Shipping executives seek out partners in northern hemisphere amidst ongoing disruptions in South Seleyan routes
October 5661
Sholemberg - Notable disruptions in shipping routes in South Seleya, following Egelion's now active military involvement in Rildanor, have had investors and executives alike concerned over potential regional spillovers in the Canrillaise sphere. For context, Vamaj routes leading to Gaduridos and the corridor in Lourenne and Seko via the Anantonese and specifically the Meridian Strait represent additional concerns due to proximity.
So far Yeudi troubles in the eastern regions have been mitigated by centuries old agreements and activity in place with Yingdala and Hanzen, which have taken up the additional load from various rerouting operations to and from Gaduridos.
What is evident, however, is the lack of hubs in the northern hemisphere - with Kundrati and Etxea mostly gone from the Yeudi radar as a shipping hub, most traffic now docks in Luthori, passing either through the Aldegarian Canal or straight to Lourenne. Especially with Valruzia's recent domestic (some calling them "hardcore isolationist") policies leading to a dip in activity - now mostly alive due to the large numbers of Yeudi Diaspora in the country.
Suffice to say, the Neset's exposure as far as Seleya is concerned, has been a thorn ever since the Hubris War.
-
In an attempt to counteract, shipping executives and investors have been undertaking efforts to meet with counterparts and government officials alike in Hutori, Lodamun and Kalistan, on the pillars of all three countries being "of the few stable ones in centuries".
"Lodamun boasts one of the strongest and most enduring shipping networks in the world", the COO of Hadayim stated yesterday; "with Harrington Company representing a hallmark in historical stability - just like Kaliburg and Ananto".
Hopeful that the old Beiteynuese-led animosities have been swept by the passage of time, Yeudi shipping looks to strike new deals.
-
It's been reported that Hadayim is also looking to dip its toes in Bekenial's oil game.

Tel Bira's motion to disband army branch passes; sweeping reforms commence to cutdown on military costs further
November 5661
Haifbourg (Medebir Nisrad) - With Yishelem and Haifbourg voting against, Tel Bira's motion passed yesterday afternoon and will see the army branch of the former Beiteynuese Defence Force be disbanded in the course of the next four years.
In filling the gap, the Mishtara (Police) will receive further support and additional legislative amendments across all Nisrads, along the lines of the 5578 militarisation policy amendments of one of the Aristocrat-Goldbloom Administrations.
The army's equipment will subsequently be either dismantled, sold to the highest bidder or transferred to the Mishtara's jurisdiction.
However, no mechanised divisions will remain, in any case.
Pursuant to its 5604 neutrality direction, Tel Bira is expected to introduce further military downsizing amendments, targetting the AllComm, the airforce and Amshinov's notorious Hosheh network of ballistic missiles, still active to this day. Presuming upon Himmelshtern's and Amshinov's past positions, both city states and the 3rd Point Federation itself will most likely kick back strong on the latter.
It's unclear where the freed up budget will be diverted to, at this point.

Hutorian Carter Energy and Hadayim shares soar as new petroleum and shipping deals mark shift
August 5662
Bekenial, Hutori - Last year's rumours of Hadayim looking to dip its toes once again in the northern hemisphere's petroleum game were confirmed on Tuesday afternoon after one of the shipping titan's headquarters in Fort William published a press release.
The news in question confirmed that Hadayim, the Narik-Darnussian-Yeudi owned Birco and a couple more shipping companies from Sholemberg had struck several harbour rights in Hutori's southern and eastern ports, paving the way to solidifying a "missing link" both between Luthori and Lourenne's corridor to the East, as well as opening up the Neset's access to markets for Hutorian products.
Part of the deal includes the purchase and transport of Hutori's crude oil, for the purposes of both direct reselling within the Vamaj Network (similarly to Badara, Aldegar and Gaduridos, outside Vascania itself) and refinement in Sholemberg's and Himmelshtern's vast infrastructure.
It is expected that the Secretary of Sholemberg herself, Alexa Aristocrat-Goldbloom, will visit Bekenial in the coming weeks.
-
Markets reacted rather cautiously, citing Istalia's ongoing situation, despite the recent ceasefire in Rildanor with Egelion.

(Op-ed) Unprecedented police militarisation: where is this heading?
August 5662
Yishelem - But first, where did it start?
As most of these things usually do; decades and decades ago: when Anna Kadiyot, one of the last Prime Ministers of the 8th and final Yeudi Homeland, was shot at Bei Elion International Airport in ' 73.
The army then pushed forward with the very first militarisation policies, a few years later.
Merely two years after that, the Jelbic Sus opened in Rishon Le Hofesh - now, the capital of the Jelbic-influenced Hofesh Nisrad.
Throughout the next several years and decades, the police kept receiving the latest in military equipment; and more and more budget. Especially after Tel Bira initiated budget cutting for the military - and the rest of the Nisrads followed up in a couple of years.
With the army now disbanding and a non-military force looking like the army, but present in every corner, we ask:
Where is this heading?
-
Because the people of Yishelem remember. And remember well.

Himmelshtern introduces surprise motion to disband City State of Yishelem and redraw Amudim's map
August 5662 - Other Headlines: Hutori
Himmelshtern, Narikaton & Darnussia - Co-authored with Tel Bira and Haifbourg, the proposed redrawing of the map of the Holy Land includes an expansion of N&D's borders via Himmelshtern's government, Tel Bira's official declaration of independence and neutrality and the merging of the heavily Jelbic-influenced Hofesh, Medebir and Amshinov Nisrads into a single federal government housed in scorching hot Haifbourg.
The most surprising change, however, comes with the disbandment of Yishelem as one of the city states of Amudim, essentially converting it into residential, commercial and industrial zones shared between the three Nisrads, with all historical sights to fall under the jurisdiction of the Arboutit (the organisation responsible for former Beiteynu's cultural and educational affairs) currently housed in Haifbourg.
Should the motion pass, government agencies such as the Agaf (former Medinat Department) and the Agafim (former TRA) will be disbanded and all relevant affairs will be completely handled by respective Nisrads.
As Tel Bira seeks to wear the gauntlet of the Neset's banking, Sholemberg and Haifbourg walk the path of trade and industry.
-
A fiery debate in chambers, following the motion's introduction, is rather indicative of the continuous confusion after Beiteynu's disbandment in '08.

Kalopian-Yeudi AIG signs ₪15M donation to support Yeudi Diaspora in North Seleya
November 5662 - Other Headlines: Hutori
Tel Bira - Last month's news out of Valruzia on the formation of a minority interests' party seeking to represent the more than 18 million of the Yeudi Diaspora residing in the country (for context, that's almost half of Amudim itself) quickly garnered the support of notable business figures from the Neset, such as Hadayim and Aristocrat Insurance Group - both entities founded and led by families of the diaspora.
Jacek Pawlak's campaigning face and presence in the media was of such appeal that has led to AIG itself offering ₪15M to the party, a donation which, according to AIG's CEO, is purposed to "help the diaspora in North Seleya in its efforts to connect with more Yeudis".
When asked about the public positions expressed by Kalistani-Yeudis last year - including David Romero's remarks pertaining to his meeting with Pawlak in Valruzia last week - AIG's spokesperson took the mantle after the CEO's brief statements:
Quote:We have no issues with the Yeudi Diaspora of Kalistan and Ananto; it is important to remember that for much of the last few centuries of the 8th Yeudi Homeland's peak, Kalistani-Yeudis were pretty much isolated to recall that many of us, of the Yeudi Diaspora just like them, opposed the Beiteynuese Government; our blood is half of Canrille. And Lourenne was the first one to help put the breaks on Yishelem's devastating policies.
If we didn't know any better, we'd think that these notable figures consider Kalistani-Yeudis to be superior to the rest of us...?
In any case, the rest of us, support any and all actions of the Yeudi People - especially when it's about connecting them to each other; and connecting them to opportunities and growth. Which is what the Neset is all about.
Thank you; no further comments.

Navy chiefs in hot water over re-opened Vascanian base; Tel Bira demands withdrawal - 3PF holds "position of necessity"
July 5663
Himmelshtern, Narikaton and Darnussia - Fort William's condemnation of the Vascanian coup back in 5660 played a key role in setting the stage for controversy over the 3rd Point Federation's recent decision to help re-open the joint Jelbic-Vascanian-Yeudi naval base in the Vascanian Sea.
Although mostly led and managed by Kamalata itself this time around - Himmelshtern has only tasked 2 missile boats and personnel specialised in reconnaissance - the base was once a hotspot in the conflict between Xsampa and former Beiteynu; making Metz-Leonid's reaction earlier this year of "grave concern" a point of heated debate and a "no-no" from Tel Bira, which cited the Non Aggression Pact still in effect with the Dovanian nation.
3PF leadership has been notably affirmative in its position over the last few days, highlighting how Vascania's domestic affairs are "Vascania's affairs" and do not, and "should not" concern other countries, especially given that no aggression has been shown by Kamalata.
"Rildanor and Egelion reminded us of the vitality of the Dovanian Route in the prosperity of the Yeudi People", was the statement of Deputy Secretary of Himmelshtern; "this is not about Xsampa or any aggression whatsoever against any nation. This is about security guarantees".
Curiously, the mic picked him up whispering "tov yoter lehoulam" after ending the press conference.

Kohav confirms incident in MP; navy ordered to stand-down as Himmelshtern scrambles to mend relations with... everyone
February 5665
Himmelshtern, Narikaton and Darnussia - Military command in Himmelshtern confirmed earlier this morning the details of the recent incident in the Migrant's Pass involving the Lodamese Navy and the destruction of a Jelbic-made anti-submarine frigate in service with the Fleets of Amudim.
Critical of both Lodamun's actions and the admiral's decision to allow a frigate of the Yeudi Fleet to perform dangerous manoeuvres "close to a damaged submarine of another country", a spokesperson from the 3rd Point Federation issued a stark warning to "all players in this fiasco", highlighting the importance of open communication, cooperation and the 3PF's vital role in governing a heated region.
"Melikvan and the Octagon [military command in Pontesi] are on the same page with us", he commented; "this is a condemnation of Lodamun's trigger happy behaviour and Himmelshtern's trigger inviting demeanour".
Lodamun remains a ratifier of the Migrant Accords [3PF].
Domestic
Following the incident, it is expected that Tel Bira's motion to disband the airforce - along the lines of the 5661 disbandment of the army branch - may be filibustered by both Himmelshtern and Sholemberg as it is rumoured that both will pursue directing funds to the navy as a concession to limiting Amudim's armed forces to just a single branch (with both AllComm and Hosheh remaining).
Xsampa
Part of the reconciliation efforts included a red-eye diplomatic flight to Metz-Leonid, in order to address the continuous signals of concern issued from Xsampa in regards to the 5663 reopening of the joint Vascanian-Jelbic base. The item received a top priority status on the docket following Egelion's confirmation of multiple joint military efforts with the Dovanian country last year, which, coupled with its prior joint operations with Bianjie has evidently led to a sharp increase in security and military related affairs concerning the Sovereign Sea and the Red Bass Ocean.
Led by the Deputy Secretary of Himmelshtern herself, the visit revolved around offering extensive assurances to Metz-Leonid that Narikaton and Darnussia and - by extension - the City States of Amudim, would honour the Non Aggression Pact signed in 5638 as part of Yishelem's surrender.
"The Fleets of Amudim are under the command of the 3rd Point Federation - there is nothing to worry about", was the official statement.
Egelion
A last round by Tel Bira itself is set to include a visit to Altea, to similarly assuage the rising Kerisian player in global affairs that neither Amudim nor Narikaton and Darnussia are looking to antagonise Egelion and its partners and allies.
"We seek to work together", a spokesperson commented when asked about the naval base in the Vascanian Sea. She then reminded journalists that Himmelshtern had only dedicated 2 missile boats and all efforts were led by Kamalata.
"After all, Amudim's naval projections are limited regionally", she added, citing the disbandment of the Shahar Fleets merely 20 years ago.
