa to new heights. A win win for both sides as Hutori receives a prized Yeudi gem, and we receive funds to invest into ourselves and better the Xsampan Proletariat.
