The President Inaugurates New Iron Factory

Our great President, Feroz Hanif, has today inaugurated the new Medinco Iron Factory , which will hire an initial 40 people. The factory is located in Turab, one of the biggest coastal cities. The factory will produce Steel to be used in our countries great economy, or alternatively to be sold on the international open market and strengthening our countries global market share.

The President does this in a new hostile environment, as extremist bandits plague the country from within and outside our beautiful country. Our Leader shows immense compassion and courage in undertaking this ceremony and reminds us why election after election the United People's Congress, with it's diverse and expansive participating groups, has chosen Hanif as the leader to represent the interests of all the people.

President Hanif Praises Armed Forces, Vows to Continue Combating Terror
 Our President, Feroz Hanif, has continued carrying out his duties and building upon his previous work as the nation’s leader. He has reaffirmed the progress made by our Armed Forces in combating public terror posed by the Communists and Abadiists.
  He also reaffirmed his trust in the leader of the Armed Forces, Defense Minister and loyal public servant, Masoud Haneef.
  “Haneef has proven time and time again his ability to defend our nation’s stability and the people it represents. Be it against the Abadiist insurgency led by the Abadii Liberation Army in the Western Plains, or against the treacherous Communists of the Communist Action Party waging terror upon citizens and industrialists in the south, our operations against these groups have proceeded smoothly thanks to his leadership.”
  Hanif stated that the fight against these groups has continued smoothly, but emphasized that national unity must be maintained for this progress to continue.
  These statements come amid complaints from representatives of the Workers’ Party within the National Unity Party regarding Hanif’s liberalization of the labour market and restrictions on trade union activity. Gul Ferosa, vice president of the party, claims these moves undermine the power of labour unions within the National Labour Organization (NLO).
  Hanif responded by reminding Gul that these measures are necessary to curb communist influence within labour unions and to pave the way for future growth. He further emphasized that these unions are able to represent workers only as a result of his establishment of the NLO.
  We at The Medina Times believe that our great President will be able to smooth out these challenges and pave the way for further glory and progress, as he has done before.

President Expresses Interest in New Economic Assistance Bloc, Reaffirms Support for National Sovereignty
  The President has praised the conditions stipulated in the treaty, calling them fair and balanced, and has expressed interest in joining the bloc. He explained that membership would serve as a major driver of progress and growth for the country.
  According to analysts at the Ministry of Finance, joining the bloc would result in increased prosperity for Medina, while enabling Medina’s corporations to expand their influence on the global market—paving the way for a world that uses Medina’s spectacular steel in buildings across the globe.
  Demonstrating prudence, Hanif reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Medina’s sovereignty and stated that he would withdraw from the treaty should it threaten the nation’s independence.

National Unity Party Representatives Gather Again, President’s Hard-Line Crackdown Praised!

Today, at around 10 AM, the National Unity Party’s member groups gathered once more to voice their opinions on the direction of the government.

The Medina People’s Party (MPP), the President’s party, was represented by the current Vice President, Ali Hadi. The long-dominant party holds around 50% of the seats in government and claims to represent the interests of the country as a whole. Despite this claim, it has faced now-suppressed protests over widespread corruption, as well as ongoing insurgencies by Communist groups in the industrial south and Abadiist groups in the Western Plains.

The Ahmadii Union Group, which advocates for Ahmadiist governance and interests within the government, was represented by former religious leader turned politician Abdullah Chaudhary. The party holds the second-largest number of seats after Hanif’s MPP, totaling around 25% of the seats in government. It has consistently supported President Hanif throughout his tenure.

The smallest group, the Workers’ Party, was represented by its president, Samir Al-Zaouri. The party was originally supposed to be represented by the Labour Leader and Vice President, Gul Ferosa; however, he is believed to be in conflict with the government over his criticism of Hanif’s recent labour policies and his organisation of labour strikes in the southern cities at Medinco’s factories. The party currently holds around 15% of the seats, a stark reduction from its all-time high of 40% sixteen years ago.

All three groups praised the President’s hardline policies toward insurgents and protestors. His economic policies, which have largely benefited corporations tied to Hanif’s allies, such as Medinco and Arigato, also received praise.
The president of the Workers’ Party was the only figure to voice anything approaching criticism during the meeting. He expressed the need for softer labour policies and a potential increase in the welfare budget. According to him, these measures are necessary to counteract growing public discontent, reduce increasing tensions among grassroots party members in the south, and maintain the support of labour unions. He added that such steps would also aid in the fight against the Communist Action Party, which is currently the main force behind the low-level insurgency in the south and is believed to be gaining supporters across the country.

While these observations are largely accurate, it remains unlikely that Hanif’s government will change its position on these issues and will instead continue full steam ahead. The government’s subjugation of the Workers’ Party into near non-existence is also likely to continue, despite the party’s ongoing support for — and complicity with — the government.

President Praised For Hard Work! Collaboration With Egelion!

 Our Great President, Fenoz Harif, has today once again been praised for his handling of the issues plaguing our country by representatives of the National Unity Party (NUP). His firm and tasteful handling of rioters and terrorists alike was commended by figures from across the political spectrum.

 The Workers’ Party has also shown gradual improvement in its attitude toward the direction of the country, though it may still be left behind in our nation’s march toward the future.

In other news, Egelion’s Royal Councillor Mondragon arrived in our country today to discuss cooperation between our nations. Egelion’s ministers met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gullan Alia, at the Palace of the Republic. The two delegations reaffirmed their commitment to advancing both nations’ industries and cultures. As a sign of goodwill on Egelion’s part, they have decided to open an office of the Real Academia in our nation’s magnificent capital, Ahmadiibad.

This cooperation is expected to lead to increased trade and GDP between our countries, strengthening economic growth and exporting our cultural and religious ideas to the people of Egelion.

This marks yet another great step in our nation’s march toward the future. As always, we thank our gracious President for his skill as a leader and statesman.

Medina's and Egelion's Bourgeois Join Hand in Hand To Oppress The Proletariat. The Revolution Marches On!

 While the Workers’ Struggle unfolds across the country in response to the present corruption of the state and its repression, the bourgeois President organizes yet another humiliating ritual. In this spectacle, his allies—and even the party supposedly meant to represent the workers, the Workers’ Party—are forced to sing Hanif’s praises for his so-called “stunning courage” in oppressing the proletariat. How far the Party has fallen! This is a reminder of why only when socialist parties are in power can workers truly be represented. Anything less is a bourgeois dictatorship.

Hanif and his cronies have also chosen to cooperate with the Kingdom of Egelion in order to further oppress the proletariat. They have openly stated their intent to collaborate to increase the wealth of the national bourgeoisie at the expense of the workers. As a sign of support for our country’s capitalist regime, they have chosen to open an office for the Real Academia of Egelion, further bombarding the population with bourgeois propaganda.

Though some of it may come with a twist. Alongside the usual propaganda for our bourgeois republic, we will now be subjected to monarchist propaganda as well. This idea, which we believed to be long buried and dead in our country, may actually return. Considering how Hanif governs, it might be more accurate to say that monarchist ideas never truly left our country at all.

Thankfully, we of the Communist Action Party are advancing in our fight for the liberation of the Medinan proletariat—and the proletariat of the world.

Mixed Reactions To DEAB Response In Government. Hanif Attempts Bypass Of Treaty Conditions.

 After the DEB's response to Medinan membership, government ministers have had mixed reactions. The current Minister of Defense, Masoud Haneef, allegedly cursed the Dovani Economic Bloc. According to an anonymous source close to the minister, he's been quoted as saying 
  "Those eggheads over in Bianjie and Xsampa claim that we need to cooperate with the very people undermining our Republic! They claim that we need to join together with the people whose mere presence is an affront to the values the people of Medina stand for! We will have none of that! If they don't want to help we'll seek other allies and crush these internal dissidents! They will learn not to have made enemies of Medina!"
  On the other hand, the surprisingly more rational President has asked that his country be allowed some degree of participation in the benefits of participation in the DEAB's benefits, he has also said that he would be willing to accept military aid and training from member's of the DEAB in order to guarantee the fulfillment of the original conditions for entry into the organization. 
  He has expressed disdain towards the idea of creating a temporary government alliance to facilitate peace and the entry into the DEAB. "The people we are fighting here are terrorists! If we give them a cm they take a km. Any form of cooperation or truce will only result in the resumption of hostilities after they've rebuilt their armies!"

Revisionists Of Xsampa Embolden Bourgeois Terror! Asks Communists To Surrender Their Struggle!

 While worker's are being shot at for demanding to be treated with basic human dignity, the once mighty Xsampa Communist Party (XCP) endeavours  the people of Medina to lay down their arms and work hand in hand with the very people sucking the marrow out of them! In exchange for a one sided deal that would pretty much exclusively benefit the bourgeois government and allow for the continuation of their terror upon the populace, the CAP would be required to put down it's arms and contribute to this sick machine of torture called a 'state'.

  It is sad to see how much the XCP has fallen in recent years. Once a great beacon for the proletariat struggle across the world, it now defends the very system that it had spent most of its existence fighting against! 

  We here at the CAP will however not stop! Our fight will continue to the very day that every factory, business and farms flies a red banner for socialism! We will struggle until we force the bourgeois oppressors into the sea and we will not stop to satisfy the wants of the Xsampa "Communist" Party.

Economic Report On Medina

  Medina, officially known as the Republic of Medina, with a population of around 90 million as of 5710. It is located on the Dovani continent, neighbouring Xsampa and South Dovani to the North and Yerrawa to the South-West. 
  The country is divided into 4 provinces: Modon, Al-Maram, Perin and Tippa. Geographically, Medina is  diverse, ranging from the mountainous North-West (home to some of the world’s highest peaks) to fertile plains, and a long coastline.
 The country is classified as a developing economy. With a nominal GDP of around 131.6 billion fleur and a GDP per capita of around 1300 fleurs. The country is a mixed market economy with private and state enterprise being an important part of economy. The country is rich in natural resources,the processing and export of which make up around 50% of GDP. The country also boasts large swaths of fertile land, especially in the western province of Perin. The use of this land has been made difficult by the lack of infrastructure and governance in the west, as well as the recent rise of the Abadii Liberation Army in the area due to increased crackdown by the government on Abadii religious freedoms.
  The country boasts a large labour force of around 20 million. Around 50% of workers have completed secondary education and around 25% of them would go on to reach tertiary level education. Around 70 % has completed primary education. Around 30% is classified as uneducated. The literacy rate stands at around 75%. Access to and quality of education is poor, with most children in rural areas lacking access to educational facilities. Most schools use outdated textbooks and suffer from a shortage of teachers and materials. Malnutrition is generally prevalent in the populace with around 73% unable to afford a healthy diet. Around 30% of children under 5 suffer from chronic malnutrition and 17% are wasted. Access to and quality of healthcare is also lacking. 
 Around 40% of the workers is employed in agriculture, 35% in industry and manufacturing and the rest are mostly employed in tourism. The economy is mostly dominated by two  conglomerates, Aramco and Medinco, as well as numerous state owned companies. The economy has been experiencing a rapid decline in recent years, in the wake of financial scandals, violent crackdowns on protests and the reemergence of insurgents against the state. The country also suffers from widespread corruption and weak governance in large parts of the country. Inflation and borrowing have increased drastically following the renewed insurgencies. The country has also been denied into regional economic alliances such as the DEAB, though it has received economic aid from Egelion.
  The economic and developmental situation in the country is tenuous and will require much reform and investment on part of the state. Once the political situation has been resolved, the government should seek to improve access to transport, healthcare and education in rural areas. It should also seek broad improvements in public services and transport infrastructure. It is recommended that the state improve it's revenue base by improving taxation efficiency. The state should seek development and investments into agriculture in the Perin region. The region is a gold mine for economic growth. It is also recommended that a more inclusive government is sought in order to curb corruption.

Medina Takes Up Arms! Ministry Of Defense And Ministry of Intelligence Purchase Arms and Equipment!

  The Hanif government has announced the purchase of 400 million fleurs worth of armaments and equipment for the army, police and intelligence services. 
  The MoD referred to this decision as "welcome" and "necessary". The MoD and General of the Armed Forces, Masoud Haneef, has stated that with the purchase of these new armaments, the rebellion would be quashed in no time and that peace and stability will soon return to the country. 
 The Armed Forces hopes that the new armaments will be used to boost the Gendarmerie and the Infantry Divisions of the Army. The newly purchased equipment will also be provided to the Minister of the Interior and Intelligence,in a bid to improve surveillance and counter terrorism measures against the insurgents.
