The latest national election results have sparked admiration across the country, as the Green Party emerged as the overwhelming victor, securing 29.5% of the vote compared to the Anipotakti Aristera’s mere 18.5%.

The resounding win of the Greens has stirred strong reactions domestically, with right-wing and far-right voters voicing deep dissatisfaction about the future policies of a green-led government. It’s worth noting that the Greens have governed the country for the past two four-year terms through coalition governments — a path they intend to continue. Specifically, the new President of the Republic, Iordanis Sylkesios, elected by the Oikologoi , declared that he will work closely with the Rizospastiki Neolea, as they share a common goal: the prosperity of the country.

Over recent years, the country’s public finances have seen significant improvement thanks to the joint reforms of these two parties. But let us take a closer look at what they have accomplished in their time in power. Most notably, they ensured the independence of the judiciary and the prosecutorial authorities, restructured the political system around ministerial accountability, decentralized power while upgrading local governance, and boosted the production of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) goods that are unique to Kalopia. Furthermore, they strengthened the country’s global standing by ensuring the protection of its citizens and its stance of neutrality.

Today’s government is composed of young people who have left behind the wounds of the past and are striving to offer a better life to the generations yet to come.

Who is to blame?

 It is truly shocking to witness your own country being dragged down the road of destruction, a path that some desperately seek to pave. Certain individuals exploit the privileges of the political system, others live at the expense of the citizens, while some strive to destroy our nation through various economic policies. But who is to blame? Who led our country into this dire state, and how can it be changed?

The fate of our nation was unfortunately predetermined by the mistakes of the past, from the errors of monarchs to the era of bipartisan rule. In my opinion, such a unique system can only lead to further confusion within public opinion. Bipartisanship is not a true form of democracy for our country. It is nearly impossible for everyone to be represented by only two class-based parties of power, whose primary interest lies in corrupting our society. It is, after all, a fact that our country lost its prestige after the fall of multiparty governance and the rise of bipartisanism, with the main parties being the Anipotakti Aristera , which, compared to the Libertarians, did offer substantial help to our country. However, that era has come to an end. The Anipotakti Aristera is now rapidly losing voters due to its inability to govern effectively in accordance with the will of the people. On the horizon, new parties have emerged—the Oikologoi , the Rizospastiki Neolaia, among others.

The current problem in our country, clearly the economy and leadership, requires time and dedication to improve. Over the past four years, we have seen a slight increase in economic indicators and a refined version of the political system, yet this has not been enough to ease the public’s disappointment. The new Green–Radical Youth government appears quite optimistic, as they possess all the necessary qualities to adequately respond to society’s demands. Just a few days ago, the President of the Republic announced the party’s new government program, aiming to highlight the national identity of the country and promote economic development. A core pillar of this program is to ensure confidence in the credit sector, restructure the banking system, and foster the growth of new national and private companies to secure a stable path for our economic progress.

Furthermore, he affirmed the need to safeguard certain human rights in the country through new legislation that will bring about total equality and equal justice in Kalopia. Finally, a government action plan was announced concerning the protection of all animals in the country, and later of the global community, through the creation of the world’s largest animal sanctuary. This is a complex and challenging undertaking that will come at a significant cost to the country, but it represents a tremendous challenge for humanity and the planet. If successful, it will mean the protection of all animals from the relentless human impulse to slaughter them indiscriminately.

BREAKING NEWS: The President announces the first minimum wage increase in two decades

In a bold and historic move, the President of the Republic, alongside the Cabinet, has announced today a significant and long-overdue increase to the minimum wage, the first such change in 20 years. This major decision will raise the income of a large portion of the population, marking a turning point in the nation’s economic policy.

The last time the minimum wage was adjusted was two decades ago by the government of the Anypotakti Aristera , when it was raised from 1,060 WAN to 1,100 WAN. Today, the minimum wage will rise to 1,240 WAN. No changes are foreseen regarding taxation, as this increase does not affect the current tax legislation in force.

When it comes to the bill’s passage through Parliament, it is expected to be supported by the Oikologoi, Rizospastiki Neolaia, Anipotakti Aristera, Rizes kai Proodos, and Laiki Dexia. Opposing the bill are the Fileleftheroi Party and Laiki Antistasi. The Fileleftheroi Party leader stated the following during the session:

As the leader of my party and the principal voice of liberal policy in this country, I must ask: what exactly was the rationale behind such a meager increase to the minimum wage? How can we speak of progress when the average citizen still earns a mere 1,240 WAN? Why is this increase not accompanied by appropriate taxation?

Stop catering to the whims of the far-left parties and start acting responsibly… though, we expect little more from a government of vegetables and toddlers.

The Fileleftheroi Party leader’s speech triggered uproar in the Parliament, with strong reactions especially from the Rizospastiki Neolaia, a party often criticized for its composition of young activists and students.

In his main address, the President of the Republic also announced that, in the coming days, the government will formally present to Parliament its plan for the creation of the largest animal sanctuary in the world. This really impressive and radical plan  signals Kalopia’s entry into a new era of green ideals and progressive governance.

 Kalopia criminalizes animal abuse and bans the use of animals for beauty products. What does this mean for non-cruelty-free companies?

With the support of five parties, the criminalization and banning of animal cruelty officially becomes law after many years of discussion on the issue.

More specifically, the new legislation recognizes all animals on the planet as sentient beings, creatures with a soul, capable of feeling pain and emotions—who must be given proper care and legal protection..It is worth noting that the bill explicitly bans the exploitation of animals for entertainment purposes. Every circus operating in the country that includes animals in its program will receive a fine of 100,000 WAN and up to 7 years of imprisonment. Furthermore, it will be forbidden to use animals in the production of cosmetic products, medicine, and in their exploitation for clothing production, e.g. leather, fur.

Perhaps one of the most extreme articles of the bill is that all companies, whether local or foreign, are required to have a legal compatibility certificate, which will certify that each company does not use animals for its benefit. Any company, local or foreign, that does not comply with the legislation will be included in the “Blacklist” and will have its business license revoked (including fines and possible imprisonment).

Regarding education, the bill provides for the mandatory teaching of all students about animal rights, environmental protection, and the sustainability of endangered species. Teachers will be required to attend special seminars for their further training on this topic. Also, every school in the country will have a vegetable garden where children will be able to learn to grow their food and honor their ancestors. Additionally, new trees will be planted, and specially designed spaces will be created for the protection of rare plants and flowers. I wish I were a student…

However, regarding the debate in parliament, great unrest arose after the intervention of a Fileleftheroi Party MP, who stated:

Just the fact that you sit and write such foolish bills, gentlemen of the government, shows the common people the level of your thinking. What else are we going to see in this country? Passports for animals?

Even if you find yourself on the margins, alone and cut off from the rest of the world, there is always hope somewhere in another corner of it.

It is truly remarkable that four foreign countries have offered to assist and support our nation in this challenging endeavor we are about to undertake. A small country that dares to achieve the impossible. I am referring, of course, to the government’s groundbreaking plan to lead our nation down a new, greener, and more ecological path. Egelion, Istalia, Xsampa and Luthori are the four nations that will contribute to the development of our economy and our future.

But this is not just the opening of an investment pathway — it is also the beginning of deeper trade relations. Egelion, in particular, is already one of our major trading partners, with a significant amount of high-quality extra virgin olive oil exported there.

This is undoubtedly a historic moment for our country  but how long will it last? Life in Majatra has never been easy, and history has proven this time and again. Money, stock markets and wars have deeply distorted our reality, leaving us at the mercy of the Great Powers.

Who doesn’t love olive oil?

 Everyone dreams of enjoying our country’s traditional salad, generously drizzled with premium extra virgin olive oil. According to the latest data from the National Agricultural Statistics Agency, the coming month is expected to be the most fruitful on record, with unprecedented levels of olive production.

Farmers in Wantuni are preparing for the largest harvest of olives, olive oil, and pomace oil ever recorded in the history of Kalopia. It is worth noting that our country has already secured a leading position in global olive oil production and judging by recent figures, Kalopia is set to become one of the world’s top olive producers. This will allow us to expand exports of our extra virgin olive oil to even more international markets, at record-breaking global prices.

The industry giant Helios Olive Oil has announced a restructuring of retail prices, with the most affordable product starting at 3.5 WAN and premium varieties reaching up to 43 WAN. Additionally, the company plans to launch its products in new markets — the largest being Egelion, where tons of oil are already being exported regularly. It remains to be seen which new markets will seek to enjoy this divine product.

But how can Kalopia maintain its status as a global leader in olive production? 

In an official statement from the Presidential Palace, it was announced that a bill will be submitted to Parliament in the coming days to safeguard all agricultural lands particularly those cultivating goods unique to Kalopia. With funding from the state budget, subsidies will be allocated to agricultural cooperatives across the country, along with new equipment and an updated production program, aiming to strengthen and modernize our agricultural economy

Despite adverse conditions, it has become a reality. The green transition is no longer a distant dream but a tangible development that will lead our country into a new, greener and more sustainable era. In fact, the first phase of the green reform is officially set to begin after years of continuous preparation. This marks a radical transformation in both the lifestyle of our citizens and the overall functioning of the state.

Specifically, following the acquisition of international support, the first stage of the green transition focuses on the structural transformation of urban areas. The government aims to enrich our cities with green spaces that will bring a renewed sense of atmosphere and quality to our daily lives. The creation of Aether Gardens, the largest park in the country, has been officially announced. It will cover a substantial portion of the urban landscape of the city of Helios and will be filled with local flowers and plants, endangered species, and rare fruit-bearing trees.

Although further details have not yet been disclosed, it is known that the management of the parks will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant ministry. In addition to the announcement of Aether Gardens, the government revealed that the state-owned energy company WANergy, in collaboration with the private company EcoVolt – Kalopia, will jointly provide green electricity through the development of new solar parks in areas completely overtaken by desertification.

Despite some opposition, the plan is moving forward as scheduled. Both the park and the photovoltaic installations are expected to be completed within the next two years. Time will tell.

Anipotakti Aristera, after years of being at the bottom of the electoral rankings, has now returned to the top, having won the vote of the people, while the Oikologoi fall to second place by a noticeable margin.

Many political analysts believe that this development and dramatic shift in the political landscape is expected to bring radical changes to the foundations of society. A socialist government must now face the rise of the far right in the country while also correcting the actions of previous governments…
