ENERGY TRANSITION AGENDA
Executive Committee presents plans for offshore wind park and solarfarms

Based on the systems already constructed by foreign companies, the solar industry is to be massively expanded. No licenses have been requested for this

High reactor maintenance costs, air pollution, destruction of nature and the environment for opencast mining. According to Director Karesarbo, these are all the consequences of a “failed energy policy over the last few decades”. Under her leadership, Zardugal is now to undergo a green transformation. The agenda primarily includes large-scale projects to expand energy generation from wind and sunlight, as well as the development of new capacities for storing electricity.
In the field of solar energy, Karesarbo is not afraid to step on the toes of former business partners. According to her, work is already underway to reconstruct existing structures and their components on a large scale in order to expand solar farms. Without consulting the former contractors, diplomatic headwinds are to be expected, but the director seems unconcerned about this: “It is too urgent to act and the threats to people and the environment are too serious if the matter is postponed any longer.”

PLIDASAMO ABLE TO SECURE MAJORITY
A new Director and possibly a new course for Zardugal

[Image: csm_DBT-Johannes-Fechner-SPD_e85ce19cba.webp]
Pedro Plidasamo during the first session of the newly elected Executive Committee

During his campaign, Plidasamo deliberately portrayed himself as a “great innovator.” This theme resonated widely with both the general public and the Supreme Council. His slogan, “Govern instead of administer” (Regi anstataŭ administri), seemed to many to be a precise summary of what they believed had been going wrong in Zardugal for decades.

His only competitor, Sklerotio Surfungo, withdrew his candidacy for the office of director the day before yesterday. Today's election in the Supreme Council now seemed to be nothing more than a formality. But even under these circumstances, the result is remarkable. With 115 votes in favor (92%), Plidasamo achieved the best result in the history of the republic. The announcement of the result was followed by several minutes of thunderous applause. The subsequent votes on the appointment of commissars also turned out to be a resounding victory for the new director. Each individual department will now be filled by his preferred candidate. The leap of faith given to Plidasamo is undoubtedly enormous, but so are the expectations of the councilors.
In his inaugural speech, “Pépé,” as the former diplomat and previous foreign commissioner is jokingly called, sharply criticized the isolationist, self-centered course of Zardic politics to date.

In his opinion,
"...the consequences of serious foreign policy misjudgments and amateurish crisis management have paralyzed the country and left it virtually traumatized."
Plidasamo also regrets that
"...we failed to recognize and acknowledge our own mistakes in crises such as the escalation of the security situation in Majatra during the civil war in Istalia or the diplomatic disputes with Kundrati after the fascist coup d'état in order to learn from them (...) Instead, this resulted in a mentality of withdrawal, resignation, and isolation. "
In his view, the country had allowed itself to be carried away by
"...making the behavior of a hurt child a political rationale.”
In conclusion, Plidasamo reiterated his vision for the future of Zardugal, which is to put an end to the mistakes and omissions of recent decades.

He concluded with the words,

"Zardugal has a place in the world, Zardugal deserves a place in the world, and from now on it will fill that place again, ladies and gentlemen. With moderation, but also with determination!”

FARMAKON-Z LAUNCHES FANDIGRASON™ FOR INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Above all, the new area of application promises high sales

So far, the substances still have to be injected, but work is already underway to change this

Here in Zardugal, the brand name of the skrubaglutide preparation has been on everyone's lips for a long time, but elsewhere too, there is now growing interest in this apparent ‘miracle injection’. This was triggered by the positive evaluation and official approval of the drug for the treatment of morbid obesity and for the general prevention of further metabolic diseases in patients who are already obese

People in countries such as the Triad Republics, Egelion and Luthori, who are more affected by such ‘luxury diseases’ due to the economic conditions, the prevailing food supply and dietary habits, have shown particular interest in therapy with the novel drug.
In close consultation with the Economic Commissariat, FARMAKON-Z has now announced that it will ramp up production to manufacture batches intended exclusively for export. This is to ensure that international trade in the coveted drug does not lead to shortages at home.
According to the commissariat's press spokesman, this would be a ‘unique opportunity to obtain large amounts of foreign currency necessary for imports without creating a disadvantage for Zards affected by diabetes’.

For the future, substances with the same effect that can be administered orally are already being tested with promising results. However, it is still too early to make any definitive statements about the date of a possible market approval, according to Tristan Turnupilo, spokesperson for the research department at FARMAKON-Z.

A DIPLOMATIC OFFENSIVE
Zardugal wishes to see the rest of the world once again

Raspilo Glicirizo, Commissar of Foreign Affairs during the press conference

The major reforms announced by the new Executive Committee when it was elected a year ago also envisaged a shift in the hitherto isolationist foreign policy.
Commissar Glicirizo has now announced the fulfilment of this mandate in the form of a large-scale diplomatic tour.

The tour will, of course, begin in Majatra. The priorities here are to further consolidate the security of the continent, stabilise and normalise bilateral relations with Vanuku and Istalia, and, if necessary, clarify economic issues. Deltaria is also of interest in this regard.

The second stop will be Xsampa. Even though relations have fallen dormant due to diplomatic passivity on our part, Glicirizo is confident that he will be able to quickly deepen relations with this ‘natural ally’ again.

Next up will be Artania. In addition to Narikaton and Darnussia, Kundrati is of particular interest here. Relations with this country have not always been easy, but the Commissar is open to dialogue, as the current government seems to be making a sincere effort to critically examine its criminal past. No further destinations on the continent have been firmly planned yet, but there is sufficient time to arrange them if needed, according to Glicirizo.

Finally, trips will also be made to states in Seleya and Keris. Exact destinations have not been announced at this point, but it is likely that at least Kalistan, Egelion and Nadiya will be part of the tour.

ZARDUGAL WISHES YEUDI EMIGRANTS A SAFE JOURNEY
Saying goodbye was not always easy, but they will be warmly welcomed in their new home

Around 30,000 people gathered today at the port of Skrubio to bid a solemn farewell to 2500 Yeudi emigrants on their way to the ferries. The destination of the journey is Amudim. The travellers accepted an offer from the Triad Republic to receive financial support for the establishment of new settlements there.
Even though many of them are turning their backs on one home, they are convinced that they can build another in Amudim that better meets their wishes and expectations. One of the emigrants, Simon Hamutal, a 32-year-old engineer who until recently lived and worked in Fajroturo, describes his ambivalent feelings about the decision as follows:
Quote:"Of course, it's a difficult farewell, and it would certainly be more comfortable to stay here, so to speak. However, I am deeply rooted in my culture and my faith, and when I read that the Triad Republics were providing financial support to large groups of emigrants, I felt it was almost my duty to answer the call. Over the last few weeks, I have been stressed out organising everything I need for the trip, but now I am just glad that the time has come."

Like many others, Hamutal was affected by a somewhat less romantic part of the story.
Before departure, hundreds of cases of property ownership had to be clarified. Due to the change of citizenship and permanent residence, many of the assets previously owned would no longer have been permissible under applicable law.
At the request of the Yeudis Association in Zardugal (‘Jeŭdoj Asocio en Zardugal’), the individual applications for compensation were consolidated and processed quickly. The compensation offered by the state was unanimously accepted by the central committee of the JAZ. The association, which is widely recognised among the Yeudi community, will now take care of the further distribution among the emigrants.
Hamutal was also grateful for the ‘commitment and speedy processing of the procedure’. Nevertheless, he could not resist a final friendly dig at his old homeland
Quote:"Knowing Zardugal as I do... I really did not expect that my last bureaucratic procedure with this state would be one of the easiest. But it's nice to part ways like this!"

SUPREME COUNCIL AUTHORIZES FURTHER DEFORESTATION
Additional thousands of hectars will be cleared to expand plantations and construct a greenhouse complex

Photo from the time of the last wave of deforestation (5583)

Despite sharp criticism from renowned environmental experts and a citizens' initiative to protect the Kasteleto forest, the Supreme Council approved the proposed plan to carry out clearing work. The resolution also included a plan for the immediate clearance and monitoring of the described area after approval. This shows that lessons have been learned from past mistakes. The rapid action, which some considered draconian, was explicitly justified on the grounds that ‘chaotic proceedings with many delays due to the evacuation of individual forest occupiers should be avoided at all costs’.

In a written statement, the environmental protection organisation ‘Kasti restas!’ strongly condemned the actions of the decision-makers.
Quote:"The debate on the resolution to cut down the Kasteleto forest once again was deliberately conducted behind closed doors, with the result only being announced once it was certain that civil disobedience could be “curbed”. Public discourse and participation by the population should not have been allowed to happen in the first place. In our view, this is not the behaviour of a democratic state, it is tyranny!"

The Supreme Council and its Executive Committee only commented indirectly on the serious allegations:
Quote:"We consider political confrontation with organisations that harbour potential terrorists in their ranks to be pointless and undesirable."
Filipo Falareto, press spokesman for the Executive Committee

This is probably a reference to the fact that some prominent members of the protest group are currently in custody. Chat histories gave rise to the suspicion that there were plans to plant explosives in areas of woodland that are due to be cleared.
So far, it appears that the work can be carried out as planned starting next week. Protests are currently only known to be taking place outside the affected forest area. The closure is therefore not failing to achieve its purpose.

SUCCESSFUL NEGOTIATIONS WITH VANUKU
"A great day for South Majatra" according to Commissar Glicirizo

Glicirizo after the diplomatic meeting in Wiel

After hours of negotiations on three consecutive days, it is now sealed: the border will be relaxed.
A summary of the agreement, which will come into force in July

Demilitarisation of the border: Heavy weapons will be dismantled with immediate effect and moved inland.
Troop contingents are to be withdrawn to a distance of 100 km from the border. A few thousand soldiers will continue to monitor the border crossing on a transitional basis until their duties have been completely handed over to the civilian police.
Private travel: Only a few random checks for passenger vehicles, simplified visa procedure.
Transit of goods: Will be possible again for individual goods/orders. Mass imports and exports will continue to require approval from the Economic Commissariat. However, general relaxations have already been announced for agricultural products as export goods and for electronic components as import goods.

According to information from Fajroturo, the Executive Committee is also planning a general simplification of the movement of goods with Vanuku. In response to our enquiry as to how these plans would be compatible with the principles of the Zardic economic system, the Economic Commissariat replied:
Quote:"This is about trade with immediate neighbours with whom we share an extensive land border. In this case, the flow of goods takes place anyway – with or without a legal framework. We consider regulation to be more appropriate than prohibition. Furthermore, good trading partners also make good neighbours. We do not see potential relaxations as a threat to the Zardic market and refer to assessments by the National Institute of Economics in this regard."

ISTALIAN DELEGATION WELCOMED IN FAJROTURO
A historic reunion, after decades of "awkward silence"

Even though an agreement was reached at the end of the Istalian Civil War on the peaceful evacuation of the remaining Zardic volunteer fighters, there had never been any official normalisation of relations between Zardugal and Istalia.Today's meeting is intended to remedy this situation and clear up any ambiguities.
To kick things off, a peace treaty between the nations was ceremoniously signed in the presence of the press. Even though this was not a legal necessity given that hostilities had long since ended, both sides agreed that a symbolic conclusion to the past would be beneficial for a successful restart of relations.
The ceremony was followed by a speech held by Director Plidasamo in which he welcomed the members of the delegation, His Majesty Emperor Tomaso V, Secretary of State Fabrizio Moccia and Foreign Minister Laura Passerini once more and thanked them for their visit. He described the fact that Istalia had accepted the invitation so willingly, almost joyfully, as "the first major success of the entire undertaking". The Director also expressed his excitement for the upcoming talks and hoped for a productive co-operation to ensure peace and prosperity in Majatra. After a short speech held by Emperor Tomaso V, the delegation withdrew with the Director and other members of the Executive Committee for secluded talks.
In addition to organisational issues concerning the schedule of further, more ceremonial events such as the swearing-in of a new ambassador, future economic relations are also to be discussed.
However, one item is likely to be at the top of the agenda, namely the current simmering conflict between Istalia and Vanuku, which recently culminated in the expulsion of the Istalian ambassador.
Although the Executive Committee did not comment on the incident, it seems clear that it cannot be in Zardugal's interest to take sides.
It seems almost like a twist of fate that, after decades of diplomatic abstinence, Zardugal has once again managed to manoeuvre itself between the fronts of a diplomatic conflict at the first opportunity.

The Triad is committed to equally share the civilizational responsibilities of keeping the flow of trade free and secure from hindrances. Hence our current government has decided to work with together with everyone for a better and safer Pass, the MPS is the product of this decision, a decentralized coordinative project to ensure the responsible usage of these waters for future generations.
