AegisFlow: the new frontier of security in financial and stock market transactions
IL SOLE FINANZIARIO|ECONOMY AND INDUSTRY
October 5670 - International edition (OOC: backdated)
.
The startup, with the support of VerTech and in collaboration with the Imperial Central Bank of Istalia, aims to revolutionize financial fraud prevention
CALEON - The national economic scene today welcomes a new strategic player in the fight against fraud and crime related to monetary transactions: AegisFlow, a company specializing in anti-fraud security for financial intermediaries, which is extending its services to banking and stock market transactions. At the heart of the project is a partnership with VerTech, a leading developer of information systems based on Artificial Intelligence, which will provide the digital platform destined to become the operational cornerstone of the startup.
AegisFlow aims to offer banks, financial institutions, payment platforms, and stock market operators an integrated fraud monitoring and prevention service. Thanks to predictive analysis of transaction behavior, VerTech's AI system can identify suspicious anomalies in real time, activating automatic blocking procedures and providing detailed reports for targeted interventions.
The software dynamically adapts to new fraud schemes, tracking patterns of organized crime and money laundering. For the stock market, the platform also offers suspicious behavior analysis on complex transactions, helping to ensure transparency and reliability in capital flows.
AegisFlow offers various service levels, from packages for small and medium-sized businesses to enterprise solutions for banks and brokers. Services include transaction monitoring, specialized consulting, periodic audits, and cyber attack simulations to test system resilience.
Among the most significant initiatives is the launch of an agreement with the Imperial Central Bank of Istalia, aimed at integrating the startup's control systems with official national financial surveillance protocols, creating a direct channel for reporting suspicious transactions and strengthening public-private collaboration in fraud prevention.
The domestic market for digital financial security and banking compliance exceeds 3 billion lire annually, with an estimated annual growth of 12%. AegisFlow aims to gain a significant share by offering annual subscriptions and licenses for its AI platform. Advanced protection of banking and stock market transactions can significantly reduce fraud losses and increase investor confidence, with positive effects on the entire economic ecosystem.
The startup's announcement has generated interest among banks and brokerage firms, who see VerTech's AI technology as a tool capable of anticipating increasingly sophisticated fraud attempts. Some banks have already expressed their willingness to test the system in pilot projects, while trade associations are highlighting the importance of initiatives that combine technological innovation and security.
According to Marco Rivelli, CEO of AegisFlow:
Quote:The goal is not only to prevent fraud, but to create a safer financial and stock market environment, where businesses, investors, and citizens can operate with confidence. The agreement with the Imperial Central Bank of Istalia strengthens our credibility and our ability to intervene in real time against emerging threats.
With the support of VerTech, the interest of the banks, and the direct involvement of the Central Bank, AegisFlow aims to become a national, and potentially international, point of reference in the security of digital financial transactions, setting a new standard of protection, transparency, and reliability in the sector.

LA LENTE|FederIndustria is divided over coparticipation reform: "Social dialogue or disguised collectivization?"
The business community is receiving mixed reactions to the Moccia II government's plan
IL SOLE FINANZIARIO
December 5670 - International Edition (OOC:backdated)
The reform of progressive workers coparticipation in company decisions and profits, presented by the Moccia II government, is polarizing the Istalian business community. While the principle of greater employee involvement is recognized by some employers as a potential tool for stability and productivity, there is no shortage of critical reactions, even accusations of " disguised collectivization".
Within FederIndustria, some representatives of large industrial groups have taken a cautious but not hostile stance.
" The mechanism of differentiated progressivity based on company size is a step forward compared to rigid models", declared the federation's president, " but long transition periods, tax incentives, and a clear regulatory framework will be needed, otherwise we risk turning a good intention into a brake on investment".
According to this current, the initiative could strengthen employees' sense of belonging and improve the social climate, provided it avoids overly invasive impositions on the boards of listed companies.
Small and medium-sized businesses are far more critical, fearing immediate consequences. Many entrepreneurs speak of an " ideological" intervention that risks rigidifying decision-making processes.
" A medium-sized company competing in exports cannot afford co-decision-making on every industrial level. The market moves too quickly", explained a textile entrepreneur from Castiell 'e Sciorenza, " there's a risk of operational paralysis here, with devastating effects on international competitiveness".
Others point to increased bureaucracy and the possibility that advisory committees could become " new centers of conflict rather than instruments of cooperation".
The most vocal reaction, however, comes from the liberal wing of the business world, particularly from some multinationals and investor associations. A manager of a foreign holding company spoke bluntly of " disguised collectivization" and " a negative signal to international capital".
According to this view, the requirement to reserve shareholdings for workers in listed companies represents " a distortion of the capital market" that could lead to investor flight and production relocation.
" By doing so, the state is calling into question the very principle of private property", declared a well-known manufacturing entrepreneur, " and risks driving abroad not only capital, but also Istalia's entrepreneurial talent".
A recurring theme, moreover, is the role of unions. The idea of union representatives having access to strategic documents and board meetings is deemed " innovative but delicate". Some entrepreneurs fear the risk of permanent conflict, while others see an opportunity: " If unions adopt a logic of co-responsibility, the system could reduce conflict and sudden strikes" commented the director of a chemical-pharmaceutical group.
The business community thus appears divided: on the one hand, those who see the government's plan as an opportunity to consolidate corporate cohesion and reduce labor conflict, and on the other, those who denounce serious risks to the country's competitiveness and attractiveness.
FederIndustria now finds itself in the delicate position of having to reconcile its diverse internal perspectives in order to form a more solid front to dialogue with the state, while the government aims to present the reform as a compromise between social justice and economic competitiveness, but what is sure it that it already supports the request, expressed by many, for a long transition period, tax incentives for companies that adapt more quickly, and the possibility of adapting the regulations to different industrial sectors.
According to an internal FederIndustria analysis, the reform could have positive impacts on productivity and business stability in the medium term, but in the short term " implementation costs and regulatory uncertainty could weigh especially on medium-sized businesses and foreign investments".
On the parliamentary front, the opposition seized the opportunity to attack the government. Liberals of PNL and D&L described it as " a dangerous reform that undermines freedom of enterprise" warning that the country risks becoming " a laboratory for socialist experiments" with serious repercussions on investment attractiveness. The centrist UOD, however, expressed more moderate doubts, calling for " greater involvement of the Congress in defining the thresholds and implementation methods" with the aim of avoiding rigidities that could discourage SMEs.
Faced with criticism and concerns, the second Moccia government will now have to demonstrate a balancing act. The challenge will be to implement the reform gradually and flexibly, ensuring adequate adjustment times for businesses and providing tax incentives for those who comply quickly. It will also be crucial to accompany the introduction of committees, workers' councils, and equity funds with clear regulations and simplified procedures, avoiding excessive bureaucracy. According to analysts, a balanced approach will preserve Istalia's international competitiveness, protect SMEs, and attract investment, without sacrificing the goal of strengthening worker participation and social cohesion.

The Government pushes for ethical entrepreneurship
Tax incentives, national branding, and access to subsidized credit to combine growth, employment, and social responsibility
.
February 5671 (OOC: backdated)
ROMULA - The second Moccia Government has announced the launch of a package of measures aimed at encouraging the spread of ethical industry and entrepreneurship. The goal is to promote a production model capable of reconciling economic competitiveness, worker protection, environmental sustainability, and a positive impact on local communities.
The Minister of Economy, National Industry and Trade, Michela Sardoni (PSD), stated to the press:
Quote:It's not about adding costs to businesses or imposing constraints on consumers, but about supporting those who choose to do business responsibly, without penalizing growth and prices.
For the Government, the new frontier of development lies in an economy that focuses not only on profit, but on the quality of that profit. This involves businesses that respect workers' rights, adopt sustainable practices, maintain transparent supply chains, and invest in the local community.
In concrete terms, this means: fair working conditions, reduced environmental impact, renewable energy, a circular economy, and local reinvestment. This model, according to the government, can strengthen the trust of citizens and investors, as well as reduce the risk of fraud, scandals, and inefficiencies.
The package includes a system of tax breaks for companies that obtain the new national " Impresa Etica" certification. The government, in fact, intends to launch this national label, similar to the one already existing for organic products, in order to certify compliance with ethical standards. Certified companies will receive tax credits, reduced rates, and privileged access to public tenders. This label will enhance competitiveness and reputation for businesses, facilitating access to foreign markets and increasing consumer trust without impacting prices.
At the same time, a " National Fund for Ethical Entrepreneurship" will be created, in collaboration with banks, to guarantee favorable interest rates and dedicated financing tools. This way, the costs of the transition will not fall on consumers but will be offset by a public-private support system.
As said by Minister Sardoni:
Quote:We want to create an ecosystem where being ethical is not a burden, but a competitive advantage.
Recognizing that a large portion of the national productive fabric is made up of small and medium-sized enterprises, the government has planned to create regional hubs for free consulting. Here, SMEs will receive technical support to digitize processes, reduce waste, and adopt sustainable solutions at a low cost.
According to the government's projections, better use of digital technologies and renewable energy will offset much of the initial costs, transforming ethical entrepreneurship into a cost-effective model.
The plan has been welcomed by some business associations, who see the fiscal measures as a concrete incentive to initiate the transition. The trade union movement has also expressed satisfaction, emphasizing how ethical certification can strengthen worker protection.
Analysts, however, urge caution. An economist at the indipendent " Center for Market and Labor Studies", based in Milona, said:
Quote:Success will depend on the government's ability to maintain a balance between incentives and controls. If well managed, this policy could become a competitive advantage for the country in the world landscape.
The government's announcement has sparked reactions among the opposition.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) has expressed strong concerns, accusing the government of " wanting to introduce a system of rewards and punishments that risks stifling free enterprise". According to the PNL group leader in the National Congress, Laura Cantiani:
Quote:The real risk is creating a top-down economy, where politicians decide who is ethical and who is not, distorting competition and discouraging foreign investment.
Democracy & Freedom (D&L) has taken an even more harsh stance, calling it " a cosmetic operation with hidden costs". The party fears that the announced tax breaks will translate into a burden for taxpayers and that non-certified companies could suffer a competitive disadvantage. A D&L spokesperson stated:
Quote:The government portrays ethical entrepreneurship as an advantage, but in reality we risk new, disguised taxes and a suffocating bureaucratic system that will slow growth.
The Hosiano Democratic Union (UOD) responded more moderately. While agreeing with " the importance of promoting responsible practices", it urged the government to be cautious. President of UOD Luciano De Crescenzo explained:
Quote:The issue is serious and deserves attention, but we must prevent certification from becoming yet another bureaucratic red tape. A gradual process is needed, built with the involvement of businesses and trade groups, to avoid further burdening SMEs.

The Imperial Navy launches the new LHD Invicta
A multipurpose vessel that marks a quantum leap in the Imperial State's amphibious and air-naval capabilities
[![[Image: C6ipF4rl.jpeg]](https://i.imgur.com/C6ipF4rl.jpeg)
.
May 5671 (OOC: backdated)
ALBETA - The solemn launch of the new LHD Invicta, the latest flagship of Istalian naval shipbuilding, took place at the Albeta shipyards. The ceremony, charged with symbolic and strategic significance, was attended by His Majesty the Emperor Tommaso, accompanied by Grand Crown Princess Eleonora, who acted as godmother and christened the vessel with the traditional breaking of a bottle.
The LHD Invicta is a multipurpose Landing Helicopter Dock, an amphibious assault helicopter carrier designed to combine amphibious projection, command and control, logistical support, and advanced air-naval operations in a single platform. Over 245 meters long, with a full load displacement of approximately 35,000 tons, the ship has a continuous flight deck with six take-off and landing spots for medium and heavy helicopters, as well as a large hangar below connected by two large elevators.
The latest-generation propulsion system allows for a maximum speed of 25 knots, with a range of over 9,000 nautical miles. The LHD Invicta can embark a contingent of over 900 marines with land and armored vehicles, thanks to a large floodable well deck capable of accommodating landing craft and amphibious vehicles. Defense-wise, the ship is equipped with short-range missile systems, remotely controlled artillery, and an advanced electronics suite for electronic warfare and air defense.
But the real innovation is its naval air flexibility: although conceived as an amphibious ship, the LHD Invicta was built to standards that allow it to operate as a light aircraft carrier. This feature remains, for now, on paper due to delays in the development of the carrier-based version of the new F-60 multirole fighter, the fighter announced under Defense Program 5700, intended as a more affordable version of the more complex and expensive F-52, produced in smaller quantities than expected.
With the LHD Invicta, the Imperial Navy further strengthens its amphibious capabilities, already enhanced in recent years with the entry into service of the LPHs Arturo Gabriele III and Eugenio II. These lighter yet extremely versatile vessels have improved transport and naval air support capabilities in external projection operations. The class will be completed next year with the launch of the Deodato II.
The LHD Invicta, however, represents a qualitative leap: not only because of its increased capacity for transporting troops and equipment, but above all because it will be able to accommodate, in addition to attack and transport helicopters, latest-generation unmanned drones intended for reconnaissance, surveillance, and, ultimately, attack. The Ministry of Defense is evaluating whether, instead of continuing with the program for a carrier-based version of the F-60, it should focus on a smaller purchase of foreign VTOL aircraft, approximately 30 units, thus saving resources for reinvestment in the development of unmanned systems.
The launch of the LHD Invicta is being interpreted as a clear message of the Imperial Navy's desire to consolidate a modern, deployable, and technologically advanced fleet. With it, the Imperial Navy not only expands its amphibious operations and support capabilities in multinational scenarios, but also prepares for a future in which manned aircraft and unmanned systems will operate side by side from the decks of Istalian naval units.
At the same time, construction work is already underway on two new helicopter carriers dedicated to anti-submarine warfare, large platforms specifically designed to strengthen the protection of Imperial sea lanes. Over 250 meters long and with a displacement exceeding 27,000 tons, these vessels will feature a continuous flight deck with five launch sites and a large hangar below, optimized for the embarkation of latest-generation ASW helicopters. Equipped with advanced sensors, multifunction radar, and high-capacity sonar systems, the new helicopter carriers will be able to coordinate complex surveillance and counter-underwater threat operations and decisively strengthen the protection of its sea lines, ensuring a quantum leap in anti-submarine warfare.
With the entry into service of the LHD Invicta and these two future vessels, the Imperial Navy will be able to rely on a balanced force combining amphibious, air-sea, and anti-submarine capabilities, consolidating its position among the most modern and efficient naval forces in the world.

Government launches major Initiatives for tourism, culture and entertainment
Moccia administration's first steps in the cultural and tourism sector: international events, support for young people and new measures to attract visitors
.
November 5671 (OOC:backdated)
ROMULA - After years of focusing on economic, fiscal, labor, and civil rights reforms, the Moccia administration has now launched its first targeted initiatives to enhance cultural heritage, support tourism, and promote new forms of entertainment, with a particular focus on young people.
The Minister of Education and National Culture, in conjunction with the Minister of Environment and Tourism, will allocate special funds for music festivals, fashion shows, exhibitions, and theater performances, with a focus on the creation and promotion of internationally renowned cultural events, destined to become regular fixtures. Among these, already anticipated events will certainly stand out, such as the " Biennale of Sira", in the heart of the most exclusive coast of the island of Alaria, which will bring together contemporary art and the international jet set; the " Torre d'O Sulento International Book Fair", to become a hub for publishers and authors from around the world; and two major festivals of Opera, the " Romula Opera Grand Festival" and " Andalian Opera Festival of Argintera", the latter particularly dedicated to the great baroque composer Giorgio Federico Andali, designed to consolidate the national musical tradition. At the same time, the licensing process for nightclubs and live performances will be simplified, encouraging the opening of new entertainment venues.
For young people, the government has introduced targeted incentives: more generous scholarships, university rent subsidies, grants for cultural exchanges and travel, as well as microcredit tools for personal and entrepreneurial projects. The goal is to increase disposable income and encourage participation in cultural and social events.
To support international tourism, the government has announced its intention to create a protocol with several selected countries that will allow their citizens to enter Istalia without a visa. The stated goal is to attract visitors and develop the business of cultural, hospitality, and entertainment tourism.
Despite the good intentions, however, criticism has not been slow in coming: the Aurorian Church has called the growing visibility of nightlife and youth lifestyles based on luxury and consumption " alarming", and several measures the government intends to adopt have been labeled as further encouraging " worrying" if not downright " immoral" behavior. The Hosian Democratic Union has expressed similar concerns, with MP Osvaldo Martelli warning:
Quote:Promoting culture and entertainment is positive, but we cannot ignore the risk of excesses and premature transgressions among young people. Fewer controls and less rigor in these areas could generate consequences that will have repercussions on the country's social fabric.
The hardline wing of the National Liberal Party, traditionally rigorous on immigration, has also weighed in on the new border policies. MP Alcide Signorini, close to National Secretary Sara Pantaleoni, stated:
Quote:The government is lowering the country's defenses too much in the name of tourism, jeopardizing security and public order. We risk this "Protocol" turning into a Trojan horse, and tourism could be a hiding place for irregular and uncontrolled immigration.
Despite the criticism, the government defends its decisions, emphasizing that the measures are aimed at strengthening tourism, stimulating the cultural economy, and creating new opportunities for young people, laying the foundation for a more dynamic, attractive and internationally competitive Istalia. Economic and cultural analysts highlight how these policies can have a positive impact on international tourism and the country's reputation, consolidating Istalia as a hub for creativity, fashion, and entertainment.

Entertainment deregulation for an open and tolerant society aimed to increase turism and offer new opportunities
Deregulation of the entertainment sector and regulation of sex work at the core of the new measures of the Government
.
February 5672 (OOC: backdated)
ROMULA - The second Moccia government, continuing with interventions in the cultural, tourism, and entertainment sectors, has launched a series of measures aimed at deregulating the entertainment sector and offering new economic tools to young people, consolidating what was begun in previous years.
Among the main innovations is the regulation of sex work, which legally and fiscally recognizes prostitution as an independent activity, guaranteeing protection, health checks, and social security rights. The government has explained that the measure aims to combat exploitation and the black market, offering safety and protection to workers in the sector.
At the same time, strict limits for discos, clubs, and casinos will be abolished, and licensing for live performances, festivals, and private venues will be further simplified. To encourage consumption, young people will have access to microcredit, subsidized mortgages, and more flexible student credit cards, increasing their disposable income and economic freedom.
These additional measures have further fueled the criticism that followed last year's measures. Several members of the Aurorian Church and the Hosian Democratic Union have expressed strong concerns about the regulation of sex work, calling it a measure that " risks normalizing prostitution and sending a mixed message to young people". Conservative MPs argue that protection and safeguards come not through legalization, but through combating the phenomena and situations that can push a person into prostitution, a phenomenon that should be fought, not encouraged. The measures adopted, they argue, risk encouraging, rather than limiting, exploitation and commodification of the body, and could increase copycat behavior among adolescents. From the benches of PNL, instead, the criticism focus on the Government that is just trying to find a new venue of revenues taxing the sex work sector, even promoting such kind of turism, risking to become the ultimate exploiters of these people.
According to the government, these policies create fertile ground for tourism, culture, and entertainment, while also ensuring safety, transparency and an open and tolerant society. Economic and cultural analysts emphasize how these measures could further strengthen Istalia's position as an international hub for events, fashion, and entertainment, consolidating its reputation as an open and modern country.

Porto Aureo and the Solocasie Islands: from the silence of nature reserves to the new pearl of Istalian tourism
From the transformation of the Porto San Filippo naval base to the birth of the new jewel of Istalian jet sets: the GFCAB is reshaping the archipelago
A view of Porto Aureo
.
December 5672 (OOC: backdated)
PORTO SAN FILIPPO - In little more than a generation, the Solocasie Islands, a small archipelago nestled off the northwestern coast of Alaria, have become one of the most renowned and exclusive Istalia's tourism site. With the launch of the " Mare Program" over thirty years ago, the conversion of the old Porto San Filippo naval base into a fully equipped civilian port paved the way for regular connections to the coast and the gradual opening of the islands to tourism. Large portions of the archipelago were designated as nature reserves, protecting unique ecosystems, while at the same time, spaces were designated for targeted, high-quality tourism development.
The decisive leap came with the multimillion-dollar investment by GFCAB, the Imperial Family's holding company, in Setelana Island, the largest of the archipelago. Here, in a previously largely uninhabited coastal area, the " Porto Aureo project" was born. It developed around a small marina where it was created a Yacht Club and quickly transformed into a sophisticated town. One of the project's main promoters and supervisors was Grand Prince Paolo, brother of Alessandro V, who closely monitored the site's growth.
In just fifteen years, " Porto Aureo" established itself as a must-see destination for the Istalian jet set: the round piazza, laid out like an amphitheater, became the beating heart of social life, surrounded by picturesque streets and organically shaped buildings that blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape. The waterfront is dominated by the windows of high-fashion shops while the elegant Hotel Cala dei Rondoni, which also features an exclusive casino, dominates the village from the hills.
Porto Aureo's pull was quick to manifest: Porto San Filippo, the gateway to the archipelago, quickly transformed into a vibrant tourist hub, with new hotels and services now extending along the coast and into the hinterland. Three years ago, furthermore, the construction of an airport in the outskirt of Porto San Filippo began and it is expected to open within five months and to contribute to a further leap for the turism in the area.
The GFCAB has not limited its scope to the coastline. In the heart of Setelana Island, near the picturesque Valle Colata, the "Experience Hotel L'Agrifogliere" opened: a luxury resort with low-rise white and blue buildings, harmoniously integrated into the pristine natural setting. From here, visitors can admire both the vast holly forest overlooking the valley and the northern coast, dotted with coves and cliffs of rare beauty.
Today, the Solocasie Islands represent a perfect combination of environmental protection and economic development: a laboratory of high-end sustainable tourism, capable of enhancing the landscape without distorting it, positioning the archipelago as a top destination in the area.

Fairytale Imperial Wedding: Eleonora and Marco, amid titles, carriages and applause
The newly appointed Duke of Capranica Saliana, along with the Grand Princess, conquers the heart of the capital
.
February 5673 (OOC: backdated)
ROMULA - A day of sunshine, smiles, and sparkles that Romula will never forget: Imperial Grand Princess Eleonora married Marco Balestrieri, officially appointed Duke of Capranica Saliana by Emperor Thomas himself on the morning of the big day. A ceremony that combined the majesty of state with the most genuine romance, transforming the capital into a dreamlike stage.
The day began with the ducal investiture: Marco, visibly moved, received the title from the hands of the Emperor in a brief but solemn ceremony, applauded by his family and the first guests. Immediately thereafter, the Imperial family left Palazzo Quattroregni for the Basilica of All Angels, aboard state carriages, escorted by an elegant corps of mounted Imperial Guards, who led the way amid applause and flowers thrown by the crowds already gathered along the streets.
Shortly afterward, the most anticipated moment arrived: Eleonora's exit. Radiant in a dress that combined baroque details with modern lines, the Princess left Palazzo Quattroregni in a carriage drawn by six white horses, escorted not only by the mounted Imperial Guard but also by a military retinue that added solemnity and rhythm to the procession. Upon arriving at the church, a dozen bridesmaids accompanied her every step, some with delicate bouquets, others with nervous but radiant smiles, while the people applauded enthusiastically along the way.
The Basilica of All Angels, with its polychrome marble and baroque frescoes, welcomed approximately 1,500 guests: royals, heads of state and government, friends, family, artists, and prominent figures from the business and civil worlds. Eleonora walked down the central nave under the emotional gaze of Marco, who awaited her at the altar with understated elegance, his face alight with emotion. With petals thrown and knowing smiles, the ceremony combined solemn moments with personal touches, such as readings by close friends and brief musical interludes, for a breathtaking result.
Many the international guests who attended the event, among which there were Khan Nurhaci and Katun Nalanzhu of Bianjie, Emperor Fredrick IV and Empress Jennifer I Ananto of the Empire of Ananto and Kalistan, Federal President Anna Freiland-Weber of Dundorf and her husband Jonas Freiland, President Putilova of Nadiya accompanied by Chief Executive Liliana Keitel Thaller, the Prince of Orange, William, representing Luthori on behalf of the Emperor and Empress of Luthori, Queen Arianna of Hutori accompanied by Prime Minister Clara Robeson, King Artemio of Egelion and Queen Anastasia Alexanderova of Nadiya, the members of the Presidency of Valruzia Zofia Grzesik, Stefan Sakowski, Maja Kocur, the Chancellor Abdul Jabbar of Badara accompanied by Foreign Minister Abdul Aziz.
After the signing of the registry and the first kiss as husband and wife, the couple left the Basilica amid a shower of confetti and applause, heading towards Quattroregni Palace in an even more impressive procession than the morning's. Harnessed horses, carriages, and officials accompanied the newlyweds through the streets of the capital, where hundreds of thousands of citizens greeted them with flags and flowers. From the main balcony in Piazza Palazzo, Eleonora and Marco blew smiles and kisses to the crowd, amid thunderous applause and flashes of photographers.
The reception in the Great Hall of the Palace was a triumph of refinement: tables decorated with hundreds of flowers, exquisite dishes, and exclusive artistic performances entertained guests for hours. The evening then moved to a more intimate setting, where close friends and family toasted and danced into the night, amid laughter, confessions, and moments stolen by photographers.
With curious details that caught the reporters' attention, such as the bouquet of white roses with a hint of lilac, personally chosen by the Princess, or Marco's small gesture of bowing to the audience before ascending the balcony, the day ended like a true royal dream: Eleonora and Marco, amid elegance, romance, and applause from the public, created a wedding that will remain etched in the memory of Romula and all of Istalia.

5673 Elections: Center-left loses supermajority but Moccia remains firm in government
PSD and PNC decline, Greens on the rise. Center-right rebounds, spurred by UOD and D&L. PNL faces internal difficulties
January 5673 (OOC: backdated)
ROMULA - The general elections have redrawn the country's political map. The Coalition for Change, led by Fabrizio Moccia, remains in government with 309 seats, equal to 65.05% of the Chamber of Deputies, but loses the two-thirds supermajority it won in 5670.
The Socialist Democratic Party (PSD) has seen a decline, falling to 164 seats, penalized by internal tensions and criticism of its more radical wing. The Party of New Communists (PNC) suffered an even more severe decline, stopping at 39 seats, behind the UOD. Many observers linked the loss of support to the controversial proposal to remove the prerogative of Imperial confidence in the government, an initiative that disoriented the electorate and reduced the party's appeal and they didn't expect such a blow to the historically entrenched Communists, nor that the PSD would also be affected by the controversy. In both cases, it appears that part of the more moderate electorate preferred their Green allies to the two parties.
The Greens' Movement (MdV), in fact, gained significantly, rising to 106 seats few seats behind the PNL. Their growth can be explained by an electoral campaign based on economic pragmatism but also by the clear opposition to the Communists' idea about the Crown, a proposal they called " a useless and unproductive institutional controversy".
The Greens' legislative successes on industrial hemp and cannabis have also strengthened their image. Positive sector data, with new production chains, foreign investment, and above all, the explosion of employment at Alaria, are confirming MdV as a major player on the political scene, with their leader Marina Cantalamessa, who, according to some observers, is even competing with Moccia for visibility and leadership of the left.
At the opposition, instead, the center-right is gaining ground overall, reaching 162 seats. The Hosian Democratic Union (UOD) particularly is regaining support among the middle classes and has grown to 40 seats. Democracy & Freedom (D&L), after years of marginalization, is rising to 11 seats, thanks to the support of an electorate attracted by its liberal positions in reaction to the government's leftward shift.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) has seen more modest growth, stopping at 111 seats. The party is suffering from the instability of its leadership following Del Nibbio's resignation and the internal split between a conservative wing pushing for a more radical stance and a moderate faction maintaining its traditional liberal stance. All this caused the party to be poorly effective in their role of main opposition party.
Despite its numerical downsizing, the Moccia government remains firmly in control, supported by the three historic parties of the Coalition for Change. Its majority is smaller, but it continues to control Parliament and ensure political stability. The new five-year term therefore promises to be a period of further profound and incisive reforms, destined to further impact the country's social, cultural, and economic evolution, consolidating the transformations already underway and paving the way for new challenges and opportunities for all citizens.
The composition of the new National Congress will therefore be as follows:
Quote:Total seats: 475, majority seats: 238
PSD: 164 (123 civilians + 41 military)
PNL: 111 (84+27)
MdV: 106 (80+26)
UOD: 40 (29+11)
PNC: 39 (29+10)
D&L: 11 (8+3)
Independent: 4 (3+1)
The Coalition for Change (PSD+MdV+PNC) won 309 seats.

Bolt from the blue in the majority: a hint of reforming the matter of government's confidence sparks controversy
New Communists and more radical fringes question the Emperor's role, while public opinion watches with concern
August 5672 (OOC: backdated - chronologically it came before the 5673 elections post)
ROMULA - A simple hint was enough to trigger a true political earthquake within the governing majority. The Party of New Communists, supported by some radical PSD members, suggested, almost between the lines, taking advantage of the government's supermajority, removing the Emperor's prerogative to grant confidence to the government, leaving Parliament exclusively to determine the executive's confidence.
Currently, confidence is granted by both the parliamentary institution and the Crown: a balance that, for many, represents a guarantee of political stability and institutional continuity, as well as a wall against personalism and authoritarian tendencies. The idea of removing this prerogative of the Emperor, although formulated only as a cue, immediately provoked strong reactions within the majority. " We can't even discuss it without risking a split" commented a PSD deputy, highlighting the electoral risk and the fear of displeasing moderate voters.
The debate has heated up especially within the ranks of the Armed Forces, where conservatives have reacted with indignation. While some PNC-elected military personnel have shown openness, most of the majority's military representatives have expressed opposition, aligning themselves with the rest of the military, invoking historical criticisms of the so-called " great compromise" at the founding of the Imperial State. Some have even called for restrictions on the participation of communist members in the army.
The Greens' Movement has also opposed the idea, fearing that a weakening of the imperial figure could alter the institutional balance and encourage insufficiently controlled government decisions. The newly elected President of the Greens' National Coordination Committee, Marina Cantalamessa, commented on the idea as follows:
Quote:We cannot risk reducing the role of the Crown, which we cannot deny represents a fundamental pillar of our political system, a guarantee, first and foremost, given the particular political system in force in Istalia.
Cantalamessa continued, noting that the proposal, while vague, raises questions about the stability of the government and the balance of power.
The political debate has also sparked a broader reflection on the Crown as an institution. Rooted in the history, especially after two restorations that saw every time Istalia fully restored and reunified under the Imperial rule after periods of divisions and danger for the very Istalian identity, the figure of the Emperor enjoys respect and widespread consensus among large segments of the population, if not outright reverence. For many citizens, the Crown represents not only a symbol of continuity and stability, but also a point of reference for identity and culture, capable of mediating between political forces in times of crisis. Even the mere suggestion of modifying imperial prerogatives was perceived as a gesture that undermines one of the pillars of institutional life and national identity.
The national press wasted no time in seeking a position from Minister Secretary of State Moccia. When questioned about the now heated tone of the debate, the prime minister essentially responded that the government was focused on other, more important issues, emphasizing that it was reckless of the New Communists to even hint at a such idea. Moccia then clarified his personal position: the form of government does not determine how a state treats its citizens, its workers, or its economy. He said:
Quote:There are many republics unabashedly devoted to capitalism but history shows that monarchical systems can coexist with progressive, even radical, policies, with excellent results. The country's political culture must be influenced and shaped first and foremost. The Crown proved to be a key factor for the national and political stability of the country and I don't think that such a debate could lead to something of posivite for the country in this moment.
This position differs from traditional socialist positions, but one that Moccia had already supported internationally, during debates with other socialist forces and with nations organized as socialist republics, criticizing in the past the idea put forward by the PSD leader of hosting an international meeting of global socialist and progressive forces in Istalia precisely because Istalia is a monarchy.
A political analyst observed:
Quote:It's incredible how such a vague idea can upset the balance of power, but it's a sign of how deep and rooted the bond between the people and the Crown is. The Emperor is not just a formality: he is the point of reference for an entire people, and those who challenge him know they are opening a debate that knows no political boundaries.
The case remains at the center of a heated debate within the majority: on one side, the radicals and communists, driven by the desire to strengthen the role of Parliament; on the other, the moderates, military conservatives, environmentalists, and public opinion, not just the more traditional ones, ready to defend the status quo and the centrality of the Crown. A simple suggestion, therefore, has transformed a political suggestion into a veritable bolt from the blue.
