Keymon Legislature Votes to Have Governmental Control Over Coastal Vrassa

The Keymon Senate has voted to have the Keymon Government hold governmental control over Coastal Vrassa.

The Government Powers in Coastal Vrassa Act of 4523 is set to pass with 100% of the senate’s approval.

The K.L.F, the party that completely controls the government and nation, has stated that Coastal Vrassa is simply a peacekeeping area however it “requires governance and order to benefit from our peacekeeping”.

The bill proposed by the KLF gives the government of Keymon the right to make laws and/or acts about economic, political, legislative, military and social things.

However the bill also gives the Keymon government the obligation to “guarantee the safety of the people of Coastal Vrassa from both economic and military attacks”.

The Keymon President Antioga Itria has stated that-

This is simply a peacekeeping mission. While we are establishing a government in Coastal Vrassa, this shouldn’t be misconstrued as an attempt at colonization. This is simply an attempt to guarantee the stability of the region, through peaceful methods of fencing the populous.

NOWOGARD - For the first time since the beginning of the crisis in Kalistan. Until now Nowogard refrained from taking any stance on the issues of internal instabilities in Kalistan, as well as on the issue of Ananto Strait crisis. Now, as the Government of Keymon announced that it established its puppet government in Vrassa on the territories controlled due to the presence of their armed forces, stationed there as a part of Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping operation, which according to Nowogard has been established illegally and with numerous violations of the international laws and statutes. The ministry for foreign affairs of Valruzia released a brief report in which the official stance of the government has been presented to the public.

Nowogard strongly condemned Keymon for its actions and announced that its actions have been classified as hostile aggression on the sovereign and independent nation of Kalistan. Council of Ministers has announced that within 24 hours a monitoring naval operation will be deployed to monitor the situation on the coasts of Vrassa to check for any illegal weapons or troops being transported to Vrassa. MOND (Ministry of National Defense) announced that every cargo and passenger vessel including those with military registration will be forced to list all cargo and passengers before continuing its journey to Vrassa. It is sure that at least four operational groups formed of vessels of the Defense Navy will be deployed to conduct the operations. MOND announced that ORW Valparaiso corvette and other vessels of this class will be used in the operations.

Valruzia strongly opposed the military presence of non-Seleyan forces on the Seleyan continent and said that the matters of Kalistan should be resolved within Kalistan and by Kalistani people themselves. According to Nowogard Keymon conducted aggression under the cover of peacebuilding operation. Nowogard has already issued a warning note to the Government of Keymon. The ministry for foreign affairs announced that it will reach out to Government in Kaliburg to work on the solution. MOND at the same time announced that a multi-billion dollar deal has been signed with the  Conservative Army of Kalistan for the delivery of 7 new Valparaiso-class corvettes, 5 Type 1 Submarines and 24 M-24 "Lynx" multirole aircraft.

Ministry of Defense States That Any Stopping of Troops From Valruzia Will Be Consideted a Declaration

The Ministry of Defense has responded to the Valruzian governments statement that it would search Vrassa for “illegal weapons and troops”.

The MoD released a press statement concerning the Valruzian government’s threats:

Since the Valruzian government are apparently misinformed about this decision, we shall inform them.

Coastal Vrassa is not considered a separate government nor as a part of Keymon. It is an area that has its laws temporarily decided by the Senate of Keymon. The key word in that statement is temporary.

Once the crisis currently occurring in Kalistan ceases, we shall hand over control of Coastal Vrassa to the legitimate government of Kalistan, whichever one is officially delcared legitimate by the nation.

However Valruzia, in a blatant attempt to attack Keymon, has decided to instead of assisting us in our peacekeeping operation, would rather attack our efforts.

The official Kalistani government and provisional government of Kalistan have agreed that this isn’t an act of aggression against them and instead is simply an act of peacekeeping and defense of the civilians of Kalistan from war and attacks.

If the Valruzian government attacks the area of Coastal Vrassa or attack Keymon ships, then it will be considered a declaration of war against Keymon and will be met with full retaliation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has restated this fact and has added upon that saying:

The area known as Coastal Vrassa is not a puppet state. It has an independent local government system that we respect and leave almost all laws to.

They’re independent of Keymon except for necessary laws that are considered necessary for Turtle Bay to approve of.

The status quo is dead. We now have two separate governments at war. These things always have one casualty. Civilians. We’ve created an area where citizens can stay without threat of destruction and death. The Valruzians want citizens to die. We don’t. We open our arms to all Kalistani citizens wishing to take refuge from violence and fear.

We will fight any nation that attacks the small stronghold of peace in Kalistan.

The Legislative Assembly, the local legislative body of Coastal Vrassa, has reasserted that while it is not an independent nation in Kalistan, it will not accept either government until the war has ended.

Currently the Keymon Navy has begone patrolling the shores of Vrassa and has stated its intention to defend its ally.

Investors in Keymon-based Stocks cheer rally following prolonged slump

Stocks traded in the Kalsie which are heavily leveraged by Keymonese investors took a surprise jump throughout the trading day today.  KalMD, which controls several assets in Keymon and has been brought into heavily by Keymonese investors, as well as several well known resorts in Kalistan, and a basket of 14 other companies, all of which have more than 15% Keymonese ownership have been experiencing a slump since the beginning of the year but inexplicably jumped this afternoon, on news that Keymon is urging peace in the region.

"I've never seen anything like it, in my 15 years of trading," said stock broker Felicia Kay, who specializes in what has come to be known as the "Keymon Portfolio".  "Usually these stocks are lower yield, safer investments, which are used to hedge more risky investments elsewhere in the market.  This jump is going to make a lot of people, Kalistani investors and Keymonese investors, very rich and very happy."

Analysts conclude that the double digit jump in stock price accompanied by high volume trading was not normal, but ruled out any sort of market manipulation.  "The price jump is more than a standard deviation off the norm," said Kaliburg Polytechnic economic s professor Len Vivaldi.  "But it is within two standard deviations.  Sometimes people just have 'good days', and this seems like an extraordinarily good day for many investors."

The value of the stock increase was just under 6.8 billion Kalistani Rubles, with just over 1.7 billion Rubles going into the spending caps of Keymon investors.  Other stock performance was more moderate, and the NDC stocks were down just under 1% at closing, due to the continued refusal of the Government to begin military procurement or modernization of any sort.

Socialists claim responsibility for this Cineplex fire in Downtown Yoshimi, which killed two elderly residents

Socialists affiliated with the Revolutionary Socialist Militia of Kalistan have claimed several explosions, shutdowns and incidents of vandalism across the Republic within the last month.

A masked individual, who identified himself as Ramon, a Commander in the Militia, claimed to speak on behalf of the Militia.  "We will force the Government to respond, or we will throw them off.  They are letting the Republic fall apart.  See here?  They can't even keep their movie theaters from blowing up, their cars from spontaneously combusting in the middle of an intersection in Kaliburg, or their train cars on train tracks as they go over bridges.  Since our government refuses to govern, these acts designed to illuminate the utter incompetence of the President and the gang of Thugs which claim to govern this country will continue."

Among the acts of sabotage attributed to the socialist militia:

1) Placing dye packs usually used for catching bank robbers into cereal boxes of privatized food corporations in Kluptoon, so they will explode harmless but indelible ink all over unsuspecting cereal eaters

2)  Dousing concert goers at a Dulnerstaad show which featured the well known Patriot League-endorsing band "The Fountainheads" with liquefied mercaptan, which is the additive usually used to give natural gas its rotten egg smell.  One of the audience reported smelling like "nasty breath, dogsh-t and rotten cabbage" for two days following the show.

3)  Sabotage of the heating elements of the popcorn poppers at G&H Cinaplex in Yoshimi, causing them to overheat the oil and start the concession stand on fire (this act actually caused the death of 2 old theatergoers, due to the resulting stampede.  The theater subsequently burst into flames and was entirely burned out inside.)

4)  The intentional grounding of Ferry 35 and 42 of the National Ferry Service between Ananto and the Mainland on King's Rock.  Both ferries were carrying Deputies from the Government Parties from Odufaray.  Both ferries were rendered entirely unservicable by the grounding and were rapidly disassembled to prevent usage by the inmates.  The Deputies, numbering 7 in all (4 from the PL and 3 from the LDP) were "guests" of the criminals on the Rock for more than 6 hours each while police were dispatched to collect them.  The Ferry operators, both Socialist Partisans, were arrested on the scene.

5) three incidents of "spontaneous combustion" of MoCo vehicles in busy intersections just before morning rush hour in Kaliburg.

6)  explosion of illegal fireworks outside the residence of the Premier for three nights a week.  Police responded in one such incident, and shot three Socialist partisans responsible for the fireworks demonstrations.  All three were declared dead on the scene, while police claimed that their guns accidentally discharged while attempting to peacefully resolve the matter.

The Spokesman Ramon intoned a warning:  "Sabotage will not end across the Republic.  There is not a symbol of the current Government that we won't aim to take down, and there is not a sign of the Privatization dictates which will remain safe.  Remember:  We are among you:  You cannot identify us all, let alone arrest us all."

NOWOGARD - Government of Valruzia has announced its long-term aims in the sphere of international relationships with other nations in Seleya. Ministry for Foreign Defense released a document which constitutes an official policy of the government for the upcoming 25 years. The main and most important goal of the policy will be to re-establish the Seleyan Union as a community of peace-loving, democratic nations which coexist within the frames of a single market and mutual respect for multicultural diversity of the continent. The government wants Valruzia to be the motor of the new wave of integration in Seleya as more and more internal instabilities and a near outbreak of civil wars looms over Kalistan which once was the engine of the economic integration of the continent. It is certain that Valruzia will set off to convince other nations to join and to promote the Seleyan Union. However, Nowogard admits that the old Union is in an urgent need for structural reforms and tightening the cooperation on all levels from political through economic to the social level.

As the document admits the process will be long-lasting and extremely difficult to conduct as reluctance and sometimes the inability to notice the positive effects of the integration by the national legislatures and governments effectively slow down the process of economic and political integration. The vision of sharing their competences with the supranational body causes Seleyaskeptic parties to call for its dissolution as it endangers the sovereignty of their nation. However, the MFA in its document points out that never in the history of the SU and its treaties, the sovereignty of any nation was put at risk and that nations within Seleya should be an example for the rest of Terra in terms of respect for peace, democracy, and human rights.

In the same document, MFA calls for fast and complex solutions allowing for even greater integration. Nowogard wants to establish a customs union in Seleya which would allow creating a truly common market with no borders for goods, services, and finances. Nowogard wants all the current nations that are member states of the SU and all other Seleyan Nation which are willing to join the reformed Union to sit together and work on a new set of treaties and documents regulating the issues of the free flow of goods, services, finances and possibly citizens. It has been a centuries-old goal of the Party of National Coalition and the Liberal Party to establish the 'Seleyan Citizenship' which would give citizens of the Seleyan Union additional set of protection. For example in a scenario when a citizen of one member states remain on the territory of a non-SU state which his/her country of origin is not represented by an embassy or consular office, according to Nowogard, embassy or consulate/consular office of any other member state should take care of the SU citizen in a way that it would take care of its own citizens.

As stated above the process will be long-term and difficult to conduct but the MFA has already announced that it will look for support for its new ideas in Valruzia's closest neighbors. The MFAs delegation will visit Baltusia, Lodamun, Tukarali, and Lodamun. Together with the discussion on the new ideas for the future of SU, Nowogard wants to discuss the instabilities in Kalistan. Nowogard for over a year now has been closely monitoring the situation in Kalistan but only recently engaged in the situation with an official ultimatum issued to the Government of Keymon which wanted to implement its own government in Vrassa on a small part of territories forming the peacebuilding operations managed by the small nation of Keymon. Valruzia saw it as an act of aggression on the sovereign state of Kalistan and a move which would only incite the tensions in the URK further.

An undisclosed source confirmed that Nowogrd is planning to engage in the crisis and commit itself to find a working solution to bring back peace and stability in Kalistan. The current situation in Kalistan is extremely complex and an outbreak of civil war is at the horizon. Literally, anything may spark the further escalation of the crisis. Currently, fleets of Valruzia, Kazulia and Vanuku patrol the international waters around Kalistan and territorial waters of Kalistan to monitor the situation and act as a deterrent for further escalation of the crisis.

According to an analysis made for the Seleya Daily, it lays in the very best interest of Nowogard to invest in surrounding markets and to pursue the establishment of a single, common market as the current situation, if not addressed properly, may lead to negative consequences for the Valruzian economy. Valruzia being the most advanced country in Seleya, with an average GDD per capita of over LOD 3.400 and attractive work conditions, is the main destination of economic immigration in Seleya. The MIA report shows that in 4523 there were 2.4 million economic immigrants which is 0.3 million more when compared with the 4522. According to economists if Valruzia will not address the economic situation in Seleya it may face a rapidly growing number of economic immigrants with more than 5 million foreign citizens looking for work in Valruzia by 4530.

Keymon Defense Forces Announce Withdrawal As Coastal Vrassa Police Forces Established

The Ministry of Defense have announced that they will withdrawal all Foreign Defense Corps ground troops from Coastal Vrassa by December 4524, after a Coastal Vrassa Police Force is established.

The Ministry of Defense have announced in a press statement in Coastal Vrassa‘s Capital, Vrassa City, that it would be withdrawing from the peacekeeping area of Coastal Vrassa once a police force had been established in the region.

They also announced a deadline to establish a Coastal Vrassa Police Force, ending by December 4524.

The MoD did however state they would continue to supply the Coastal Vrassa temporary government with equipment and that the Keymon Navy would continue operations in the Antone Strait and off the coast of Vrassa to-“guarantee that piracy and aggressive activity cease”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also stated that it would open negotiations with whatever side won the Kalistan Civil War to return Coastal Vrassa to the government of Kalistan.

Some critics of the idea want Keymon to fully withdraw and “stop interfering in Kalistan politics”. Others want Keymon to conquer the entirety of Kalistan and establish a capitalist and “democratic” government.

The reason for this sudden reversal is not known, however insider sources have leaked to us that the Keymon government where threatened by not only Valruzia but other nations as well, which demanded a withdraw of troops from Kalistan.

Other sources have claimed that the K.D.F were having issues resupplying it’s forces in Kalistan and therefore left Kalistan.

Others, mainly conspiracy theorists, however have suggested this is an attempt to withdraw forces for a possible invasion of another nation, possibly Temania.

There has been no solid evidence for any of the above ideas however, and the government has refused to answer any of the above explanations. So we don’t have any idea, as of yet, what cause them to decide to withdraw.

K.D.F Fully Withdraws from Coastal Vrassa

The Keymon Defense Forces have fully withdrawn from Coastal Vrassa, as the Coastal Vrassa Police Force has taken up guaranteeing the safety of the peacekeeping area.

The 4th Vanukuean Fleet assisted with the  operation, alongside the Keymon Navy.

The Keymon President Antioga Itria made a trip to Coastal Vrassa and gave a speech to the last troops to leave Coastal Vrassa.

Great soldiers, you’ve served your nation well and bravely. Your service has greatly served to create stability in Kalistan and therefore, in the entire world.

Your service shall be greatly rewarded with both the knowledge that you defended millions from death and the fact that you’ve prevented further bloodshed in the region.

Your sacrifices shall not have been made in vain. Your sacrifices guarantee that democracy and freedom in this region shall live on in the future.

I am forever in your debt and the people of Coastal Vrassa are as well.

President Itria also made a statement concerning the continued protection of Coastal Vrassa.

If any nation threatens or attacks Coastal Vrassa, they shall face the wrath of Keymon and her allies.

The people of Coastal Vrassa are forever under the protection of Keymon and her allies.

However many soldiers and civilians do not feel gracious or appreciated, due to the withdraw.

One citizens said the following:

I don’t feel gracious for this. Why should I be gracious when the forces that are supposed to defend us are leaving? The only reason they’re leaving is because they’re too pussy to stand up to there enemies.

One soldier said this:

This is completely ridiculous! Why would we leave a peacekeeping mission after only 3 years. Why not stay here longer? Why not stay here till the war is over? Was all this for nothing?

The Coastal Vrassa Police Force have since taken up defending the peacekeeping area, however the Keymon President has promised to continue supplying the Coastal Vrassa Police Force with supplies to guarantee the safety of the peacekeeping area.

Royal Navy 1st Response Fleet in the Anantonese Ocean

Ever since Kalistani militias and local governments began to deteriorate internally, various nation from around the globe have begun to support and send aid to the government of Kalistan and its militias. The governments of Vanuku, Valruzia, Kazulia, and Keymon have been involved or are getting prepared to be involved in the country's political unrest. The Royal Assembly in Eroncourt is prepared to pass a motion to allow military intervention in Kalistan in support of the socialist and republican militias that are against the fascist and nationalist parties in government.

The Royal Navy's 1st Response Fleet has already been deployed to the Anatonese Ocean miles away from the Island of Ananto. The Ministry of Defense has declared that a full Lourennais intervention will not occur. The Ministry believes that constant support and transfer of supplies to the democratic militias in Kalistan will be enough to bring the civil war to a close. However, troops may be deployed to Kalistan if it is deemed necessary by the democratic militias. Stocks with Kalsitan have been beginning to drop as an intense civil war is on the horizon.
