The Southern Seleya Command in Mordusia, under which the Luthorian “South Seas” Fleet is under the command of, has announced that, to “protect international shipping lanes in times of great uncertainty” and “provide increased support for Mordusian territorial defence”, that in an yet-to-be released agreement with the Government of Istalia in Romula, that the Luthorian Empire would now be engaged in recurring patrol sessions in the Sea of Lost Souls. 

This area, in which both the Imperial Confederation (through the Commonwealth of Mordusia) and the Istalian Empire (core territory) have a presence, has long been a vital trading point, with thousands of oil tankers, cargo ships passing by the area every single day. Through its coastline, Mordusia maintains an exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the Sea of Lost Souls – in which Mordusia has full jurisdiction.  

Admiral Oliver Tadming, in charge of the South Seleya Command, said that Luthori and Istalia engaging in joint operations – came following “extensive talks between both parties on the nature of their cooperation”, he moreover stated that it was “likely” that this operation transforms into a “wider Confederation-SOMECO collaboration in the Lost Souls” - pointing out to the successful talks with Istalian officials in Romula.

While the Sea of Lost Souls is a highly-important passage for international shipping, it has been the theater of numerous conflicts in history – the most recent one being the infamous Lost Souls War, also known as the “Hubris War” between the Canrillaise Empire and the State of Beiteynu, this war, lasting between 5470 and 5473 led to the Yeudi state’s naval defeat to the Canrillaise forces. Luthori’s decision to remain neutral in this conflict, even if Beiteynu had recognised then-Emperor Albert as its monarch, was later described as the “most short-sighted decision in Luthorian foreign policy history” and led to the rise in internet memes describing Luthori as a “bottler” or an “incompetent” state. 

Admiral Tadming, while knowing of the historical context behind this Sea for Luthori – nonetheless said that this operation was aimed at “security in the Sea of Lost Souls, for the smooth passage of commercial vessels, together with partnered states in Majatra”. The Fort William Stock Exchange reacted positively to the news – as in the absence of the Aldegar Canal, the Sea of Lost Souls became the number 1 passage for worldwide southern trade - and by extension Luthorian trade.

Both Admiral Tadming and the Luthorian Foreign Office stressed the role of Istalia and the wider SOMECO organisation in this multilateral operation, a Luthorian diplomat stated that “Istalia and the SOMECO as a whole – are an essential part of this operation, with Luthori merely providing increased support to their existing operations in the area, through an cooperation agreement between both states.”  

“Istalia and Luthori have a long history of working together – and the willingness of Romula of not only acquiescing but also agreeing to work together with Luthori in a wider regional patrol scheme in the Sea of Lost Souls will reinforce security in the area and increase mutual understanding”, said Foreign Secretary Stanley when asked about the Sea of Lost Souls’ announcement.

Stonewall: “Nadiya is a scam, rotted in inequality”, says Tory MP following TEF joining.

Following the entry of numerous Luthorian corporations into the Nadiyan-founded Terran Economic Forum. Conservative MP Joseph Stonewall addressed this information in a Channel 7 interview. During this interview, the Conservative former cabinet minister now turned backbencher has addressed numerous issues such as the Conservative Party’s future, the Tories’ welfare policy and finally, foreign policy through his sharp critique of Nadiyan governance and constitution. 

“Nadiya is basically every man-hating people’s dream. A nation ran by women, for women and where the possibilities of men ascending to the highest offices is near null.”, Stonewall said. He moreover added that he was “ashamed” by the corporations’ decision to join the Nadiyan-led international initiative. 

First thought as an international forum bringing together corporate leaders in Nadiya, the forum became rapidly controversial as international studies showed Nadiya as an “unequal state”, where the rights of man and women are artificially kept different by the Nadiyan authorities – with men being granted nominal equal rights to women, by women being far more present then men in high-responsibility offices. 

“Nadiya remains a weird spot on the map – while the rest of the world has embraced modernity and pursued equality for both men and women – Nadiya entered an era embracing misandrist ideals, where women are placed in a pedestal compared to men. I find it personally shameful that our companies and our government would step so low than to continue entertaining relations with this rogue state”, Stonewall added. 

Several liberal thinkers have called Nadiya the “antithesis of the modern feminist movement”, with its embrace of misandrist ideals being referred as “counter-productive” to the “rightful fight of women” across the world. Social conservatives have pointed at the consequences of Nadiya (formerly known as Trigunia) as to why feminism “leads to men’s demotion in society”. 

Libertarian thinker, George Fehlinger has posted on social media a critic of Luthori’s role in cautioning the “male genocide” in Nadiya, calling for the dismantlement of the Nadiyan state into “Ex-Nadiya” - he argues that the total dismantlement of the Nadiyan Confederation will “bring prosperity, full equality and freedom” to “all peoples of the Trigunian islands – currently subjugated under Nadiyan rulership” 

Stonewall remains a lone voice – at odds with the leadership of the hard right Identity Study Committee, his influence within the Conservative Party is virtually non-existant, nonetheless, as a former cabinet minister, he can be called upon by current ISC leader, Patrick Simon, should the need arise. He’s nonetheless expressing the point of view of many Conservatives, increasing unwell with Luthori’s continued relationship with Nadiya due to the perceived treatment of men in the nation.

Normally silent on most controversies related to the imperial family – the Imperial Household Ministry today released a statement regarding some comments from the Egelian press concerning the Luthorian monarch and his family. 

In a special paper from the Egelian Icónico magazine focused on an interview of Egelian Queen and Empress Isabella, wife of Emperor Leon Alexander – the paper praised the Empress’ style of parenting, praising their presence in their four children’s lives. Nothing to worry about, but a comparison was established with Luthorian monarchs – if it was in a meliorative way, then none of this controversy would have ever existed.  

But “Icónico’s” paper states otherwise, stating that “Most royal children, such as Luthorian ones, are often left to their nanny's and handed to fate itself. Hence Luthorian monarchs with bad decision making and critical thinking skills are gracefully left out into our world.” - this statement marked an unprecedented insult towards the House of Orange-Villayn, the Luthorian education system and seems to have also directly insulted the emperor and his predecessors. 

The Imperial Household Ministry usually doesn’t react towards what it sees as the “free press’ right to indulge itself in unfortunate lies and deceit” - when faced with an untrue statement in regards to the imperial family. But this statement shook to the very core of Luthorian society and especially within the Monarchy, after all, seeing the Luthorian monarch being directly insulted in a foreign paper, especially from a state not too hostile to the Luthorian Crown. 

The Palace responded with a statement from a spokesperson on that specific issue – stating the following. 

The Imperial Household respect the rights and privileges of the free press throughout the world. 

Unfortunately, it is sad to witness the clear lack of journalistic etiquette from certain newspapers in their research in favour of political propaganda in pursuit of whatever objective they are so obsessed over. 

The Imperial Household deeply regrets that some newspaper throughout the world remains helplessly locked into a regrettable vision of a Luthori locked into the 19th century. 

As a matter of fact, if the newspapers in question had been a little interest in pursuing real journalism – they would have known that no Luthorian monarch ever since the start of the modern era has required to need to use nannies – or any other personal to take care of their children.

The baseless claim that Luthorian monarch lack critical thinking skill or are faced with bad-decision making will not get a statement – as this ridiculous claim doesn’t even hold out on its own.

When asked whether the Luthorian Emperor had the intention of pressing charges against the newspaper – which became a potential scenario in that case, the spokesperson stated that “No. His Majesty, while he’s insulted and deeply hurts by these false claims will not press charges in an Egelian court – as he respects the free press.” 

The Egelian paper’s claim also opened a small debate about the usage of nannies for the education of children from the imperial family – when asked about this, the Palace jokingly responded on social media through one of his spokesperson: “If we really used nannies, don’t you think that the republican left and the anti-monarchy newspapers wouldn’t have discovered the whole thing and basically used it as ammunition against the monarchy? Nah, they’d have.” 

This crisis has the potential of throwing the relationship between Luthori and Egelion into chaos, as while both governments haven’t released any kind of statement in this affair – Prime Minister Cameron Seddon described the comments on the imperial family as “greatly disturbing”, the Foreign Secretary Lord Stanley has expressed the wish of “having a written apology from Iconico towards His Majesty” but has expressed unwillingness at escalating the affair further - “except if needed, of course” he said. 

In its final remarks, the Palace stated that “those kinds of comments do not belong in any serious newspaper, they belong in the gutter press.”

Seddon deposed from the Premiership; Huffington appointed as Prime Minister by the Emperor.

Following the disappointing performance of the Conservative Party in the 5704 elections – Prime Minister Seddon’s political capital has been totally spent, the Prime Minister now finding himself in a difficult political situation – as the main representative of the mainstream conservative faction within the Conservative Party, the Prime Minister was neither pleasing his right nor his left – both of whom openly begun to whisper calls for his resignation. 

But the Prime Minister – after once again reshuffling his Cabinet in July, stated that he would remain as head of government and party leader – openly defying any opponents to challenge in a bitter leadership election. 

Unfortunately for him – the current status quo couldn’t remain, following the House of Peers’ rejection of the government’s reformed pension bill, following a revolt in the House of Peers from Conservative peers and while the House of Peers didn’t reject the Bill, it has nonetheless been delayed by the peers – unable of being debated in the upper house. 

This gridlock led to Foreign Secretary Stanley resigning from the Cabinet – in his stead, the Prime Minister appointed Matthew Baker as Foreign Secretary, a veteran MP from Shipleyriding. Baker was then revealed to have involved with an insider trading scheme on MABC shares at the Fort William Stock Exchange. Following this – the Prime Minister was attacked from both his left and his right and many high-ranking Tory MPs called for his resignation. Foreign Secretary Baker resigned as both MP and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs three days after his appointment – replaced by technocrat and veteran diplomat, Sir Alfred Johnson, after numerous Tory MPs in both the Diet and Peers turned down the role. 

The Prime Minister tried to secure his control over the parliamentary party by requesting to now former Foreign Secretary Lord Stanley to take over the role as Leader of the House of Peers, a position that the former foreign secretary – seemingly unwilling to tie himself to a sinking ship, turned down two days later. Constitutional Tory MP, Paul May announced on November 11th that he was running for the party’s leadership – having secured enough support within the party to force the 5302 Committee to act on his behalf and organise an emergency leadership election. 

Compared to usual leadership elections, held every 5 years, an emergency election only sees MPs from both Houses of Parliament being able to vote. 

Following May’s announcement, he was followed by Patrick Simon who argued that it was “time for a true conservative alternative at Crown Street”. This three-way race soon turned into a two-way race – as Prime Minister Seddon, following his meeting with Emperor William XI announced his resignation as both Prime Minister of Luthori and Leader of the Conservative Party,  

This announcement was then followed by a statement from the Palace which stated that the Stephen Young, Lord Huffington was appointed as Prime Minister by His Imperial Majesty. While a member of the Conservative Party; the Lord Huffington seems to establish himself as a caretaker minister until the next leader of the Conservative Party is chosen by his peers. 

Lord Huffington was received by His Majesty the Emperor at his country estate of Hosbury House – being officially named as Prime Minister. According to concording reports – Emperor William was adviced the nomination of the Lord Huffington by outgoing Prime Minister Seddon. 

As he left Crown Street – the now ex-Prime Minister has stated that he would “remain an MP, dedicating at representing my [his] constituents, now that I am [he was] free from the machinations of power” - seemingly hinting at a potential highly important role within the next administration and future Conservative politics. 

Prime Minister Seddon’s legacy is mixed – on one hand, conservative praises his committment to defence modernisation and his active in foreign diplomatic circles – specifically with his near-unanimous praised intervention in New Verham, on the other hand, many Tories resents the lack of effort from the government in many levels, specifically security, budget responsibility, deficit slashing. 

John Spencer, a political columnist at the Times, said that “His [Seddon’s] legacy is as follows: the left hates his guts for having handed to them yet another Tory victory and the right don’t like him because he wasn’t conservative enough.” 

The 5705 Conservative leadership election is due to happen in December 5705 – with even more candidates entering the race.

Luthori’s Imperial Arts Museum confirmed that following “long and drawn-out negotiations” between Luthorian and Yeudi diplomats over the course of two years, Luthori’s Holy Gem was to be returned to its homeland - “as soon as possible”, according to the IAM’s Director. 

Yishelem’s Arboutit sent an offer to Fort William two years earlier, asking for the return of the Holy Gem – in exchange for the House of Orange-Villayn-Armstead retaining ownership over it. Furthermore – following the return of the gem in Yeudi collection, a special section in Yishelem’s Archaic Museum would be built, celebrating Luthorian and Luthorian-Yeudi cultural heritage on the Holy Land. 

An interesting proposal which quickly got interested Luthori’s current gem keepers, the Imperial Arts Museum. The gem having been transferred from the Luthorian Museum of History to the Imperial Arts Museum as part of a transfer for a long-term expo in 5702. Following His Imperial Majesty’s personal blessing – representatives from the Imperial Household, on behalf of the Imperial Household Ministry begun negotiations with Yeudi representatives over the gem’s return to the Holy Land. 

In line with the original proposal – His Imperial Majesty’s representatives agreed in principle with the return of the Holy Gem in some capacity to Yishelem’s care. They nonetheless stressed His Majesty’s unwillingness to “sell” the gem to the Yeudis, citing its “particular status” in Luthorian cultural history and the fact that Luthori held the gem for far longer than Amudim or its predecessor states did. 

Emperor William’s representatives agreed to the following agreement – Luthori would “lease” the Holy Gem to the Yishelem Archaic Museum for an indefinite period – in exchange for the cession of 27.5% of the revenues gathered from the Museum’s Luthorian section to the House of Orange-Villayn's personal finances itself. 

This agreement – while ceding the gem, also provides for the return of the gem to Luthori at any moment, for a temporary period, if demanded by the Imperial Household. That does mean that at the request of the Imperial Household – the Holy Gem can be used at Coronations and other state events. 

This agreement was agreed upon yesterday when representatives from both parties signed the agreement related to the cession of the Holy Gem to Yishelem at the Richardian-era Palace of Whitepoll. On behalf of Emperor William XI – the agreement was signed by Imperial Household Minister and Lord Privy Seal, Lord Randolph Marvin, 3rd Earl of Winchester. 

The agreement was praised on some side – but also criticised on the other. HPP Leader, Richard Sykes-Powell criticised the agreement as an “unequal agreement, ceding a part of Luthorian history for nothing in return”, far-right nationalists have called on social media for a “patriotic march” in Fort William to protest the agreement – on the other side, government and left-wing opposition reactions have been positive, although for different reasons. 

“The strength of Luthori-Amudim relations provided for the creation of an agreement which respects the history of both parties and addressed their needs.” said the Prime Minister, Lord Huffington on social media – defending the agreement through the strength of bilateral Luthori-Amudim relations, which provided, according to government officials, an “equal agreement”. 

According to the Luthorian Imperial Art Museum in Fort William, the Luthorian gem will be transferred to Yishelem in March.

“Dark Horse” Brown elected as Tory leader – appointed as Leader in the Imperial Diet as Huffington is confirmed as PM in agreement.

At the surprise of many – it was not the more established candidates, those with a high support base within the Conservative Party that ultimately secured the necessary votes to become leader – no, instead it was little-known Conservative MP for Clamfeld East that ultimately secured the confidence of his peers to become Leader of the Conservative Party. 

Mr. Brown, 64, was originally set to become Luthori’s Prime Minister, replacing the Lord Huffington, appointed in this position by Emperor William XI on an interim basis. But, according to the Evening Post, current Prime Minister Huffington shall remain in office while Mr. Brown takes up the leadership of the Imperial Diet. Lord Huffington, while remaining as Prime Minister also became the Leader of the House of Peers in his interim basis – with reports stating that the Prime Minister might cede the office to former Foreign Secretary Lord Stanley – who resigned from the third Seddon ministry before its ultimate collapse. 

The reason why Mr. Brown was able to defeat more established and popular candidates such as Mr. May or Mr. Simon was because of his lack of ties to the outgoing Conservative administration – which disappointed a lot of Tory MPs in both Houses of Parliament and his lack of ties with far-right organisations which damaged Mr. Simon’s course for the Conservative leadership. 

With Mitchell Brown as Leader of the Conservative Party, it seems that the Tories are drifting further away from Seddon’s style of leadership – distant, pragmatic but also damaging the party’s core ideals and support, which cost him dearly in the last election cycle, towards a more “unapologetic form” of conservatism in governance – while him and Prime Minister Huffington loyalties lies to different factions – with Brown being close with Lord Ashen’s Conservative Public Debate Group in the House of Peers and Huffington de facto leading the “Constitutionalist Conservative Group” in the House of Peers – both men agreed on the “necessity” of “restore credibility to the party” as incoming poll numbers suggests that the Tories will be defeated by Labour – if the election was held today. 

Prime Minister Huffington addressed his remarks related to the Tory leadership contest – saying that his agreement with Mr. Brown was “unprecedented” and “a testament to the strength of our parliamentary democracy” - Lord Huffington will become the first unelected Prime Minister, sitting in the House of Peers in over a century – a move which sparked outrage from the left, which immediately called for his resignation and the appointment of a Prime Minister from the Diet. 

“It is unbearable to see, in the 58th century, the Tories still holding on to these kinds of political manoeuvres to keep power in the hands of a very few. We’ll obviously ask the House to immediately remove its confidence to this shameful and illegitimate government.” said Left Party Diet Leader, Sophia Wendell to NLB News today. 

“Luthori’s Tories fall deeper into total anarchy as unelected Lord becomes illegitimate Prime Minister, the slow death of Luthorian democracy?” - said the Guardian in its latest article. 

It is nonetheless likely that the new Prime Minister shall survive this test in the Imperial Diet - as the Hosian People's Party expressed "willingness" to "engage in trustworthy and honest negotiations" with the new Conservative-led administration, maybe signifying a new coalition agreement in the making?

Lord Huffington met with Emperor William XI who confirmed his status as his Prime Minister, cementing the agreement between him and Mr. Brown as a fact of life – and the Palace confirmed the Emperor's "full confidence upon his Prime Minister to navigate the troubled waters of parliamentary governance" and expressed confidence at "institutions backed by norms and values for the last three millenia to continue to engage themselves in an open and thoughful political debates" .

Following the dramatic resignation of Kerry Slaughter, former Kalistani ambassador to Luthori – his comments on his “meetings” with Emperor William XI left the Palace puzzled, with a statement being released following the comments from Kalistani Foreign Minister, Sir Thomas Harrey on the grounds of Mr. Slaughter’s resignation from his diplomatic mission in Luthori. 

In Kalistan, unofficial reasoning is that Mr. Slaughter resigned due to his “agreement with the Egelian estimation of the acuity of the Luthorian Monarchy” - not only did this estimation from the Iconico tabloid got a severe response from the Palace, but it also triggered the King of Egelion to formally apologise to His Majesty – in a letter later published by Egelian and Luthorian news outlets. 

For Their Majesties’ press secretary, Sir Thomas Hull – these accusations are “nothing new” and “once again demonstrate some people’s unfortunate beliefs in unfortunate pieces of lies and deceit that some try to argue is an accurate representation of a four-thousand year old institution”, he moreover stated that it was “more shocking that a foreign diplomat once in service in Luthori endorsed these claims”. 

Hull addresed some of the foreign minister’s comments – with the state official notably stating that Mr. Slaughter found the “conversations with the Emperor to be tedious to the point of insult”, the press secretary simply said that “people might have their own opinions on their reports to foreign dignitaries in the nation that they represent – unfortunately, most of the time, diplomats, even retired, refrain from using such inflammatory language – and worse, the head of the ministry of foreign affairs of such nation would also refrain from using the same tone that was used here – except if wishing to create a diplomatic incident.” 

In addition, he said that “audiences, contrary to what the Kalistani Foreign Minister’s statement might say with His Imperial Majesty are rare, an extraordinary occurence that isn’t granted on all occasions.” He also stated that official documentation states that former Ambassador Slaughter only met with His Majesty on three separate occasions – the first being following the passing of the late Emperor Richard II, where His Majesty met with foreign ambassadors who each expressed solemn solidarity with Luthori, the second during a 30-minute audience in 5703 and finally on the Official State Dinner in September 5704. When asked about his thoughts about Mr. Harrey’s comments about these feelings being “widespread” within Kalistan’s foreign ministry – Mr. Hull simply said that it was “disappointing” and “distasteful for a respected ministry of foreign affairs to step so low as to have false viewpoints about a nation that they had never seen, and about people they would never see.” 

This sharp tone in response to Mr. Harrey’s comments on the grounds of Mr. Slaughter’s resignation from his post in Luthori – coupled from its earlier response to the allegations from the Iconico tabloid in relation to the House of Orange-Villayn seem to point out towards a far more active Palace communication field – rather than the mostly passive Palace’s communication in relations to scandals surrounding His Late Majesty, Emperor Richard II’s reign. While the Emperor himself and his extended family remain silent on most matters, the Palace’s communication services instead repond here. 

Finally, in matters related to the letter from the Egelian monarch, published by the NLB in its 8pm news – the Palace stated that “His Imperial Majesty and Her Imperial Majesty are pleased at the kind letter from His Majesty, the King of Egelion and have expressed a shared sentiment of gratitude from the genuine letter of apology – on behalf of some rogue actors in his nation from His Majesty. Their Majesties are equally hoping to visit the Kingdom of Egelion in the near future, so as to reassure ancestral ties existing between the two royal families.” in a statement later released to the press.

The Alchester Motor Company and Luthorian automobile as a whole – has been suffering from the decline in demand from domestic and international consumers on new vehicles – according to the reports from the City Journal, automobile exports have seen an unprecedented shrinking period throughout the last decade. Luthorian automobile exports have been cut by 12.5% over this period. This sharp decrease in exports led to a period of reflection – that led to the modern day.

That move from the sole focus on the producting of thermic vehicles to the more equal distribution of the production focus towards electric and hybrid vehicles seems to be encouraged by the lack of profitability coming from thermic vehicles in this new century. Throughout the world, nations now engage themselves in green transition – aiming at creating an economy which is as “respectful of the environment and its challenges as possible” - this shift from a fossil fuel-dominated economy to a more green-focused economy was seen through Lodamun’s recent Green Compact policy. 

These changes have also impacted Luthori – whose politicians are now talking about “oil overreliance” and have overall adopted an anti-fossil fuel position, former Prime Minister Cameron Seddon’s comments on the coal industry have left scars over this community – with the former head of government calling the industry “outdated”, while no politicians have dared going against the oil industry in which Luthori plays a big role as an intermediary between oil-exporting states and importers through the Luthorian shipping industry.

With AMC’s now focusing to an increase of the production of electric cars by 33% by 5715  – a bet has been placed on the reinvigoration of the current automobile market from its decline, specifically the wider international market, while Luthori is one of the largest domestic markets – the main focus of these companies have been beyond the borders of the Empire. 

With the announcement of the new fully electric SUV - the imposant Gallagher – the AMC aims at winning a place in this growingly important market of electric vehicles, a field where Luthorian corporations have mostly been absent due to their own misplaced hubris about the competitiveness of the diesel vehicles.  

The Gallagher is a five-seat SUV, provided with an electric motor – a motor autonomy of 657 km (or 408 mil) and costing around £49.250 upon release. Hailed as an “pinnacle of Luthorian automobile genius” by AMC CEO – it has been bet upon its success by high-ranking corporate leaders to start a “new era” for the company. AMC eyes the modest objective of 38.000 sales by next year – unsure of the success of its new product domestically and internationally.
