Conservative Party of Kalistan Proposes Bill to support Religious Freedom in Schools

In a press conference this morning the leader of the Conservative Party of Kalistan, James Peters came out and said

Today, we will be putting forward a bill to the assembly on supporting religious freedom in schools, currently religious schools are regulated strictly and teacher led prayers are banned. The polls have shown that this is creating a lot of Religious Tension in schools as people believe the Kalistan Government don't allow there beliefs."

The bill will be allow teacher led prayers in schools and non regulated religious schools to operate of any religion.

Mr Peters also stated

I believe this bill will pass in the assembly with a large majority as to vote against it would be racist as that is a show to not support people Religious beliefs. We hope now the assembly is finished playing petty politics on both sides over choosing a cabinet, we can get down to business and do the best for our nation.

Minister Conti speaks on the threat to Kalistan from across Terra

Foreign Affairs Minister Sophia Conti has attacked the Democratic Republic of Solentia after members of the 'National Libertarian Party' illegally entered the National Assembly of Kalistan on numerous occasions. Conti said that the 'disgusting attempt to undermine our parliament' highlighted 'the threat Kalistan faces from the Global Fascist Order'. In her statement to the Solentian government, she requested a full explanation of how the government would prevent this happening in future and demanded a full apology. Two men, named Karl Wolfe and Konrad Wolfe, were detained by authorities and will be sent back to Solentia within the week.

It is widely believed that the Theoconservative Party were at the heart of the attack on our national sovereignty, demonstrating once again that they wish to destroy our nation from the inside. The party recently limited membership to those from the Aurorian Patriarchal Church (<0.03% of the Kalistani population), even though most of their leaders had previously come out as members of the Society of Brethren. In addition to inviting foreign agents into the legislature, the Theocons have refused to sign the Kalistan-Istalia Treaty of Cooperation and Friendship- thereby weakening Kalistan's position in the world.

The Conservative Party of Kalistan started in July 4215 and was originally laughed at by the people for there expected fascist and radical views. Shortly after they started proposing bills to the assembly such as Union Reform, Public Donations Reform & Relgious Freedom Reform in schools the public started to embrace there Conservative Values.

After a Early Election was called they had picked up 33 seat in the Assembly.

Mr Peters stated in his election speech the following,

Ladies and Gentlemen this was a vote for the people by the people, you have spoken and you want more Conservative values in the assembly to represent your values. I will represent all the people of Kalistan no matter if they didn't vote for me or not because they deserve the best and we are the best.

I would like to congratulate our Conservative Colleague "The Kalistan Radical Front" on there recent gain in numbers of seats. Sadly our other colleague "The Liberation Party" took a huge hit in numbers, but don't you worry we will get them back up there!!!!

I have just gotten of the phone to the New President who has been becoming a good friend of the Conservatives with his support for the Public Donations & Relgious Freedom and we look forward to working with him.

Mr Peters is now hoping to get a couple of cabinet positions as he is now elected into the assembly.

Eccentric former Governor of Neveras elected Labour General Secretary following Conti's resignation

Jean-Baptiste Fabian speaks to the media for the first time as Labour Party General Secretary

At the Labour Party Congress this morning, Jean-Baptiste Fabian was officially inaugurated as the new General Secretary less than a month after the resignation of former President and Foreign Minister Sophia Conti. Conti took the decision to after nearly a decade in charge because, she said, 'Labour needs reinvigoration from the top and I have served my party for long enough'. Her close ally and Deputy Clementine Espinoza had taken over as interim leader but made clear that she too would stepping back from the front-line.

The election was organised swiftly and candidates were given until the end of the week to nominate themselves for the position. As a result, there were only three names on the ballot paper: Mr Fabian, Justice Spokesperson Franklin Foster and backbencher Ajit Sharma. All three candidates focused their campaigns primarily on establishing name recognition, due to the short time they were given to canvas supporters. The result was announced just three days before the quarterly meeting of the Party Congress got underway. Ultimately, the results provided a first round victory for Fabian, sweeping 54.8% of the membership votes with Foster and Sharma taking 39.6% and 5.6% respectively. Following the confirmation of the latest General Secretary, the Party Congress appointed the new leader's first Central Committee. In a show of unity, Foster was elected Deputy Leader, Sharma given the Science and Technology brief and the outgoing Conti was allowed to continue in her Foreign Affairs role.

Precious little is known about Fabian, except for his personal qualities- he garnered a reputation in Neveras as an outspoken critic of Kalistan's perceived 'interventionism'. Some argue he is to the party's far left, noting his comments that 'the tolerance of the free market primarily serves to facilitate the rise of fascism' while others say he is closer to the centre. Throughout his time as Governor of Neveras, Fabian developed a robust relationship with his Social Democratic counterpart and this could be one of the reasons he was able to secure election. Regardless, he will face a difficult task if he is to re-establish the Labour Party as the dominant force in Kalistani politics.

James Peters, Leader of The Conservative Party of Kalistan in a meeting about his recent win of legislation.

Late Last year Mr Peters' Religious Freedom act passed in the National Assembly after making amendements to the act during correspondence with fellow parties but he ask people not to worry as the main message of religious schools is still available.
The bill passed 395-355, Mr peters' commented on the result during his meeting this morning.

Although I am Mostly happy that the act past as it was quite disgusting that opposition parties such as the Labour Party and the Social Democrats didn't vote. I took there concern of the teacher lead prayers but they still went with the racist ways and voted against the bill. Even sadder the Labour Party has proposed a bill to continue to restrict religious beliefs which is a disgrace to the Labour Party as they are supposed to be representing equality.

We hope now we can receive there support for the education reform bill as it is giving the youth of Kalistan the best possible education.

After the meeting this morning a reporter from our station went to Luxon, the labour parties highest voted for city to ask around to see what the people's reaction was, the following statements are from the citizens:

- "During the election I voted for the Labour Party as my president and my representative to have more equality and respect in my community after the neoconservatives were elected. But I have this rejection given to me from the party as if they don't support me until it's time for an election."

- "I have always voted for the Labour Party ever since i could, but I physically feel sick to see this is what my vote is doing."

There is still 12 months until the election, will this affect there result.

Hackers Target Saridan
Kalistani group Incognito launch cyber attack to protest strict censorship laws

A clandestine Kalistani group calling themselves 'Incognito' have launched a serious cyber attack against the Saridanese government's strict internet regulation filters. Early this year, the governing Ameliorate Historical Union passed the Regulation of the Devil's Web Act, granting the state huge powers to filter, manipulate and censor online and other media content. According to Presiding Elder Rev. Hendrik Kruger, the aim was to 'allow only righteous material to be available to citizens of the finest of nations'. In spite of this, several international organisations, including the Kalistani-based Free Speech Coalition, have described the legislation as a breach of essential freedoms.

Yesterday, for around eight hours, Saridanese citizens were once again able to access the internet freely as the hackers shut down the firewall which usually prevents them from doing so. Although it has been a fierce critic of the regime, the Kalistani government was eager to distance themselves from the action. Newly appointed Premier Jean-Baptiste Fabian commented that 'Kalistan has a tradition of non-interference wherever possible, of course we had nothing to do with the actions of this group- whoever they might be. We utterly condemn the Council of Elders for their repressive and backwards legislation but that does not give us the right to overrule it, they are a sovereign state after all'.

Just seconds after the events unfolded, a brief video appeared on social media during which the group named Incognito claimed they had orchestrated the attack in response to the 'fascist and authoritarian' regime and that 'they would continue to support the cause of liberation from the Global Fascist Order across Terra'. As the words were read out, a repeating video played showing the aforementioned Hendrik Kruger being hung as crowds watch. While the video is presumably faked, the striking realism of its footage were cause for second thoughts for some viewers.

According to local news outlets, the government has regained a certain degree of control over the domestic population in Saridan. They cannot, however, control the actions of foreign agencies.

Decima Expansion Welcomed

Premier Fabian speaks to journalists about the Decima expansion project

News broke last week that the Hutori-based technology company Decima Technologies would be establishing a new server facility in the Kalistani city of Temmon, Suldanor. Decima is responsible for the hugely popular Titan web browser, BeBot "Bonfire" operating system and Milliard search engine- synonymous with the business. The aim of the project is to improve the speed and reliability of their services across the Seleyan continent. For the Kalistani government it represents a fantastic opportunity to provide the next generation of computer and technology enthusiasts with an unparalleled learning experience in addition to the numerous jobs the firm will create.

Yesterday, Premier of the Republic Jean-Baptiste Fabian shared his thoughts on the construction during an interview with The Republic;

Decima Technologies is a world-famous brand and for many people, Milliard has become a part of our everyday lives. The sheer innovation of a business like Decima is worthy of admiration in and of itself but when you consider the vast number of positions this move will create, it's a complete no-brainer on my part. Furthermore, I am delighted that our local higher education establishments have already begun to create links with Decima, allowing Kalistani students to combine a superb education with practical working experience. I cannot hide my fantastic enthusiasm for this project! On top of all of this, we will be helping to improve the services for consumers across Seleya.

The Reynoldia Technological Institute, a university known for its unorthodox yet well-respected degrees, and the University of Temmon have been the first to unveil new courses in partnership with Decima and others are expected to follow suit. Additionally, the new facility will require a host of new employees in a range of fields.

With less than 4 months till the election the Conservatives held there campaign Launch in Nerveras City were they picked up all there seats during the last election. The party this election is running on the slogan of "Strong Economy. Strong Eduction. Strong Enternity." This Idea was greatly taken from the party members and will hopefully be embraced by the public.

In this term in government the Conservatives have passed 2 pivotal bills and are hopeful to pass a lot more next term. They were also pivotal in the way some bills went in the house making them a very powerful partner. There main partners in the Assembly are the Radical Front & Liberation Party and some regards as well to Social Democrats.

Mr. Baird gave a very moving and inspiring speech and we were lucky to get some of it for you:

The people have spoken and they want us! Mr peters quoted during his election night speech. The election was always expecting a swing towards the opposition giving the government, The Kalistan Conservative Alliance a nice majority of 396 seats. After a shock choic to back the Kalistan Radical Front after endorsing the Libetarion Party allowed the Radical Front to win presidency giving the Government a full control.

With a large increase in seats to now be representing with 86 seats the leader of the party Mr Peters was able to give a great surprise in his victory speech when announcing:

My fellow Kalistanians, this isn't a victory for me but a victory for WE. I have just gotten off the phone to both the leaders of the Kalistan Radical Front and Kalistan Libetarion Party and congratulated them on there victory and we have decided that we will continue to form our government and we have been nominated for the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Finance & Defence. I will take these roles with great pleasure and represent you and only you. THE PEOPLE.

The party has now just recently proposed there first bill for this term the Kalistan Health reform which will hopefully be able to reform the health system.

Mass Protest Begins
Trade Unions and Militias begin taking to the streets over fascist legislation

Thousands across the Republic show their disgust at the new regime

Following the election of the fascist Randell Ross, as well as his allies disgusting attempt to undo centuries of economic development, thousands of people have taken to the streets across Kalistan to protest. Guarded by the Kalistan Workers Liberation Army, a total of six Labour-affiliated trade unions have ordered their members to take to take industrial action. The CPK-sponsored act to annihilate health care in Kalistan was cause for the Kalistani Medical Association to join, while the KRF's Justice Reform Act drew criticism from a number of human rights groups.

In the meantime, former Premier of the Republic Jean-Baptiste Fabian has tabled an early elections motion in a desperate attempt to save the nation from fascism. He even offered to support a Libertarian Party candidate for President if it meant the motion passed. Clearly, this level of desperation shows the threat Kalistan faces if it is left at the mercy of the far-right. Mr Fabian gave a brief statement, joining calls for the population to rise against the government;

Once again, we have been conned by fascists into electing a pathetic and disgusting man as our President! We have tried to repel this attack, by the Global Fascist Order, on our democracy through political means but it is clear that this method is not working. Therefore, I have no choice but to call on Union workers and the general population to take to the streets and strike!
