The Republic is dissolved; The EGU passes.
The Republic of Gaduridos is no more. The Establishment of a Greater Union Act has passed, and the nation has formally accepted the Kalistani monarch as the Head of State. Despite opposition from the National Party and Worker's Party, the EGU Act has passed in the National Congress (reorganized into the Royal Congress), and maintains high public support. This has ended nearly 2 centuries of republicanism, but perhaps that is for the best as the benefits Gaduridos can look forward to are immense, especially economically.
The position of president has been dissolved, and Navarro has instead pushed for snap elections to facilitate the election of a Prime Minister. The current interim government has focused on ensuring stability in this transition, and Navarro has instead refused to run for Prime Minister. In the meantime, Gaduridos is now formally apart of the Anantonese Empire, as an equal.
As many Gaduri find themselves eager to see the economic benefits first and foremost, this new era for the Kingdom of Gaduridos is set to be off to a great start. Despite skepticism and anti-monarchist sentiment in the late 50s and early 60s, it seems many Gaduri would prefer economic growth and development. However, those concerns are largely alleviated as well as Gaduri democracy is maintained, and the nation maintains the status quo in terms of government. Whatever the case, the future is looking bright for the Kingdom as economic growth is likely to receive support from Kalistan, efforts are beginning to modernize the nations infrastructure, democratic institutions are enshrined, and neutrality preserved. The Gaduri Malaise has come to an end, and the Gaduri Spring has begun. Despite a troublesome world, Gaduridos is safe, her people prosperous and the future looks bright. As elections for PM loom over, set to occur next year, a new government will be available for this new Gaduridos.

Federal Highway Project finished; The Mainland to reap the benefits immensely.
The Federal Highway Project has been accomplished. Ranging from Cuernatecas to Manzamal, the FHP will allow millions of Gaduri on the mainland to have access to a reliable efficient route to and from major cities. This will make travel more streamlined for commercial and civilian usage on the mainland. Whether it be cutting down travel times, higher quality roads or ensuring smooth traffic, the FHP will bring the mainland, especially the Duchies of Manzamal and Cuernatecas much needed prosperity and benefits.
Despite some delays due to administrative strain from the transition to the Anantonese Empire, the project was able to bring about new jobs and encourage growth and development of communities close to the Federal Highway. The benefits however, are expected to come from commerce and trade. As cities will find it easier to export goods to the ports, this will ultimately help encourage development and bring in money for cities and local municipalities. Industry especially will benefit from the Federal Highway, as the rising Steel Industry will be able to have an easier time exporting it's goods via usage of the Federal Highway.
The two Duchies will benefit from the Federal Highway, and despite the cost of maintenance, the benefits will outweigh said cost and ensure that both Duchies have a reliable source of development and growth. As elections loom, and the interim government wraps up the transition period, the Radicals will surely get the benefits from enacting the Federal Highway Project.

PSSG returns to Los Altos; A Social Democratic start to the Kingdom.
The Interim Elections have concluded, and as the transition period comes to an end, it seems Gaduri voters have chosen to turn to the PSSG for stability through this new era. The PSSG has won the elections, forming a rather terse coalition with the HDP and TPG. While the Workers Party has had strong disagreements regarding the recent boom in monarchism, it seems many left wing voters flocked to the PSSG, with the Workers Party only gaining 12 seats in the Royal Congress. As such, many expected the PSSG to eclipse the Workers Party but evidently they haven't entirely. Irregardless, as this new Red-Blue Coalition forms, focused on development, fighting poverty and stability, various sides have had to make concessions. The biggest was avoiding the topic of the newly established Kingdom, as the Workers Party remains in staunch opposition to it, but given their results, they aren't in any position to negotiate much.
Irregardless, the Red-Blue Coalition has 143 seats, out of the needed 129 for majority. Not a good margin, but good enough. As such, who is to be the new and first PM? None other than Victoria Montenegro. Being a centrist within the PSSG, she quickly managed to secure the party nomination due to the lackluster performance of the Garcian Socialists in the wake of Yepes being ousted, and the elections afterwards. Campaigning on a relatively moderate platform, Montenegro has looked to not rock the boat much. Tax reform, which will include taxing the rich more, regulations in new emerging economic sectors, beginning efforts to fight wealth inequality and begin efforts at educational reform.
These are relatively lackluster centre promises, but with a new era emerging, many Gaduri want stable boring politics. The Montenegro Administration will largely be 4 years of stability and boringness, but that will lead Gaduridos comfortably through this new era. Perhaps Montenegro will break the cycle of 2 terms and be the first PM to reach that final 3rd term where Navarro and Yepes failed. Whatever the case, the next 4 years will surely be centrist. But maybe that's what Gaduridos needs to complete the transition.

Reforming Education; Creating a Royal Education.
As Gaduridos adjusts to being apart of the Anantonese Empire, new doors have opened, and new opportunities are around the corner. However, some of these opportunities require reform. Education is something that can provide endless opportunities. However, the Gaduri Education System has been questionable for recent time in terms of quality. It seems the Montenegro Administration is looking to create a modern, royal education. So how exactly can a modern education system be made? Create an education system that prepared Gaduri Students for the future.
The first step, is more of a pragmatic requirement within the Anantonese Empire: Learning Vrassan. Not only will this help future citizens should the ever join the government, but it will help in having a bilingual population, especially for those looking to visit Kalistan. The second step, is preparing Gaduri Students for the future. It isn't the old days anymore. Gaduri citizens aren't working in coal factories from sun rise to sun set. As such, the Gaduri Education System will move away from enforcing rigidness, and clamping down on individuality. And in a world of increasing tech, STEM will be vital. As such, schools will record more support, both in terms of funding and wage increases. This will ensure STEM classes can be provided, modern equipment is available, and staff are adequately paid. Yet, surprisingly, one major reform has been on the curriculum. While the Duchies have the right to specify what extracurricular classes are available to best suite the needs of their own Duchies, they are still beholden to the Federal Government, and civics classes have been mandated for all high school students. Why? To ensure that a National Front never again occurs. While some may argue this is partisan interference in education, the focus has been strictly on democratic values. Teach students how the government works, how democracy works, the history of Gaduri democracy, how to vote, etc. The ultimate goal is to ensure that no matter what, every Gaduri citizen is aware of democracy, it's importance, and how it can survive any crisis in the future.
Whether it be shifting up the curriculum to make Gaduri more prepared for the future, or increasing funding to ensure modern equipment and available transportation, these education reforms will surely benefit all of Gaduridos. Despite some controversy on the wording over the mandatory civics classes, most are in agreement that these are necessary reforms. While it certainly isn't the only reform to education that's likely to come, it is certainly the first of many.

Share The Wealth; Taxes raised on the wealthy.
The long awaited Tax Reform that Montenegro promised on the campaign trail have finally come about. The goal is to ultimately redistribute wealth, ensure a fair share is payed, and alleviate burdens on the downtrodden. As such, the Montenegro Administration has focused on enacting Progressive Taxation. As such, what exactly does this entail? More wealthy Gaduri will pay more. Less wealthy Gaduri will pay less. This will help ensure that every Gaduri is paying their fair share, and not being taxed unequally. This will help create funds for the state to redistribute towards the common good of the nation and the people.
Those on the lower income scale will be taxed less, both due to the fact that there is hardly anything to tax, and to ensure that lower income Gaduri aren't struggling. As income increases, tax is gradually increased, with the top wealthiest Gaduri being taxed the most. This should ideally ensure that every Gaduri is paying their fair share to society, and paying what they can for the betterment of Gaduridos. The goal is, besides to alleviate the burden on the working class, is to ensure that the state has the means to sustain itself financially, and have the means to reinvest wealth from the population back into the nation. Taxing the wealthy will allow the state to funnel that wealth back into the general population and ensure that every Gaduri can receive the benefits of society.
Overall, these tax reforms haven't been too controversial, and Montenegro is certainly sticking to the "boring centrist" cliche, and is focused on not rocking the boat. As boring as tax reform may be, it is vital for the well-being of Gaduridos. Adopting progressive taxation will certainly be sustainable for the nation. How the newly acquired money will be redistributed to the benefit of the nation is yet to be seen, but it's certain that it'll go towards public efforts.

A Humane Choice; Prison reform.
Incarceration has long often been a sore spot for Gaduridos. While rates aren't certainly high, those who are incarcerated often end up worse off than they were before. Now that's not to say that criminals shouldn't be punished. But what line is there before it crossed from punishment to inhumane? It seems the Montenegro Administration has asked itself that question too, and looked to change things up. Particularly focusing on modernizing prison infrastructure to make sure current facilities aren't overcrowded, are in quality shape and are kept to high standards. Alongside this, a new policy of rehabilitation will be enacted. Creating productive citizens out of those who slipped through the cracks, this will see efforts at reforming those incarcerated into productive citizens and ensure that future incarceration is prevented.
However, this effort has found itself not without tri-partisan support as Reform has vocally been against it, finding support from the fringe National Party and even a few Radicals and Hosian Democrats have opposed it. Arguing that this won't change anything and will just encourage crimes for easy support, Reform has almost unanimously been opposed to it, preferring to keep prison as punitive. The National Party on the other hand, has only put itself into controversy. Due to being on thin ice due to being the unofficial successor to the National Front, the National Party's "Free Soil" wing has drenched in controversy over supporting strong punitive efforts and even private prisons. While the National Party is relegated to the fringe, it still casts a shadow over anything right of Reform.
Irregardless, while these efforts may be expensive, the goal is to ensure a sustainable solution, in which citizens that may have fallen through the cracks aren't punished, but given help in bettering themselves. If successful, incarcerated Gaduri will find themselves with the tools and support to reintegrate into society and thrive. Those who find themselves in dire need of aid, especially along the lines of mental illness being used to excuse a crime will also be given the appropriate care they need.

4 Hour Work Week enacted; Shorter days, better wellbeing.
It would seem the current Red-Red-Blue Coalition has managed to enact a new milestone for Gaduridos and workers all across the country. The "Workplace Health Act", sponsored by Sofía Vera of the Worker's Party was created with the goal of creating a more healthy, both emotionally and mentally, working class. Mandating that the nation move past 5 day workweeks and move towards 4 day workweeks, the bill was expected to fail. Contrary to all expectations, it passed. After receiving support from Radicals to ensure a comfortable pass, the WHA was signed into law, and Gaduridos is now one of the few nations in Terra to have a 4 day workweek.
So what exactly are the benefits? Well, for one, everyone will enjoy better lasting days off. Instead of just simple weekends off, they get an extra day. Not only is this mentally helpful for many Gaduri in the workforce, but it allows a healthy work life balance to be ensured, and allow Gaduri to actually live life instead of being what amounts to a zombie endlessly working. Alongside this, ideally workers will be more motivated to work and be more productive. The main focus however, is on preventing a mental health crisis from occuring, and ensuring a healthy work life balance for all Gaduri. Showing workers that they are cared for, and valued in society is not only a morally good thing to do, but it helps boost productivity via raising morale.
Overall, the four day workweek has been met with strong public approval, and while there are a few voices of opposition, many are expecting the WHA to remain in effect for a considerable while with little risk of being repealed. However, opposition has largely come from Reform and National as expected. Irregardless of their opposition to the WHA, this should be a major step in preventing a mental health crisis from occuring all together. And if that can be prevented, a healthier Gaduridos is ultimately more better for the nation, and human development.

Dairy industry to receive support; Another new industry for Gaduridos.
The Gaduri Agricultural Industry has long often been insignificant. While it has had some periods of relevance, more often than not, it has been neglected for more lucrative industries such as oil, iron or even the recent steel industry. However, it seems the Montenegro Administration is looking to change that trend and provide support for farmers. In particular, the dairy industry. Whether it be for cheese, milk or other dairy products, it seems that the Montenegro Administration is sure on supporting domestic production.
As such, state investments and subsidies will begin on dairy farms, both private and state owned to ensure adequate development. This will help in keeping private farms afloat, and modernizing both private and state farms to ensure moderate to good conditions for both workers and the animals in question. Farmers can expect stronger government support for their farms and have a breath of relief from any financial burdens. However, the benefits will also extend to expanding jobs, and allowing domestic production of dairy productions at home, which is always a boon. However, it also allows for the distribution of Gaduri dairy productions to other Seleyan nations should the need arise, and provide more money for the nation.
However, the focus is on providing support for farmers, and domestically producing dairy. Whether it be for milk production, cheese or what else, these efforts will be yet another addition to establishing strong Gaduri industries which may be able to compete alongside foreign peers in the SEC. As the SEC starts to revive itself, support for Gaduri industries may be vital to helping the SEC get off life support, and help ensure a healthy thriving economy with free fair trade. However for now, farmers can focus on working as they receive support for their labour.

Montenegro Administration looks to establish a viceroy; Magdalena Sarmiento nominated and haves sent to Kaliburg.
So far, the transition into the Anantonese Empire has largely been without issue. Major benefits have come from getting closer to Kalistan, and many Gaduri are supportive of new developments within the Empire. As it has been a handful of years since joining the Empire, the question of properly establishing the office of Prime Minister has been raised constantly and it seems the Montenegro Administration is set to do so, by choosing to nominate Magdalena Sarmiento. By nominating Sarmiento, the office of Govenor-General is likely to be replaced with Prime Minister as Sarmiento will become the representative to Her Imperial Majesty.
So who exactly is Magdalena Sarmiento? Well, Sarmiento has long been a supporter of Kalistan and the Anantonese Empire, being a strong business partner with Mark Ananto. As such, Sarmiento has risen to prominence once again when Gaduridos formally joined the Empire and owing to her connections to Mark Ananto, the Montenegro Administration felt it right to offer her the nomination of Viceroy. As such, should she be approved by Her Imperial Majesty in Kaliburg, Sarmiento will become Viceroy of Gaduridos.
As such, this will formally allow the creation of the office of Prime Minister. With elections later this year in October, not much is expected to fundamentally change but overall it is a move that is surely to be appreciated. However, the recent situation near the border has been ammo for the National Party as Reform is expected to make major gains in the election. While it is still likely for the Red-Red-Blue Coalition to continue on, and Montenegro enjoys solid approval ratings, it is also equally likely she is voted out due to party fatigue. But perhaps the move to establish a Prime Minister position will allow her to siphon off moderates from Reform. Irregardless of whatever happens in the elections, many are optimistic that Her Imperial Majesty will approve Sarmiento as Viceroy.
