Prefect open to mediation by Zardugal
4 November 5573, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
Diplomats from Wrnuke and Zardugal meeting in the city of Krlmek not too far from the border to discuss the proposal.
The government has responded positively to a recent proposal by Zardugal to act as a mediator in the recent conflict between Xsampa and the Jelbic Empire. Prefect Krlmékez responded positively to the proposal in the Grand Council and later commented on it during the weekly press conference. "Director Diarmaido may not be ideologically aligned with the Empire but he cares about the relations between our two states, Wrnuke and Zardugal are friends and as such the cabinet understands the difficult position the Director is in, to see two friends fighting is always a difficult sight." The recent diplomatic strike against Beiteynu prompted the cabinet to take swift action against Xsampa and sever ties, ending the mutually profitable trade agreement the two states had. Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez took great offense by the Xsampan action, as the Emperor grew up in Beiteynu and is a practicing Yeudi. Right now Krlmékez is even the acting Prime Minister of Beiteynu with the hospitalisation of Anna Kadiyot.
Nonetheless diplomats of both Zardugal and Wrnuke, with the latter representing the Empire as a whole, have been meeting to discuss the current situation. Prefect Krlmékez has been noted as harbouring sympathies towards Xsampa, when calls were made in the Grand Council to reduce trade with the socialist state the Prefect gave a fiery speech defending the agreement. During this notable speech Krlmékez hammered down hard on important points like raw resources, keeping an open mind to all ideologies, preserving global peace by making allies across the globe, and reinforcing the friendly nature the Xsampans had shown the Jelbosphere. The warning however changed that attitude, though there are sources that report the Prefect was reluctant to sever ties and only did so under pressure of his party and several cabinet ministers. The offer from Diarmaido then seems like a lifeline for the Prefect who would rather see global trade and nations befriending the Jelbosphere than seeing more tensions appear.

Wiel urges Pontesi to invoke 'Article 4e'
1 November 5574, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
One of the Avlamajolépar 2W7 main battle tanks during a recent exercise, the first of many since the beginning of the conflict.
The government of Wrnuke, the Jelbic Empire's leading member state, has issued a statement condemning Istalia's war against Pontesi and Kafuristan. Both nations are partners of Wrnuke, with Pontesi being a core member of the Jelbic Empire and Kafuristan being one of the Kingdom's close trading partners. Right now there is even a pipeline that ships oil straight to Wrnuke from Kafuristan. The sudden invasion from Istalia has been seen as a suicide mission by many within the Empire and the Prefect already spoke about an "unwinnable invasion" while pleading Istalia to cease its military operations and surrender or request peace talks. These calls however fell on deaf ears and the Istalians continue to try and invade the Empire. As such Wrnuke has mobilised its military forces and is doing non-stop exercises to remain at the highest possible state of alertness. The III. Vlótzgrsho, or Third Fleet, is a naval formation equipped with many frigates and smaller vessels, which are constantly patrolling the pipeline to avoid Istalian sabotage. Separate vessels are already being prepared to carry Royal Marines for a potential invasion of Istalia, though for now Wrnuke remains out of the war as Pontesi has not invoked article 4e of the imperial framework treaty. This article guarantees that if one member state is attacked all others shall defend it, but it is at the discretion of the member state to actually invoke the treaty. So far the Pontesi Kingdom has not yet done that.
Diplomats from Wiel have been pressuring the government in Melikvan but to no avail, as Pontesi insists it can win this fight itself. Military analysts from the King Temrkai Think Tank are inclined to agree with the Pontesian assessment, the northern Majatran nation has decisively revamped and improved its armed forces over the past few decades and trained in tandem with other forces from the Empire. Nonetheless for now the government has signed an emergency decree to give military aid to Pontesi, with ammunition, drones, shells, clothing and other requested items being sent over. Minister of Defence the Duke Zhtál-Merlkai commented that whatever Pontesi needs will be sent over without a second thought. The conflict however has shaken up the diplomacy of Wrnuke, as Zardugal has openly condemned the expansion of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples. Together with Zardugal openly sending aid to Istalia the government decided enough was enough and abandoned the mediation talks Zardugal was hosting between Wrnuke and Xsampa: "We cannot trust them to be a neutral mediator as they have so blatantly picked sides in this horrible conflict," said Minister Klune Dnk-Karák of Foreign Affairs. The government is taking steps to rescind the treaty of cooperation between the two states, for now the energy relief network has been taken offline a consequence that left several citizens of Zardugal in the dark. It is expected the Empire will close the border with Zardugal in the next few days before threatening sanctions if Zardugal does not stop supporting the Istalian war of aggression.

JZF proposes one currency for Empire
17 September 5576, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
The head office of the Jelb'koékai Zntral Frndpylz (Jelbic Central Bank) which has proposed one currency for the Empire.
As part of an on-going effort to strengthen cooperation and increase growth the Executive Committee of the Grand Council of the Empire has at a consistent rate sent proposals to leading governments of the Jelbic Empire. One of these proposals caught the eye of Minister Aldrkai Cusham of the Kingdom of Wrnuke, who is known for pushing more adventurous ideas. This proposal, drafted by several economists from across the Jelbosphere proposes a singular currency for all nations of the Empire - or at least for participating members. They argued in their study, named 'Central Currency Commitment', that one currency could vastly increase trade within the borders of the Empire, as well as encourage investments between money partners. Lastly it would assure member states to support each other during financial downfalls. With all these things on hand the Minister petitioned to the Prefect and Emperor for an additional budget and the permission to set up an overarching agency. As such the Jelbic Central Bank was founded, the Jelb'koékai Zntral Frndpylz even received a new rather magnificent office in Wiel. For now the JZF only has authority in Wrnuke but the idea is for the central bank to become an overarching bank for all members of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples.
The JZF has taken the 'Central Currency Commitment' study and drafted a more in-depth proposal for the member states to look over. The currency is currently poised to be called the Togr, after an old Jelbic word for 'circle' and 'coin'. The old Jelbic Khanates occasionally minted round coins which they called togr. For now only the government of Wrnuke has committed to the proposal, but further discussions in the Great Council should potentially see other nations join. As of right now the Prefect of Wrnuke, Grzkai Krlmékez, is still the acting Prime Minister of Beiteynu which could sway them towards a certain direction. The weaker economies of the Empire, namely Jelbe and Barmenistan, are on the fence so far as committing would mean a greater dependance on the more powerful economies in the Empire. Then again, not doing so would also wield a significant risk as they would lag behind on the benefits being given to other members. For now the topic is hotly debated and the JZF continues to tinker on its proposal. Chairwoman Lén Strhosíék of the JZF has already pledged to visit every member state and discuss any concerns before an addendum to the founding treaty of the Empire is brought to the floor of the Great Council.

New deal with Trigunian states signed
10 September 5577, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
The 'new' Emperor Bunjamín Naval Station in Brakav is only a small part of a larger agreement with Trigunian states.
Prefect Krlmékez calls it a "historical agreement" between the Kingdom of Wrnuke and several of the Trigunian breakaway states. "In an ancient past Wrnuke and Trigunia cooperated on several levels, but these ties have long faded. With the collapse of a unified Trigunia I myself was always unsure about the future between Wrnuke and the Trigunians, yet now it fills me with joy to show this treaty to the world." The Prefect himself met with several representatives of Trigunian states, though there were also some absentees. The situation in Trigunia is still defined as 'fragile' by international observers. Nonetheless a substantial agreement was reached with several states, primarily the Nadiya Economic Community. The states will be represented by the Kerisian Unification Horde, who the Emperor allegedly preferred due to their similarities with traditional Jelbic Khanates. Wrnuke's oil giant Petrovan entered a deep cooperation with Pemat from the Vrosnok Council Republic. Petrovan will gain priority rights on extraction and refining a substantial part of the oil reserves in Vrosnok. Profits will be split with Vrosnok's own Pemat. This all comes with an assurance of non-aggression against all states cooperating with the Kingdom of Wrnuke and the Jelbic Empire. Other nations included in this agreement are the Lesnov Soviet Socialist Republic, for which the Prefect has been criticised due to their communist ideology, the Brakav Free Democratic Republic, the Black and Red Army, the Polina Pavlina Institute and the Kozaki People's Free Republic. Vrosnok, the Horde, and Brakav are seen as the 'main partners' by Wiel in this agreement due to their cooperation and cultural ties.
The most beneficial part of this agreement for Wrnuke is the establishment of a permanent naval base within the territory of the southern Brakav Free Democratic Republic. The pan-Dundorfian splinter state agreed to let the Jelbic Kingdom take over an old Trigunian naval base. Engineers of several branches of the Armed Forces have been hard at work to restore and expand the facilities in the old base, renaming it the Emperor Bunjamín Naval Station after its completion. The base will give Wrnuke almost global projection, as its fleet can freely refuel at any member state of the Jelbic Empire, refuel and recuperate within Kalistan's Port Swedes and sail over to the join base with Beiteynu on the coast of Vascania. The move by Wiel comes in a response to further perceived warmongering from states like Lourenne, Zardugal, Lodamun, and Xsampa. Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez made it clear these developments are only to safeguard the Jelbic Empire: "We do not wish war, we are only defending ourselves and our interests. When Istalia attacked a member state of the great Empire we tried to force a peaceful resolution, this came to nothing, we tried to negotiate with Xsampa's aggression towards us but these attempts were thwarted by warmongering Zards, now we learn that Lourenne is arming them while they continue their military posturing. This is our line in the sand, Wrnuke's reach is now global."

65th birthday of Bunjamín to be celebrated across Empire
28 September 5578, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
The entrance to the palace of the Emperor in Wrnuke's capital of Wiel, pictures inside are forbidden per royal protocol.
Next year the monarch of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples, Bunjamín Banmek-Sntazed, turns 65 years old. He has been the reigning monarch of Wrnuke for 25 years, being coronated in September 5553 after the passing of King Kezkai V, known by most people as "The Good King" for reducing poverty across the Jelbic Kingdom. A month after his ascension then King Bunjamín announced his personal claims to the ancient Empire of the Jelbic Peoples, a long dream he was able to fulfil a year later in October 5554. Since then the Empire has grown to encompass six member states, with three of these being in the top ten of the largest global economies. During the reign of the Emperor living standards in Wrnuke drastically increased, with the Emperor himself diverting a part of his personal wealth to establishing necessary facilities in the more remote regions due to his own passion for the traditional Jelbic lifestyle still alive in some rural parts of the country. His reign also oversaw the launching of two aircraft carriers, once a staple of Wrnuke's global projection but one that had been gone for a long time, the Emperor was noted to have a personal interest in this project even though he never served in the navy. But who is the Emperor himself? Many across the Empire only know him as the nation's figurehead, seldom seen outside and never photographed due to royal protocol it is difficult to imagine what kind of person he is in private. Krsyiji Sagmot'l has composed this short biography on Bunjamín Banmek-Sntazed to paint a picture of the illustrious monarch of all the Jelbic peoples.
Born on April 14, 5514 in the Beiteynuese capital city of Yishelem as Prince Bunjamín Banmek-Sntazed. He is of mixed Jelbic and Yeudi ancestry, his father Prince Míhalj Banmek-Sntazed was a cousin of King Kezkai V and two were close friends with Bunjamín always referring to the King as 'Uncle'. This line of Banmek-Sntazed's settled in Beiteynu in 5476 when the princely brothers Pawl and Lazr married into the Keshef family, a prominent banking dynasty. As a young prince Bunjamín grew up in a mixed household learning both Jelbic and Beiteynuese traditions, at age ten he adopted the Yeudi faith and at age twelve his father took him to Wrnuke to undergo the traditional Jelbic coming of age trials. At age thirteen he returned to Beiteynu, still having no idea what the future would bring. By 5532 the 18-year old Prince Bunjamín was about to start university in Yishelem when King Kezkai summoned him to Wiel. The Prince's 'Uncle' had no children of his own and was seeking to name an heir from his extended family as there are many cadet branches of the Banmek-Sntazed's across the globe. It has been released by other close confidants of King Kezkai that the choice for Bunjamín was made rather quickly, for starters the King enjoyed the company of his 'nephew' and his close ties to Beiteynu was an essential part of the plan drafted by former Prefect Dorfluzke-Mardoh to oust the last remnants of colonisation from Majatra. So before Bunjamín could start his studies he was named Archduke of Banstill, after a year delay to do ceremonial proceedings across the Kingdom he returned to Yishelem. After four years he attained his bachelor's degree in history with a minor in Majatran relations, his thesis was about the personal life and interests of Temrkai H'án based on his sixth wife's diaries which had been rediscovered in a Barmenian archive.
After finishing his studies the Archduke, now twenty-three, enlisted in the Beiteynuese Armed Forces. While some were critical of the heir of the largest Jelbic state serving in the military of a foreign power the King personally approved the move, calling for closer ties between Beiteynu and Wrnuke. After an officer course the Archduke was assigned as a junior lieutenant to an infantry platoon. After seven years he left the army as a captain. In the last three years of his enlistment he had already frequently taking long leaves of absence to commit to his duties as heir in Wrnuke. Upon arrival in Wrnuke he was given a new position within the reserves of the Land Forces. Most of his time then was spent on slowly taking over duties of King Kezkai, who at this time had started to get sick. In 5545 he met his wife Pruva Vrkz-Kerlmék during a charity event. The two are still married and have several children, but the Empress has and remains a very private person who avoids public events to focus on family life and running her own charity organisation that reduces poverty in Jelbe. Life in Wrnuke as a reserve officer and the heir to the Kingdom revealed a more relaxed Bunjamín, one that enjoyed to play football with his young children, who is known to prefer Selucian as his favourite cuisine and as a man that is a massive movie buff with a private cinema being present in every royal residence across the Jelbic Empire. In 5553 he became King and a year after the Emperor of all Jelbic peoples. Since then he has been a monarch that at times likes to involve himself in how the Empire should be run, with critics saying he oversteps his royal duties. Others however applaud the Emperor for his care towards seeing this unified Jelbic state succeed. The Emperor often refers to himself as a "staunch Jelbic traditionalist" and has dismissed any calls to reduce his workload.
Instead he seems to take on more work, for in April next year the entire month will become a celebration of the Emperor's birthday. The Emperor will travel across all the member states in the four weeks and has personally allocated funds to set up festivals, concerts, fairs, and all kinds of other things in major cities across the Empire. A message from the Royal Palace read that the Emperor hopes that it will not be a celebration of his birthday but more of a celebration of Jelbic unity, cooperation, and strength. United the Jelbics stand against all threats.

War! Wrnuke declares war on Istalia
8 May 5579, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples (Backdated)
The I. Vlótzgrsho with Wrnuke's pride of the fleet the KJW Támnr returning to the Majatran Sea from Port Swedes in Kalistan.
Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez has confirmed today that the Kingdom of Wrnuke will honour the treaty of the Empire of the Jelbic Peoples. The announcement came hours after the leader of the Great Council, the Empire's parliament, announced that all member states are now at war with Istalia due to Pontesi enacting clause 4e of the treaty that forms the Jelbic Empire. Recently the Empire of Kalistan gave a soft ultimatum to Wrnuke to keep using Port Swedes as a resupply harbour, these terms asked Wrnuke to lay aside all its conflicts with nations like Lourenne and Lodamun. For Wiel this was unacceptable, as Lourenne officially still has claims on Beiteynu. It has been a long-standing position of the Kingdom of Wrnuke to have no ties with nations outside of Majatra that lay claim to Majatran land. Together with the continued posturing of Lourenne as Canrille's leading nation the government of Wrnuke had no choice but to order the I. Vlótzgrsho to pack up and abandon Port Swedes. Before departing the crews of the First Fleet held a small "thank you" party for Kalistani personnel at Port Swedes, with Emperor Bunjamín sending a personal letter to Empress Carolina to thank Kalistan for its hospitality and complimenting the new imperial gem on the Kalistani crown. The Emperor has allegedly offered to donate two historical artefacts to Kalistan to be displayed in a dedicated museum, one being a watch that once belonged to legendary Kalistani unifier Pavel Andrewson and a sword once attributed to King Rufus the Terrible. The Banmek-Sntazed dynasty has a long commitment to collecting historical artefacts and Emperor Bunjamín is no exception, it is unknown whether the Empress accepted the donations.
The First Fleet however rapidly moved from Port Swedes to Hafndam, Wrnuke's largest naval base, this is where the ships were resupplied and given additional crew members for the upcoming showdown between the Empire and Istalia. The First Fleet was even reinforced with additional air defence frigates and several submarines before being sent into the Majatran Sea. A separate submarine wolfpack has already been engaging Istalian ships around its coastline. Commander-General Nurem Lohn-Ginsl, the Empire's Chief of Staff, stated that Wrnuke's I. Vlótzgrsho will focus on establishing a 'no fly zone' above Istalia. The missile carrying frigates will then strike military targets across Istalia, these can be radar installations, military barracks, airfields, anti-air installations, and all other military systems that could delay an invasion. Wrnuke's air detachment will also continue to disable military targets. The final goal is to fully clear Istalia for a Pntek invasion. "In the end the infantrymen and marines from Pontesi must do the final push, we are simply clearing the way for them," said Commander-General Lohn-Ginsl in the press conference earlier today. The Kingdom of Wrnuke will use short range ballistic missiles together with precision strike missiles from its naval vessels, the advanced Z-35 fighter jets of the Jelbic Kingdom will utilise air-to-surface missiles to accomplish their operational goals. Several detachments of Wrnuke's royal marines are on standby for invasion but for now it seems that the Empire intends to just let Pontesi forces invade Istalia. It is also rumoured that the Archduke of Banstill, Wrntukai Banmek-Sntazed, has requested a transfer from the II. Vlótzgrsho in Vascania to gain frontline combat experience with the I. Vlótzgrsho. An inside source reported the Emperor personally issued a veto in regards to his firstborn son's request, so far Wiel has refused to comment. For now however Wrnuke's main combat fleet is bombing Istalia, time will tell how the international community will respond.

Wiel ends treaty with Fajroturo
6 June 5581, Wiel, Kingdom of Wrnuke, Empire of the Jelbic Peoples
Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez arriving in his Air Forces General's uniform, mandatory during wartime, at Wrnuke's parliament.
The Kingdom of Wrnuke has declared recent Zardic actions the 'final straw' in the recently difficult relationship between the two nations. After a short debate led by Prefect Grzkai Krlmékez moved Wrnuke's 225 seat parliament to a quick vote, which ended unanimously in favour of severing the long-standing treaty between the two nations. In recent years the relations between Zardugal and Wrnuke have been quite tense, with the Kingdom accusing Zardugal of letting cartels smuggle drugs into Jelbe and the south of Wrnuke. The ascension of Director Gropo strained relations even more, the current chief executive of Zardugal is known as an ardent anti-Jelbic statesman. Up until now Wiel has always ignored this fact but the commitment of Zardugal to send paid volunteers to Istalia was too much for the nation to bear. Prefect Krlmékez called for the nation's representatives to act decisively: "Zardugal has shown their true colours by paying their own soldiers to assist Istalia in killing innocent citizens of the Empire."
With the conclusion of the vote the Prefect announced he would seek more ways to "discourage the current Zardic course of action". Krlmékez refused to elaborate on the statement, but the Minister of Trade & Industry, Princess Sófz, revealed that the Kingdom of Wrnuke is contemplating to propose severe sanctions on Zardugal in the Great Council of the Empire. A unified set of sanctions could have great consequences for Zardugal, which still has some trading links with the northern Majatran nations. For now however Wrnuke's actions seem to be limited to dissolving the treaty between the two nations, which means the non-aggression pact that once existed is now off the table. Hawkish pundits within Wrnuke have already called for swift military action to "destroy the socialist threat" but Wiel has vehemently rejected these sentiments.

United Command launches Operation Aked Snta
14 May 5579, White Ocean, south of Istalia (Backdated)
The KJW Smebék Vrn-Salyzr, a Snba Prtastat-class frigate, firing one of many Adésfrj missiles at Istalian targets.
The Empire of the Jelbic Peoples and the Holy Luthorian Empire have formed the United Alliance Command, or as the Empire calls it the Krsyiji Buntjogad Shlajokai Jelbek'aigrm (United Alliance Fighter Horde). The unitary command is primarily under Jelbic leadership, with several Luthorian officers also joining the staff. The combined operation now consists of the nations of Pontesi, Wrnuke, Beiteynu, the Dual Republic and the Holy Luthorian Empire. The other imperial member states of Barmenistan and Jelbe have been given explicit tasks to guard the Empire against any other threats and have joined the northern troops to destroy the last remnants of Istalian forces in Pontesi. The operation has been named Aked Snta, or Red South, by the KBSJ and it sees forces striking Istalia from several directions. Long-range air force units from Luthori are expected to strike from air bases in Mordusia, which is right across the Sea of Lost Souls. Pontesi and Beiteynu are expected to do their own strikes from the same Sea, using the pass between the Istalian mainland and its island of Aloria as their staging 'grounds'. Wrnuke however has sent hteir I. Vlótzgrsho through the Grand Canal, this narrow man-made canal cuts through the narrowest part of Wrnuke and gives the Jelbic Kingdom access to the Red Bass Ocean from the Majatran Sea. The flagship fleet then sailed around Cobura's cape to end on the southern side of Istalia in the White Ocean.
The united command between the Jelbic Empire and Luthori has given every participating member a specific task. For Wrnuke and Luthori the main role is to disable Istalia, the air forces and navies of both nations will coordinate carefully to strike high value targets within Istalia. The first strike came when the First Fleet launched its Adésfrj missiles at anti-air targets in Istalia, with a second strike specifically targetting airfields. Luthorian vessels aided in this endeavour, with several joining the First Fleet to do further precision strikes. Wrnuke's Z-35 fighters have been launched from its aircraft carrier KJW Támnr in the early hours to attack airfields, disable radar systems and target known fortifications and troop formations. Admiral Knéhard Prinzsrmo, the current supreme commander of the KBSJ, has spoken about a successful mission: "Operation Red South has gone off and reached the first goals we set, my thanks go out to our Beiteynuese brothers and our new Luthorian partners, the ships from Beiteynu have assured that our operation was not under threat from another strike. The cooperation with the Luthorian colleagues is going well, this is a great step to a grand victory." It is expected that the bombing campaign will last for several more days before the Jelbic ground invasion of Istalia begins.
