Xsampa reaffirms "Absolute Support Mission" in New Verham; Xsampan Democratic Army to support in training and cooperation.

Today, the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs and the People's Committee of Revolutionary Defense have confirmed, in coordination with the New Verham Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the Xsampan Democratic Army will partake in the Absolute Support Mission, and support training efforts for the New Verham military. As the country rebuilds, security is vital, for without it, economic recovery, and material improvements cannot be made. As such, the Xsampan Democratic Army will closely work with the New Verham Republican Army, and ensure it is adequately trained. The XDA, primarily the Xsampan Democratic Army Ground Forces, will largely focus on ground force training, as New Verham currently lacks an air force, or a navy. 

The goal is to ensure that the NVRA is not only trained to adequate and desired standards, but ensure that the security of New Verham can be independently sustained long term. Due to the explicit desire of the New Verham government, the XDAGF will not partake in any direct security combat, and adhere to a strict advisory role only. Said training will largely resolve around infantry training, and mobile armour training as per requests from the New Verham Ministry of Defense. Beyond supporting the long term stability and security of New Verham, the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs is certain that this is a great step forward in fostering Pan-Dovani sentiment beyond Bianjie and Xsampa. And for a stable, united Dovani, it requires a stable New Verham. 

As the XDA sends advisors to New Verham, we can only wish for the best, both to our comrades heading towards New Verham and to New Verham and her people. The road ahead is long and arduous, but Xsampa stands ready to support our comrades in Dovani.

Xsampa begins discussions with Bianjie over potential economic union; Metz-Leonid and Gemun to talk.

Last year, People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs, Kalingpong endorsed the idea of an economic union for Dovani, and since then, the national conversation has shifted drastically. While there remain significant doubts over whether a socialist country could join an economic union and retain socialist values, this hasn't stopped the conversation from being discussed. And, this week, to wrap up the year, the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that active talks were being held with Bianjie over the possibility of an economic union, not just between Xsampa and Bianjie, but one available to all of Dovani, irregardless of whether socialist or capitalist. As such, Comrade Kalingpong is spending the rest of the year in Gemun to continue active negotiations with his Bianjian counterpart, Rong Litari, over whether such an economic union is possible, and especially whether it's possible without compromising the economic systems of Xsampa and Bianjie.

The fact that the conversation is actively happening between the two states however, is telling that despite the bruises that Pan-Dovani sentiment has taken over the 55th century, it's marching into the 56th century with its chin held up high. But, we're likely to see the results by next year. If a proper economic union can be formed, it would be the first in a very long time for Dovani, and it can very easy be a way for all of Dovani to share prosperity, not just select regions. But, the biggest hurdle will be it's foundation, as Bianjie does embrace a capitalist economic model, even if it is more state oriented, compared to the market socialist nature of Xsampa's economy. If these hurdles can be overcome, then it's likely that an economic union treaty can pass PAX and pass with public approval. 

Whatever the case, details are light so far as the talks are in their early phase, but there's a sense of optimism that this can be achieved, and that Pan-Dovani Sentiment can be a major force beyond rhetoric. The last major institutional win for Pan-Dovanism was the Sovereign Sea Accords in the 5680s, but a proper Dovani economic union can very well be even more of a major institutional win, and solidify Pan-Dovani Sentiment to not just Dovani, but the world, as possible, instead of just empty words and rhetoric.

In what many thought was a repeat of history, a delegate from Amudim was sent to Metz-Leonid earlier this year, to discuss the possibility of ensuring the Permanent Peace (as established by Mearvi-Shar) is maintained and Vamaj related oil routes are protected and safeguarded. Such an action brought much controversy and fear, as many thought the disaster that was Mearvi-Shar would occur once again. However, those fears evaporated earlier this week as the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that despite welcoming the delegate, any talks with Yishelem have been deemed, infeasible at the moment, and for the foreseeable future due to domestic concerns over the security of Yeudi delegates, especially in Metz-Leonid. When questioned about the possibility of talks emerging elsewhere in a neutral environment, People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs, Kalingpong affirmed the following.

The goal of a peaceful world, especially in Dovani, is an admirable goal. However, we cannot in good conscience, repeat the mistakes of the past. Maintaining the Permanent Peace between Xsampa and Amudim, cannot come from a transaction. It must come naturally. Despite the values of the Sunshine Policy, there cannot be direct detente with the legal successor of Beiteynu. As such, talks are currently unfeasible. Both for the security of the honoured delegate, and for the greater good.

As such, the delegate is likely to be sent home within the week. However, the national conversation has come to include the future of Dovani. It's no secret that, for reasons beyond Xsampan media, the Egelian intervention in New Verham has started significant controversy in the Western hemisphere, despite the prosperous and cooperative conduct of Egelion. So it begs the question of whether Xsampa should take a more active approach in ensuring peace and stability in Dovani. It's a slippery slope into imperialism. But the question is being asked and many in Xsampa are debating. Whatever the case, the current conversation in Egelion, with many states invited (as well as Xsampa as a silent observer) has shown, that despite concerns, Egelion is willing to strengthen or at least attempt to, embrace diplomatic cooperation with other states.

Imperialism or Peacekeeping? How have Egelian activities affected Dovani, and the world?

Dovani is no stranger to imperialism. For as long as the Proletariat of Dovani has stood firm, there have been imperialists. Exploitations. Colonists. Some have been open about it, willfully embracing the term, imperialist. Others, have denied it she claimed they were spreading peace, prosperity and joy. Today, it's Egelion that's the focus. Some, especially in the West call Egelion an imperialist state, and it's allies as mere puppets to Altéa. Others, will view Egelion as a peacekeeper, even if they have flaws. Today, we're going to look into the actions of Egelion, and the consequences they've had on Dovani, and the wider world.

First, we need to establish the basics. Egelion is an "Enlightened Absolute Monarchy", with, charitably, democratic characteristics. Does this mean to imply that only monarchies can do imperialism? No. But, this is required for the basis of comparison. Alongside this, Egelion operates a mixed economy, with a relatively robust welfare system. Nothing too crazy, nor exciting. This is what we're working with when comparing.

Now, let us look to the very first instance of Egelian interventions. Rildanor. In the 5660s and 70s, a fascist state emerged from Rildanor, and Egelion was quick to strike, declaring war against the fascist state and supporting a breakaway Republic on the island of Meriath. It goes without saying that opposition to fascism is always a moral thing to do, and that no expense can be spared opposing fascism. Could this be considered imperialism? Egelion did secure basing rights in Meriath, which could be argued as an imperialist action. However. It is worth noting that the population of Meriath willingly offered basing rights, and held successful democratic, republican elections in which socialists prevailed. The will of the people, chose to trust Egelion. It cannot be argued as imperialism, as it was in the goal of shattering fascism in Rildanor, which ultimately occured in the late 5670s.

Moving onto the next example, the Kerisian War, and the formal establishment of the Kerisian Empire. Yes, the war with New Endralon and Kizenia. A controversial war, no doubt. In the early 5680s, a reactionary military overthrew the civilian government of NEK and was quick to antagonize neighbouring states such as Nadiya, and of course, Egelion. After a protest turned violent and a protestor was shot, a protester of Egelian citizenship, the Kerisian War began, as Nadiya and Egelion looked to invade and put the reactionary state down. The war would quickly end with a victory for Egelion, Nadiya and Kalistan (as Kalistan would join the war effort due to security concerns), and the results? Democracy in NEK, a personal union between Egelion and NEK, and the formation of the Kerisian Empire. Could this be considered imperialism? Maybe. However, land grabs were firmly rejected, and democratization was mandated. No Egelian puppets installed into power. No annexed territory. Afterwards, Egelion willingly poured hundreds upon hundreds into the development of NEK. No resource extraction. You can argue that the Kerisian Empire is imperialist. However, you can also try arguing that Amudim is a real state. Each state within the Kerisian Empire willingly joined. Even to the detriment of Egelion, such as NEK due to the financial black hole it was at the end of the Kerisian War.

And finally, the most controversial, New Verham. Egelion did intervene abruptly. That's undeniable, and it has started conversation on whether Dovani states should take more initiative and whether Egelion is an imperialist power. However, it is also worth noting that Egelion did cooperate with regional partners, such as Xsampa and Bianjie, and even international partners, such as Wrnuke and Luthori. As New Verham bled, Egelion spent lives and money on assisting the people and peacekeeping operations. And what is the end result? They handed responsibility over to regional allies (again, Xsampa and Bianjie), and are providing economic aid to New Verham. The results arguably speak for themselves. 

The important question to ask, however is not if these actions were imperialist. It's to ask, would anyone have done anything? Would anyone have saved Rildanor from fascism? Would anyone have toppled the reactionary junta in NEK? Would anyone have willingly cooperated with other powers to resolve New Verham? No. But Egelion did. Despite the financial costs. Despite the cost of lives. Despite everything. And if there's one thing they can be said about Egelion, it's this. They can be rash and abrupt, yes. But, they will always try to ensure international allies are in the loop and will step up if they mess up. Very few powers will do such a thing and admit when they mess up.

New Hope Initiative begins in Tukarali; Supporting our comrades abroad.

As the relationship between Tukarali and Xsampa have deepened ever since it's Revolution, it was only a matter of time before the New Hope Initiative was offered to Tukarali to assist our comrades in development. This week, the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the New Hope Initiative will be offered to Tukarali. As such, Xsampa will support the development of critical infrastructure in Tukarali, and invest into the education of Tukarali, to ensure a solid education system and a well educated workforce, especially in the fields of agriculture and manufacturing. The most important aspect, will be modular factories, which will focus on employing locals and work with the government of Tukarali to ensure medicine and textiles, something that the Tukarali government has expressed interest in, can be produced domestically.

The goal is to ensure that Tukarali can stand strong in its own feet, as well as simply providing aid to our comrades in Seleya. As the New Hope Initiative is expanded to Tukarali, it's likely that further bilateral agreements are to come later this decade or sometime next year. Even if no agreement comes, we're more than happy to provide whatever aid our comrades in Tukarali need.

While so far, the only socialist states in the world remain Tukarali and Xsampa, it does beg the question of whether Socialist International could be revived. While it seems unlikely due to the past incarnations failing, it's still a worthy thought experiment for many Xsampans. Whatever the case, the relationship with Tukarali is only likely to get strengthened.

Avionics Industrial Expansions; Expanding the manufacturing sector.

If there is one thing that the Metok Administration has focused heavily on domestically, it's the economy. Whether it be increasing purchasing power of Xsampans, or expanding industries to promote more jobs, this administration has focused on the economy consistently and this week is no different as the aviation industry will receive the focus of industrial growth. While the aviation industry is already known for producing consistent airplane parts, that's quite vague now, isn't it? As such, this industrial expansion will largely focus on expanding the industry and diversifying it.

The first step is expanding production of said parts. Instead of relying on just wings and engines, factories will need to expand into producing and manufacturing flight control and navigation systems. The logic is the same as shipbuilding. And the wider manufacturing industry. That being, the progressive workshop idea. Airframes can be bought, licensed, or co-produced for the world. Whether it be for state governments or foreign corporations willing to pay the price, Xsampa can start going from airplane parts producer, into an airplane manufactor-er for the world. Whether it be domestic designs (both civilian and military), or foreign designs.

As such, this is where maintenance will be vital. Aircraft maintenance hubs will need to be expanded, alongside expanding parts certification and testing programs, and expanding avionics facilities. Beyond providing skilled jobs, the goal is to also encourage regional airlines to pick Xsampa, and even allow for training of foreign pilots and technicians for airlines that pick Xsampa. And this, leads to air traffic control systems. If increased traffic is desired, air traffic management systems will need to be expanded and upgraded. This means the need for secure transponders and collision avoidance software. The goal is to ensure safer skies, adequate handled of air traffic, and modernization of civil aviation.

Metok wins a 2nd term; To another five years.

The 5705 elections have concluded, and it's safe to say that the Metok Administration will continue on for another 5 years as it has a mandate to form a government coalition. Metok has pledged to continue his agenda of economic growth, but has made a key focus on strengthing Pan-Dovani institutions, especially with the recent signature of DEAB. With the CPX celebrating the victory, and PAX getting ready for a new legislative session, let's go over the actual election results themselves.

Starting off with the winner of the election, the Communist Party of Xsampa made solid gains, 16 seats and moving to 255 seats, with a firm 2.8% swing. This has been attributed to moderates endorsing the Metok Administration, and SLP voters defecting en masse. Speaking of the SLP, they have dropped to 74 seats, seeing a swing of -4.1% as voters have left the SLP behind, largely over its identity and the recent division in the SLP Primaries last year. Moving onto the XIP, they have cemented the Xsampan Right firmly, moving to 132 seats, with a 1.2% swing in their favour. Next, Left-Green Dovani, which saw 7 seats gained, and a swing of 1.1%, even with Pan-Dovani Sentiment making major ground in this environment. Land and Bread fell to 15 seats, as rural voters flipped to XIP, causing a swing of -0.3%. Meanwhile the GNP has managed to hold onto its niche of Social Monarchism, but has lost 3 seats, dropping to 18 seats with a swing of -0.5%. The Democratic Progressive Party has also seen a minor drop, dropping to 5 seats with a swing of -0.1%. Barely any changes, but still notable as the DPP has not been ejected from PAX. The XLF keeps its usual 1 seat, and 3 independents also won.

It's clear of 3 things. One, voters chose to not rock the boat and embrace the CPX for another term as the economic growth and stability in the past 5 years was rewarded. Two, the Xsampa Improvement Party has cemented itself and the Xsampan Right as capable of existing as a conservative socialist alternative, to the CPX. And three, the Socialist Labour Party, a giant in the 56th century, is continuing its trend of dying as it continues to lose seats every election. Associated trade unions have questioned whether staying with the SLP is a wise idea, and there are even rumours of potential splits and dissents in the SLP. Whatever the case, Metok has included the SLP and Left-Green Dovani into a governing coalition.

Editorial Opinion; Who has been the biggest driver behind Global Imperialism? Hint, it isn't from Keris.

Recently, the world has been in an anti-imperialist frenzy. While this is nominally good, as imperialism belongs in the dustbin of history, there has been controversy, particularly in the global community over who exactly is causing imperialism. Many have pointed towards Egelion, as the chief driver of imperialism. While this "theory" has been debunked by another editorial, and has been debunked by physical, material proof, there can be no doubt that there has been imperialism in the world. But the question is, if it's not by Egelion, then by who? We, believe to have the answer. And it isn't coming from the Kerisian continent.

We point the finger squarely at the most liable proponent of imperialism. The collective individual who has been responsible for global imperialism for centuries. From Artania to Dovani, and form Keris to Seleya. Yishelem. We need to only look at the past for our proof. From collaboration with Dovani Fascists, to Blackmail in Keris, to the curbing of self determination in Artania, any state that has emerged from Yishelem has shown one consistent trait. Imperialism. 

Thus, the argument is not whether Yishelem has, historically or present, been responsible for imperialism. The question is, how much imperialism? Given that there are almost 5 centuries worth of proof, the answer is a long one. And, to save time, we shall only point towards a handful of examples. And our first example, shall be Dankuk, or rather, Baeguk as it's known nowadays. Back in the 5300s, the country was under an ethno-nationalist fascist dictatorship, and the resistance, the United Anti-Fascist Committee bravely resisted the fascistic state. Only to be sold out by Yishelem for opportunists in the military. While Baeguk was ultimately freed from fascism, this doesn't excuse the crime that is selling our freedom fighters to reactionaries. If that's not enough, how about another? It's no secret that Yishelem will do anything, and throw anyone under the bus to advance their agenda. Case in point, Cildania. Anti-Yeudi sentiment was stirred by Yishelem, and even terrorism was funded by Yishelem, alongside a bombing of the largest synagogue in the country. All to advance their interests. Need more? How about the Hubris War? Started by the imperialists tendrils of Yishelem to dethrone the global Yeudi Diaspora. A war where the Proletariat died for the "mighty hand" of influence. If you need a more recent example, antagonism of Dovanian self-determination, which we saw with the Red Bass War! Time and time again, Yishelem has proven itself to be hostile to the interests of global peace. Whether it be provoking sovereign states, cooperating with other states to bring down self-determination, or committing crimes to further their agenda, it's clear that there is no limit to the imperialism from Yishelem. 

That is why it is a shame to see foreigners throw imperialist accusations around at Egelion or even Kalistan, when it's clear that neither have a candle compared to the house fire that is imperialism from Yishelem! Let it be known. Yishelem will lie. Yishelem will cheat. Yishelem will throw whatever, or whoever, under the bus to advance their interests. If there is anyone who is without a doubt imperialist, it is those who reside in Yishelem. This isn't to say that every Yeudi is an imperialist. Certainly not, no, they are more often a victim of Yishelem. But, it goes without saying that any successor state to Beiteynu is viewed with skepticism in Xsampa. 

They speak of peace, and burn down homes. They speak of prosperity, and impoverish millions. They speak of independence, and club self-determination. If there is one label besides imperialist that can be given to Yishelem, it is hypocrite.

Today, the People's Committee of Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed Xsampan commitments to RASA, in regards to New Verham. People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs, Kalingpong has reaffirmed that Xsampa will maintain its responsibilities and commitments to the ongoing RASA mission in New Verham, with the Xsampan portion focusing on ensuring development and solidarity. As such, Xsampa will join in, on providing investments into New Verham, focusing on assisting the New Verham workforce on physical reconstruction of the country, particularly on key infrastructure, such as Highways, Rails, Ports, and vital service buildings (hospitals and schools). 

The goal is to ensure that New Verham can stand on its own two feet and thrive, whilst also ensuring that the necessities for a stable economy, that being good infrastructure, are provided and available. And the best way to achieve that, is to support the New Verham workforce. This is largely to avoid dependence.

Whatever the case, Xsampa will continue to support New Verham in its reconstruction.
