Vereinigt Dorvik Calls Leaders into Emergency Meeting

VD Party President Ilya Titov has called his leaders into an emergency meeting after the election result, which delivered newly re-registered Revolutionären Volkspartei an enormous victory verging on majority.

"All bets are off," commented a party spokesperson. "Titov came second in the race for President at 43.94% which is disappointing, but more importantly the RVP gained 46.70% of the vote. I mean the DCP were probably our main opposition in the Volkskammer after the KPD dissolved but their policies were no where near as dangerous as that of the Revolutionären Volkspartei."

Titov was heard commenting to one of his peers [that] "the Revolutionären Volkspartei are evil, just evil..."

A source which asked not to be revealed told the Dorvik News Service that all things were being considered, from a coalition to restructuring the party somewhat. They stressed however that Titov's leadership was in no way under siege after mounting speculation that Zaitsev might consider a challenge if VD could not form government after a third election.

"We Fight for the People, They Do Not"

In one of the largest rallies in Dorvish history, 500,000 Dorvish men, women and children gazed as the Revolutionären Volkspartei newly established paramilitary showed its force. The leaders, and President of the Volksrepublik Dorvik spoke as well on the rally encouraging the Dorvish to vote, as well as to support the Revolutionären Volkspartei mentioning the now established slogan of the party and its paramilitary "We Fight For the People, They Do Not". However, as many Dorvish support the actions and reforms of the Revolutionären Volkspartei others get nothing less but a headache from such actions. The minority parties in the Volkskammer meet as announced attempting to step up against the Revolutionären Volkspartei calling it "Evil" or "Crazy". The leaders of the RVP laughed off the insults and continued with their daily whereabouts but some do not shed the fact that they are afraid of a coalition incorporating all the minority parties in the Volkskammer.

Image

I am afraid of the fact that they have an advantage of 21 seats in the Volkskammer giving them the majority. I only hope that their political ideologies cause them to split as such a coalition would damage the reputation of not only Dorvik on the international scene but also disappoint many voting Dorvish peoples which depend on our parties existence to communicate their message loudly and clearly into the Volkskammer. It is unfortunate that the minority parties do not understand such complicated situations as their ignorant minds only follow what their leader says, as Tivtov who is nothing more than a corrupt politician which was removed from the political scene and his hopes for being President washed away by our glorious leader, Robert Seiler. Time will only tell how the political situation in Dorvik will evolve - hopefully it will benefit the Revolutionären Volkspartei as we truly represent the people and we truly can do something. Just recently we did much like suppose the nationalized Health Care which now everyone has a ability to be in and get the service they need, or passing civil liberty reforms which will stop homosexuals from adopting children which was as insulting as laws get. Truly, we fight for the people, they do not! (Edward Klaus, Deputy Leader of the Revolutionären Volkspartei)

Image

In the light of the situation many Dorvish people have appeared to tighten their support for the Revolutionären Volkspartei predicting they will take the simple majority by next elections. The leaders though, fear not which has been deemed unfortunate. The complicated political situation has only shown that the wide disagreement between political ideals and such causes stirs in government and nears the nation toward anarchism. For instance, now only the Volkspartei holds half of the cabinet. The other half, happens to be gone as they resigned after the Christian Party of Dorvik lost the elections. Still, the nation maintains no full working cabinet without a Kanzler to head the remaining members which are from the Volkspartei. As the political crisis internally in Dorvik spreads, the RVP has been quite observent of its opponents. As such, Edward Klaus has come to the following conclusion on behalf of his party;

We have not once offered a coalition in cooperating all parties of Dorvik including us. We were promptly refused as we were considered "opposition" in the insane minds of the minority political leadership. We proposed another giving the minority parties more than we would benefit - we were refused for being "too conservative minded people". As such, I believe that we in turn are not the evil, or bad - we are the good attempting to restore stability to the nation being confronted by the political leadership of other parties and them protesting in our goodwill actions. As such, I find that we are not the ones to blame for any political instability. Our recreation was a marvel of a choice by several old Revolutionären Volkspartei and many new politicians which have joined the ranks of the party - but this cannot be blamed for destabilizing Dorvik. If the minority parties showed as much cooperation with the RVP as they show between themselves we would never have such an event. Moreover, we would most likely have a brilliant co-existence in the nation and be able to work together representing all parts of the Dorvish people's minds and their political spectrum.

It is unknown how the results of the upcoming elections will affect either side, as predicted the RVP may loose seats to the minority parties or gain some – this fact is unknown as national polls linger from one side to the other in a wink of time. That in mind, many Dorvish consider this political quarrel not beneficial too the nation, though as the RVP mentions “Such political arguments may end up finally to be beneficial for the nation has they will solve many problems we have internally." We have yet to see this outcome.

Political Crisis in Dorvik

In the light of the Revolutionären Volkspartei rally and retaliation to the minority parties protest and gatherings in an attempt to lock the Revolutionären Volkspartei out of power, another year has passed as Dorvik does not maintain a fully-functioning cabinet. Since the elections in September 3133, for over 2 years now Dorvish politicians have been unable to agree on a government due to ideological disputes and political parties which choose to remain neutral in the political conflict. The failure of establishing a cabinet was brought upon the Revolutionären Volkspartei when the minority parties in their meeting accused the RVP for being 'evil' as well as being the cause of the problem.

We have been encountered not once with the ignorance of our opposition - nay, they are unworthy of even that. I do not wish to insult but there is only so much the human brain may resist. It is unfortunate that these parties and their leaders do not see our true generosity. They attempt to cover up the fact that we offered to form a coalition with all the parties in Dorvik, though were rudely refused like I mentioned several days later. Now, the political situation is escalating quicker than ever and we are currently debating in the our party whether we should intervene with our paramilitary to stabilize the country.

Mentioned Edward Klaus, now the leader of the Revolutionären Volkspartei.

Many political analysts have mentioned that if the Revolutionären Volkspartei decides to use its paramilitary force to stabilize the country it might trigger a negative affect on the country as a whole and show a demonstration of violence rather than cooperation and coexistence as gentlemen. One, Adolf von Freidman has mentioned;

We must not forget that the Revolutionären Volkspartei is known to be radical, but I doubt the public would accept the paramilitary force of the Revolutionären Volkspartei parading into Haldor, the capital, and using gun shots or hopefully if they do - threats to resolve a political situation. It is indeed true that they have offered cooperation but such a way is not the way to go and unless they want to severely damage the image of Dorvik as a stable country and theirs as a reasonable political party in the international as well as local area, they should greatly reconsider their actions and what they are considering to do.

Mr. Adolf von Freidman speaks.

As a result of the recent announcement, several small protests have been sparked which are composed of mainly Volkspartei or Veringit Dorvik supports which oppose the Revolutionären Volkspartei movement, announcement and overall political agenda greatly. Though, in turn instead of giving way for the demands of the 7,000 strong demonstrators in front of the Volkskammer the Revolutionären Volkspartei has only strengthen its position and threaten that it will use force if it finds that necessary to stabilize the country, it mentioned that it will "fight to the end for poltical stability in Dorvik."

Crisis in Dorvik

A constitutional crisis continues to loom in Dorvik as parties who make up the Volkskammer unable to form a consensus as to who forms government. With RVP maintaining the lion's share of the Volkskammer, minor parties such as Vereinigt Dorvik and Volkspartei has refused to support a unity government which would see all parties being included somewhat. VD spokespeople have confirmed time and time again that they will not support the RVP in government.

Meanwhile, threats of violence have risen as the Revolutionären Volkspartei announces a party-controlled paramilitary force. With some of their supporters calling for the RVP to take control, supporters of others protest.

Vereinigt Dorvik released the following statement;

"We formally call upon the Revolutionären Volkspartei to act in accordance with the constitution, that we make political decisions in Dorvik based on timely elections and democratic institutions."

Vereinigt Dorvik Calls for Early Elections

In the midst of chaos, minor parties have agreed that early elections are the best way of coming to a consensus on who should form government. Vereinigt Dorvik, who is proposing the bill, has also recently announced some changes to the candidates it is putting forward for the up and coming elections. Party President Ilya Titov will be the party's candidate for head of government and will be standing for a seat in the Volkskammer, where as the party's current Volkskammer leader Vladik Zaitsev will not be contesting his seat, rather standing for election as President.

This move comes a a key strategic shift from VD as it seeks to counter the RVP. Party officials are said to be 'hopeful' that a coalition can be formed between the current minor parties, for a government which stands for religious and personal freedoms despite a party history of animosity toward matters of faith.

Elections Point Toward a Coalition of the Willing?

3636 Elections have finally been held, and the results have been close to what has been expected. President Robert Seiler of the Revolutionären Volkspartei has been re-endorsed as the nation's head of state with a 55-45 percent majority against rival candidate Vladik Zaitsev of Vereinigt Dorvik. Ilya Titov has been elected and now leads his party from within the Volkskammer. He is currently a running favorite for Chancellor as Volkspartei proposes a governing coalition between the minor parties.

With some differences on religion between Vereinigt Dorvik and the Dorvik Christlich Partai, Titov has offered the DCP an olive branch and pledges to lead his organisation on a pathway to a peace on matters of the faith where civil freedoms and the freedom to express religion are mutual, in exchange for their participation in government.

If successful, government would be formed via a coalition between VD, VP, and the DCP.

Meanwhile Revolutionären Volkspartei has won a staggering 48% of seats in the Volkskammer, only 10 short of holding a majority in their own right. Titov, who was previously embroiled in a bitter rivalry of words between himself and members of the RVP, has again labeled them as the 'clearest danger of our time' and pledged to encourage parties to position themselves strategically throughout the term.

Titov Sworn in As Chancellor

Ilya Titov was sworn in this morning as the nation's Kanzler der Volksrepublik, as the Dorvik Christian Party voted for the proposed Coalition. Forming a full government in what will be the first time since the last elections, Titov leads a cabinet in which he hopes will restore political integrity as well as stability to Volksrepublik Dorvik. In a somewhat unlikely coalition, three parties are united on the issue of moderation in Dorvish politics against the RVP, who they accuse of being radical in nature. It is uncertain how long things will last for however after Titov offered the DCP an olive branch on matters of religion as he leads a party historically aggressive toward faith.

The Volkspartei and the Dorvik Christlich Partai both control four ministeries while United Dorvik controls five. Cabinet has been formed as follows:

Kanzler der Volksrepublik: [VD] Ilya Titov
Foreign Affairs: [VD] Misha Bogdanov
Internal Affairs: [VD] Yuri Nasenko
Finance: [VP] Jyrki Tamsen
Defence: [DCP] Holy Spirit
Justice: [DCP] Judge Deborah
Infrastructure and Transport: [VD] Yaroslav Kolesnikov
Health and Social Services: [VP] Tielo Lang
Education and Culture: [DCP] Ilkka Kantola
Science and Technology: [VP] Liesel Keller
Food and Agriculture: [DCP] Alexander Adams
Environment and Tourism: [VD] Pavel Chernyshev
Trade and Industry: [VP] Helene Strauss

Speaking outside of the Volskammer this morning, Ilya Titov has pledged that the nation's economy will be at the forefront of the government's interest, as it seeks to bring the budget back under control and in the black, and finding a 'balanced' approach to state industries and privatisation.

Bogdanov Condemns the President

Foriegn Affairs Minister Misha Bogdanov has today condemned the President for refusing to work with the Foriegn Office in revealed contact with Ikradon. After revelations were made that President Seiler had been contacted by the nation, Bogdanov says that he had hoped that the President would choose to consult him as the Minister of Foriegn Affairs.

"While I respect the powers of the President to conduct foriegn policy, it is one of many in a long string of insults," he raged to the Press. "The Foriegn Office has been established for a reason, his complete refusal to allow us to have some say works completely against the interests of Dorvik."

Meanwhile, a new storm is brewing as it is revealed that the President seeks to use his time with other governments to critisize the coalition government.

Titov responded angrily, "The President's responsibility is to Dorvik, not to the RVP. The Revolutionary People's Party may be bitter that we have won the elections in the Volkskammer but the longer this goes on the more Dorvik suffers. We will be seeking a consensus with regards to the President's powers in the Volkskammer."

The Foriegn Office has not issued an Official Statement to the government of Ikradon.

The "Dorvish - Dorvish War" Begins

As the growing problem of Foreign Diplomacy and in the light of strong debating in the Volkskammer to change the powers of the President, the Revolutionären Volkspartei made one of the largest attacks on the government yet. As the press conference began, Edward Klaus, the leader of the party put all matters aside and began speaking on how "dangerous" the situation in Dorvik may get.

I am aware of the dangers that may face Dorvik, but I am unsure if the people are aware of them. Such progressive coalitions which wish to install capitalism and rid our nation of basic morals and principles can do much harm to Dorvik, and it is unfortunate the people may do nothing about it. This coalition is dangerous and can lead to many political problems as this political disagreement continues. That in mind, I declare war on the Volkskammer members aside from my own parties - they have promised so much but have done so little besides angering the people. I shall politically fight for the rights of my party and above all the people and shall now allow people like these, Titovs or Bogdanovs, such savages to plague our nation!

Image
Klaus speaking to the media.

The political situation has been a struggle for over 4 years now, ever since the early elections called after the disestablishment of the Communist Party of Dorvik. Some commentators have speculated that this may escalate to something much worse and liberal citizens in Haldor have mentioned that they are afraid of the RVP paramilitary camping just outside the city. Although the RVP has declared that it shall not use its paramilitary, parties in the Volkskammer, and citizens against the RVP remain skeptical.

(OOC: Please remember, it is a political war not a civil war or anything of that short - just a political war with parties trying to eliminate each other and lock each other out of government, etc.)

Titov: People Will Get Say At Election

In a growing fued between Revolutionären Volkspartei and the Coalition, Ilya Titov has responded to critisizm that he seeks changes against the wishes of the people by declaring that he will be under the scrutiny of the people at the next election.

He has savaged the RVP in the meantime for playing a game of 'tic tac toe' in the Volkskammer, in what appears to be a backroom 'threat' against the Dorvik Christian Party to seek to reduce religious freedoms, despite their own party's positioning as a pro-religious party. Titov blasted the move as evidence that the RVP stood for nothing except for their own gain, and said that it would only serve to dilute the RVP's posturing for the next poll, and increase the DCP's.

If in the event that anti-religious laws passed in the Volkskammer, Titov has promised a full roll back with the help of the DCP making gains in the Volkskammer via a potential early election. He has sought to 'remind' the RVP that religious issues are the only dominant-vital issue in Dorvik that they differed themselves for, and that making themselves a secular party would only weaken their own base.
