Dialogue begins with trade unions as the MoL announces new labour reforms, the economy begins showing signs of growth: concessions are necessary for eternal prosperity
Kamalata, Vascania. In a major development for workers in Vascania, Prime Minister Vikas has announced the official start of negotiations and talks between the Ministry of Labour and Workers' Welfare and the officially registered trade union within the empire. The news came after parliament, or what remains of it, approved a government-sponsored bill that aims at reforming the current 75 labour laws into 3 law texts that will address the different labour issues gripping Vascania ranging from the widespread popularity of unregulated labour, the catastrophic state of wages, and the growing inequalities between the different sectors of the economy due to Vascania's massive population and the previous neglect done by the previous administrations, the issue of labour has became a critical issue after the success of the health and labour reforms that were launched by the government. The labour negotiations will be spearheaded by the government and the biggest trade union in Vascania being the General Union of Vascanian Trade Unions, also known as the Vascanian Workers' Confederation, which will also include individual talks between the major unions of each work field such as teachers, doctors, engineers, farmers, bankers, and so on and so forth. In addition to the negotiations, the Ministry of Labour vowed to dismantle all forms of oppression against workers by legalizing prostitution and sex work, giving them legal protections, and allowing them to form their own workers' union, the news was met with uproar from rural areas of Vascania who decried a collapse of morals but their protests were quickly silenced when the emperor himself publicly approved of the MoL's decision justifying it as "a necessary step for the Empire to take to achieve eternal prosperity where every Vascanian is free to fullfil all their desires such as the way the heavens intended." Furthermore, the Imperial Bank of Vascania released an economic report showcasing the steady growth of the Vascanian economy by an average of 4% due to the population being pushed out of illiteracy and death rates collapsing as cases of deadly diseases continue to decline, which led to the markets granting more trust to Vascania especially since the creation of the Lavati Special Economic Zone that has seen historic level of growth and economic activity in its history.
