Luthori marks landmark 57th Century with celebrations across the Realm.

Fort William, Luthori - Dawn set in the Empire as today marks the first day of the year Five-Thousand-Six-Hundred, and also, the first day of the 57th century. As the Luthorian Empire celebrates the beginning of this new century, some changes took place in the country before that date. Politically, Luthori experienced a change in governance some years ago, as the Government of the Lord Southpton has collapsed in a vote of no-confidence as his shaky coalition composed of the Conservative Party, the Liberals and the Hosian Democrats collapsed under the weight of the pressure caused by the difference of ideologies between the Liberal Party, who has embraced a more liberal and progressive direction under the leadership of Mrs. Alexandra Koehler and Chloe Larinovna, both descendents of immigrants families who steered the Liberal Party towards a less amicable position in regards to both the Tories and HDA's seemingly "uncompromising" stance on conservatism. Both party leaders also stood against the Government in numerous occasions in Parliament, frequently joining the Opposition in crucial votes and creating ties with the National Labour Party. 

Meanwhile, the Hosian Democrats seems to have increasingly became more affiliated with the Conservatives as both parties recently signed a "Co-Operation" agreement, which means that the HDA lawmakers would receive the financial backing of the Tories and not see any Conservative or Conservative-backed candidate in their constituencies. While this agreement is meant to acheive some form of stability in the right, it only showed the increasing influence of the "ideological right" within the Party, as, due, in part to the collapse of the Holy Land's government into anarchy after an ill-fated decision to send a nuclear warhead towards the capital of Xsampa, Metz-Leonid, the right-wing of the Conservatives, eager for the "reconquest" of the Holy Land has begun to take up leadership roles in the Party, with the Senator/Lord Stephen Wilkinson, Earl of Williamsbrough taking over the position as Conservative Senate Leader. The Tories also scored a big victory in the Senate with Camilla Morgan, heiress to the Dukedom of Morvenshire taking over as the first "Lady" Speaker of the Senate.

In the other side, in the Imperial Diet, due to repeated tensions within the Coalition, the Liberals announced unilaterally that they were leaving that said coalition, announcing that they would support the Opposition in a vote of no-confidence against the Lord Southpton's Cabinet, which at that time, had effectively collapsed. The vote passed as expected and the Prime Minister tendered his resignation to the Empress, who then appointed, as per with tradition, a member of the Privy Council was appointed as the Prime Minister, that member was the Privy Counsellor Sir Gustav Ekdahl who was appointed as Prime Minister by the Empress, with the expectation to run a "cohesive, moderate and reassuring" administration before the general elections that were decided after the prorogation and subsequent dissolution of Parliament.

As expected, the Tories scored a decisive victory and were likely to form a new administration, alone. With the Liberals having been thrown into the opposition and the HDA firmly in the Conservative side, the Party's big names gathered to choose their new leader and submit a name to the Empress to appoint as Prime Minister, as she called them to the Palace for "consultation" purposes. The name that came out was the name of the infamous Lord Northminster, one of the oldest and most powerful members of the House of Hamilton and ex-officio, one of the most powerful members of the Tory Party's right-wing, Sir Timothy Hamilton III, Duke of Northminster who was asked by the Empress to form a government in her name on Hallowtide Day 5599.

With the Cabinet expected to be revealed on the month of March, the interim government has been asked to proceed with their duties as usual, as the Prime Minister changed in order to avoid any "cataclysmic" ramifications that may come with the appointment of a more right-wing government than the one who just got overthrown by the previous Parliament. Already changes are being seen with the confirmation of the Earl of Williamsbrough as Conservative Senate Leader and the appointment of Sir Richard O'Brallaghan as Conservative House Leader. Names are already flooding out as the Cabinet of the Lord Northminster is currently being formed. With issues all around the world, the appointment of figures of the Party may have an influence on the Luthorian Government's policy towards the Questions of the Day, such as the policy to have towards the collapsing Moledet Medinat or the recent Xsampan tragedy.

All and all, the Luthorian people seems pretty optimistic towards this new century as the last one was filled with some difficulties towards the end.

Incoming Northminster Admin. condemns Yishelem; pledges billions of aid towards Xsampa.

fFort William, Luthori - The Lord Northminster's Administration has recently came out against Yishelem's actions in the war that opposed it to Xsampa. The Luthorian Foreign Ministry today released a short memorandum on the Luthorian Government's opinion over the nuking of Xsampa's capital city, Metz-Leonid. The statement released was as follows:

"The gravity of the situation in the Democratic Republic of Xsampa is of the most concerning to the Government of Luthori.

Indeed, for the first time ever since incidents in the 5th millennium, nuclear warheads were used in warfare and targeted civilian sites over military ones.

Due to this, the Xsampan capital of Metz-Leonid, Xsampa's entire government apparatus and over 5 millions souls were taken away from this Earth without proper notice.

May this be a reminder of the cruelty and inhumane nature of nuclear warheads. Her Majesty's Government can only condemn the rash and irresponsible decision from the Yeudi Homeland's Government, which seems to have driven such Homeland into the abyss.

HM Government stands in solidarity with the Xsampan people in the face of such a tragedy and is ready to offer humanitarian aid as soon as possible."

Prime Minister expresses "worries" about Likatonia as country threatens to collapse.

Fort William, Luthori - Prime Minister Hamilon, Lord Northminster, expressed, through a short communication from his office, all of Luthori's "concern" and "worries" about the current situation in Likatonia. Indeed, recently, the National Democratic Party orchestrated a coup d'état against its arch-rival, President Mendelev's government. Apparently this was after the President enacted emergency powers that he vested upon himself, something that the NDP viruently protested against. With the President dead and an interim administration led by the NDP being put in place, the Prime Minister's Office back in Luthori has reacted after previously stating that they were "closely monitoring the situation [in Likatonia]", the Duke of Northminster seems to have decided towards a statement which remains wary, yet in the same time, quite dissapointed.

The Inquirer was the first newspaper to have received the statement, which goes as follows.

"After closely monitoring the situation, Her Majesty's Government is advocating for calm and steady leadership in Likatonia after the recent coup. Her Majesty's Government also condemns all political sides of the Likatonian political establishment for failing to come with a necessary compromise for the well-being of the Likatonian people.

HM Government reiterates previous calls for restraint and for the country's political scene remains headed by cooler heads.

The statement didn't said anything about potential Luthorian direct intervention, as the Prime Minister most likely wanted to draw the Luthorian response towards. A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry didn't ruled out any Luthorian direct intervention in the conflict, more likely as an intermediary and mediator between both sides if things "ever got out of hand" quickly. 

For numerous analysts, Likatonia has been entering a period of decline ever since the opening of its political scene and their seen collusion with the fascist regime in Kasaema, as the National Democrats remains committed to their Kundrati attachment, with the former President and now self-appointed President of Likatonia, having been jailed for having corrupted by the Kundratis in hope to draw the NDP more closely to the Kundrati criminal regime. With her in charge of the country, it seems that Mendelev's efforts to mend relations with the Anantonese Empire are likely to either get bugged down in unnecessary paperwork and bureaucratic hurdles or are going to be reverted down entierly.

As for Luthori-Likatonian relations, nothing is certain, but it seems that the new Likatonian administration's opinion of Kundrati may draw some eyebrows of suspicions in Fort William.

Lord Northminster forms first administration.

Fort William, Luthori - In an expected announcement from Crown Street, the Prime Minister, Lord Northminster has announced the names of the people that would be apart of his incoming administration, already the names have been submitted to the Empress for approval and official nomination to their respective cabinet offices. The Prime Minister hasn't gone against the expectations that the incoming administration would be one which would draw its ideology more on the right side of the political spectrum. The last Cabinet meeting of the incumbent administration, that of the now-former Prime Minister, Sir Gustav Ekdahl, has been of thanks towards all ministers that the Prime Minister is going to replace. Thanking them for the service towards the Realm and Nation, the Ekdahl-Northminster Interim Ministry hereby was dissolved by the Lord President of the Privy Council [ex officio Prime Minister].

In its replacement was appointed the Northminster Ministry, a cabinet which enjoys the full backing of both the Imperial Diet and the Senate, although the former was much harder to secure than the latter. The incoming administration is seeing big names entering the Cabinet, most notably with a new foreign minister, the infamous conservative pundit colluding with Luthorian nationalists and interventionists in the Luthorian Government, Sir Arthur Sunderland, who has been appointed as Foreign Secretary in the Lord Northminster's very first administration, signalling a more "hawkish" turn of events for Luthorian diplomacy. Though, it should notified that, apart from this nomination, the Cabinet of the Lord Northminster is surprisingly moderate in its composition, the Prime Minister has appointed at least 13 women in high government offices, such as the Office of the Home Secretary, where Ms. Audrey Wilmers was appointed to the position. While a commissioner and close to the police, she's reasonably moderate enough to work with the Department of Justice on issues to tackle.

For the Conservatives, the appointment of 13 women in the Cabinet, and the diversity of the Cabinet, with numerous ministers coming out of different cultures than Luthorian only, such as the Minister for the Imperial Luthorian Navy, Ganesh Kusari, the first civilian to hold that position in a Conservative administration, who normally appoints retired military officials in hopes of creating bigger understanding with the Armed Forces. While he's the first civilian, he's also a Rajutti-Luthorian holding that office, a rare sight that has been welcomed by associations defending the rights of minorities in Luthori. A key player in the Government is the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Juan Jose Santander, the very first non-Luthorian born to hold a cabinet office in a sitting Tory administration, as Mr. Santander is an Egelian-Luthorian who was born in Egelion and then left the nation towards Luthori to continue his studies, he then settled in Luthori indefinitely.

These nominations seems to be signalling a change of opinion within the Conservative Party in regards to immigration as the increasing number of high-ranking Tories descending from immigration may signal a change in Tory attitude towards immigration, maybe a hint towards the enactment and passing of an Act which would effectively lower the requires for an immigrant to enter Luthori. Regardless of its future policies, the Northminster Administration is already known for being one of the most hawkish and most conservative cabinet that this country ever saw.

Fort William, Luthori - In the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Mordusia, and with the appointment of the Northminster Administration back in Luthori, the Government was scrambling for an appropriate response towards these events. Tragically, the Governor-General of Mordusia, Sir William Becker is to be counted upon the numerous deaths caused by this "cowardly and wrong" terrorist attack. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Sir Arthur Sunderland KC, released a statement committing Luthori towards the defence of its ally and "brother nation" in Southern Seleya, while also condemning strongly the Aldurian government for "colluding with terrorists", for now, the Aldurians haven't reacted to the Foreign Secretary's statements, but other nations have. Kanjor has announced supporting any actions that would be undertaken by both the Luthorians and Mordusians in response to these attacks, with the Kanjorians becoming increasingly likely to ally up with the Luthorians to overthrown the rogue Aldurian government.

Meanwhile, the Defence Secretary has announced that the Mordusian Task Force sent in 5559, will see reinforcements coming from the wider Southern Fleet, as Luthori looks increasingly likely to transfer the entire Southern Fleet towards Mordusia and its Mordusian base. Likewise, the Luthorians are becoming increasingly eager to expand their naval capabilities into the Anantonese Ocean, where critical trading routes are passing by, although relations with the Anantonese Empire must be preserved. Prime Minister Northminster is looking towards organising a state visit from Luthori towards Egelion, Dankuk and Kanjor, the two former have already seen Luthorian state visits before and these talks are likely to just continue the trend towards building a positive and working relationship with all states bordering the Anantonese Ocean, while the former may become necessary if war breaks out in Alduria, as the sole representative of the Canrillaise Empire still active.

The Imperial Luthorian Army has already announced the sending of a expeditionnary force of 15.000 servicemen and women towards Mordusia in order to help the Royal Mordusian Army to begin the invasion. The Army is expected for its size to increase to over 30.000 in the case that an actual invasion happen. The Air Force also send 5 squadrons towards Mordusia and collaborated with the Navy as with the sending of the Carrier Strike Group 'Elizabeth' with the Southern Fleet.

Alongside the instability in Likatonia, it seems that Luthorian interventions are only beginning.

Parliament Passes "Sea of Lost Souls Resolution Act"; intervening in Aldurian War.

The Prime Minister looking pleased as he steps out of Parliament after the vote of the "SoLS Resolution Act".

Fort William, Luthori - Parliament recently passed the "Sea of Lost Souls Resolution Law", a law which aims at empowering the Luthorian Government's abilities to directly intervene in the Aldurian conflict ongoing. Parliamentary debates over this resolution were expeditive, as both sides of political spectrum (Labour, Conservatives) agreed over an increased commitment of Luthorian troops which were deployed in the area. The Bill was also jointly passed with the "Mordusian Expeditionary Force Command Structure Elaboration Act", an Act, as its name says, which aims at creating an independent command structure for the Luthorian forces deployed in Mordusian soil. The content of this Bill was reluctantly agreed upon by the Imperial Luthorian Army, which feared that the centralised command at the Citadel be negatively affected by this Act, even if the Prime Minister constantly tried to reassure the defence officers about the necessity of that drift from the usual centralisation policy over the command structure.

While he did his best, the Chief of Defence Staff was notoriously unpleased by the whole situation, shown during the press conference where the CoDS, while answering to questions asked by journalists, couldn't bring himself to not issue both a frown and a sigh when the Command Structure Elaboration Act was brought to the questions panel. Regardless of his complicated feelings about the matter, the press later remarked that the Chief of the Defence Staff - while now having a more strained relationship with the Northminster Ministry - answered questions with a largely neutral or even pro-government stance, remarking that the Army had 'nothing to do with politics and never will involve herself in politics'.

Parliament passed the Act on the very next morning, empowering the Government to begin preparations for the construction of an independent command for the Luthorian forces present in Mordusia, something that will likely become ever more important with the passing of the Resolution Act.

The Resolution Law is an Act put forward by Conservative MD (Member of the Imperial Diet), George Collin Halloway. Mr. Halloway's proposal came forward at the insistence of Foreign Secretary Sutherland, who looked forward towards having a full parliamentary backing over a potential direct Luthorian intervention to Mordusia, as he promised to the Mordusian Prime Minister, XXXX and the Governor-General, Prince Louis. As stated earlier in this article, debates about this Resolution in the lower house were expeditive, as both major political parties found themselves in agreement about Luthorian policy in regards to Mordusia. Both the Prime Minister, Lord Northminster (Tory) and the Leader of the Opposition, Zoey Hutchinson (Labour), in their responsibilities as Party leaders instructed party whips to gather party support for the Resolution, and to sideline any dissenting voices about the Bill. Senator Bill Casey (LAB-ORA-5) voiced his "full-hearted" support for the Bill, which was to be expected from the Senate Minority Leader (Shadow Leader of the Imperial Senate), in the other side, opponents to the Bill were few and disorganised, but Green MD, Alicia Wu Yeo-Jin, stated in an interview with Parliament Unchecked (an LBC television show usually conducting 1-hour long interviews of MPs), that she was "personally" opposed to a Bill which would mean sending troops to die in Alduria, but also recognized Luthori's "moral obligation" to come at her ally's aid. While she would voting against due to personal beliefs, she isn't specifically calling that Bill by other names than what it is.

The Imperial Diet passed the Bill which a large majority of 514-7-4 (514 ayes, 7 nay, 4 abstentions), and the Bill was sent to the Senate for debate, at the upper house, the debate was even more quick than in the lower one. The Senate passed the Bill by a large majority of 467-2-31 (467 ayes, 2 nays, 31 abstentions), the Sovereign granted it Royal Assent by the next day. With the Bill being passed, the Prime Minister has expressed his pleasure at having the "full capacity" of directing Luthori's armed forces to Alduria, in order to collaborate with the ongoing Mordusian invasion of the country. A note from the Foreign Office was passed down to Mordusia's embassy to Luthori, stating that the Luthorian Government, had, by this Act, formally entered the Aldurian War in Mordusia's side.

Prime Minister Hamilton announced to Parliament the decision the next day during a session of the Prime Minister's Questions. Parliament then passed the "Declaration of War of the Holy Luthorian Empire Upon the Aldurian State", which passed with a resounding majority in both Houses. While non-binding to the Government, this Act showed Parliamentary support for the Government's actions, something that is needed in times of great strife. The Mordusian Prime Minister has for his part, congratulated Luthori upon entering the fray with their "comrades" on the other side of the Ocean, Mr. XXXX seemed very pleased at the prospect of Luthorian and Mordusian troops collaborating together to topple the rogue regime in Alduria. The Citadel indicated that the Navy had begun working towards a total blockade of Alduria, with the aim of avoiding any form of arms shipments being transported to the country. Luthorian ground forces are currently moving into Aldurian territory to take up positions along the frontlines.

With Parliament on his side and the Government united, the Prime Minister made Luthori's entrance in the Aldurian War decisively doom the Aldurians' chance, if there was any, towards victory.

Egelian Monarch received in Fort William for State Visit; EcoDpt expects "good, mutually-beneficial" deals.

Fort William, Luthori - The King of Egelion, Amadeo and the Queen of Egelion, Alicia (known as Alice in Luthori - her birth country) have recently visited the Empire as part of a wider international tour meant to increase the Kingdom's international outreach by reaching out to nations such as Kalistan, Dundorf, Luthori and even more surprisingly, Dorvik as well. Most of the tour's reception has been positive around the World, the King and Queen representing a "new" couple, glamorous and good-looking, their charm hasn't passed unnoticed in all countries that they've stopped by. For the Queen, this visit to Luthori was one of "reconnection", according to communications from a spokesperson of the Orange Palace, who stated that the Queen hasn't "stepped foot in Luthori ever since her marriage to King Amadeo", this trip was meant to be one where the Queen could finally meet out with her family and extended family here in Luthori.

The royal couple arrived in Fort William by plane, being received by the Foreign Secretary after leaving their plane at the Sourfam Airport, a private airport usually used by members of the Government or the imperial family. The three then engaged to go towards Darlington Hall, where the King was expected to be received by the Luthorian Parliament to make a speech before all Luthorian lawmakers. Insiders stated that this speech was meant to draw parliamentary support towards increased economic ties between Luthori and Egelion, questioned Egelian political analysts stated that the King "must have been quite stressed by the results of his speech", as while he is known as a known public speaker, usually making speeches during his visits and in Egelion domestically, the King's 'lackluster' Luthorian "must have been a worry for both the royal house, the Queen and the King himself.", according to Joseph Panadero, a specialist on foreign domestic politics and a known observer of foreign politics. Arriving at Darlington Palace, they met with the Speaker of the Imperial Diet, the Lord Speaker of the Imperial Senate and were brought to the Hall, where all Luthorian parliamentarians were present, Senators and Representatives alike.

There the King made his speech, focused around Luthori and Egelion's commonalities such as their shared monarchical status, which drew eyebrows from some [republican-minded] lawmakers, mostly members of the National Labour Party, albeit in the more radical wings of the Party. Regardless, the King continued his speech ment to draw support for increased Luthori-Egelian ties, by speaking of future economic cooperation and how that said cooperation would bring positive changes to both Luthori and Egelion. While the speech was commented to be "good", many analysts couldn't help but state the issues that the King found himself facing when writing the speech, Luthori and Egelion have few contacts traditionally, as both countries are far away from each other, do not even speak the same language and do not have any historical and/or cultural ties to base their relation on. Luthori and Egelion only developed a sense of interest in one another thanks to the marriage of the King [Amadeo] with the Queen [Alicia], a sense of interest which was emboldened by the Royal couple's visit in Luthori.

The King then, was invited to one-to-one meetings with both the Luthorian Prime Minister and the Luthorian Foreign Secretary, Queen Alicia was also present to both of these meetings to make negotiations run smoother than they should have if she wasn't there to act as an interpreter for the King and Prime Minister. The monarch and government officials' meetings most focused around economic deals between Luthori and Egelion, while also passing by some international events of keen interest for the King, such as the War in Alduria where the Luthorians only recently intervened into. The Prime Minister and Foreign Secretary both reassured the monarch that the Luthorians and Mordusians' aim in this War was to "restore a constitutional, democratic and respected" government in Alduria, sort of "turning back the clock" if you will. The Prime Minister stated that Luthori had "zero interest" into installing a monarch of its own in Alduria, as some Luthorian nationalists called for, although the Foreign Secretary was much more silent, yet ultimately supportive of the Prime Minister's position on the question.

What was agreed is simple, the Luthorian and Egelian Governments would begin working towards decreasing tariffs for each other's goods over the course of the next decade, according to the Department of the Economy, that agreement would be a "necessary" first-step towards the total loosening of tariffs between Egelion and Luthori in a later date. The Luthorians plans that in "at least 15 to 20 years", Luthori and Egelion would be "in shape" to sign a comprehensive free-trade agreement. Luthori also agreed to begin a program of sizeable investments into Egelion. The Department of the Treasury announced that a first investment package of £14.3 billion from Luthori to Egelion would be invested into Egelian infrastructure, transport, its booming tourism, music industries as a starter. Other industries are expected to see investments over the course of the next few years. Fort William is hoping to prop up Egelion's development in the hopes of securing an ally in the Anantonese region, a region where Luthori has been traditionally absent. Yet, this aid do not come without its cost, in exchange, Luthori requested that Luthorian companies be authorised to compete and thrive in the Egelian market, as the Luthorians are trying to secure a foothold in northern economies such as Baeguk or Egelion.

With this agreement seemingly worked out, there was nothing pressuring the King to not engage in the state dinner organised for him and his wife at the Orange Palace, where they would be meeting Alice's aunt, Empress Katherine, her parents and other family relatives alongside high-ranking members of Luthorian society. The Prime Minister, all Members of the Cabinet, high-ranking members of the Privy Council, Parliament, members of the aristocracy, business class which were carefully choosed by the Orange Palace for the occasion. Before the event begun, the Empress met privately with the King and Queen, holding a private meeting in the Orange Palace, while details of the meeting were not disclosed by the Orange Palace, we can only assume that some talks meant at facilitating the process of both countries towards securing good relations with each other. The State Dinner in itself was a normal affair done by the Luthorians for centuries, protocol was key in this dinner and was meant to bring a good image of Luthori to its esteemed guests.

This visit was stated to be a success overall. Finally, the King and Queen remained at Rottingham Palace alongside the Queen's relatives.

Government launches ambitious administrative digitalisation effort, praised by civil service and economists.

Fort William, Luthori - The Northminster Cabinet has enacted today the start of the 'National Digitalisation Program', also known as 'DigiLut', this program was promised by the Prime Minister upon his arrival at Crown Street and reaffirmed in the Conservatives' manifestoes leading up to the 5604 general elections, which saw an strengthened Tory mandate being swept to power through the polls. Lord Northminster has entrusted the Home Secretary, Audrey Wilmers to build a "comprehensive and extensive program meant at decreasing the civil service's reliance on paper records and to begin the process towards digitalising most of these records for current and future use by civil service employees". Tonight, while exposing the program before Parliament, the Home Secretary considered that her plan was, after months of careful negotiations and studies about that said issue, quite successful in achieving its main aim. According to reports, the Prime Minister was "pleased" with the conclusion and recommendations of the plan crafted by the Secretary.

As stated, the plan was outlined to Parliament during an ordinary session of the Imperial Diet, where usually the Diet sits without the presence of government ministers, as such, due to the low importance of digitalisation for many MPs in their re-election list and the absence of government ministers, most MDs normally sitting in the Diet went in their constituencies or remained in their offices making their work rather than attending this session. Although, it should be noted, that due to the presence of the Home Secretary tonight, some MPs made their way to the chambers and assisted to the session, even though they didn't have much to do there since the subject of digitalisation wasn't their expertise point. 

Mrs. Wilmers presented the Government's vision for a "Safer, Fairer and Quicker Luthori", through the so-called "Wilmers Plan", this plan calls for the total digitalisation of the Luthorian civil service by 5650. In this aim, the Government has already begun working on smaller yet similar projects with the private sector, such projects brought the "National Defence Armament Review, 5605", a total overview, fully digitalised of Luthori's current weaponry production.

"Such projects are the way that this Government sees the process of digitalisation going through", said the Home Secretary.

To lead this program, Prime Minister Hamilton appointed, upon advice from Mrs. Wilmers, Oliver Pandearl, as Government Commissioner for Digitalisation, heading the unvield "Office of Digitalisation Strategy", this office was created to ensure that the Government's program of digitalisation may become a reality without much issues, as this Office was created to create a "permanent link of communication" between the Department of Internal Affairs and the Civil Service, which is going to be the most impacted by these reforms. Fort William is also looking forwards to collaborate with Ducal Administrations to create and handle small-scale digitalisation projects of their own.

In the Senate, Sir Parker Howles stated that the Government's main priority was the creation of a sane and prosperous Home Territory, which they think will be far more achievable with a far-less "bogged down bureaucracy", an assessment which has been shared by many Luthorians and specialists alike.

With no votes being held, the Cabinet was assured to see its policies go through without any opposition, as the Conservatives were regardless going to vote through party lines and agree to the Home Secretary's assessment of the situation and solutions to fix that said situation.

Parliament Passes "Increased Airlines Security and Protection Act", with overwhelming majority.

Fort William, Luthori - Luthori's Parliament passed today, with an overwhelming majority, the Increased Airlines Security and Protection Act, an Act of Parliament aspiring to avoid another air disaster like the one which happened in Shipleyriding back in 5595, when a Beluzian aircraft was hit by a Luthorian air defence missile. In the aftermath of the memorial service in Clamfeld, Parliament passed the "Increased Missile Communication Act", whose aim was to increase communication between the Luthorian Government, foreign partners and the Defence Staff in case that any grand exercise testing Luthorian air defences capabilities were to be undertaken by the Government. The Secretary for Transport, Alex Salmond stated that this Bill was "necessary" to increase security in Luthorian skies for all airplanes passing by Luthori's Home Territory.

The Bill undertakes to reform the Imperial Aviation Security Organisation (IASO) into the Federal Air Security Command (FASC), being tasked with more prerogatives than its formerly-weakened counterpart. The FASC will be the supreme authority regarding airline transportation authority, with an increased budget of over 45 % compared to today and will be completely subjected to the authority to the Department of Transport, as opposed to being subjected to the authority of the Department of Home Affairs like before. The Secretary for Transport enlightened the need for further "centralisation" of all transport-related agencies within the grasp of the Department of Transport, a position which drew ire from the Home Secretary's allies within the Conservative Party and from the Home Secretary himself, who was stated to see with an "disapproving look" the fact that the FASC's supreme authority was being transferred from the Home Affairs to Transport Office.

Regardless of what the Home Secretary may have thought about that issue, the Prime Minister gave his approval to the Transport Secretary to carry on with his reform plan to air security, seemingly agreeing with the reasoning that the Transport Office may be more efficient that the Home Office in order to deal with all transport-related issues, even security issues.

The Bill was introduced in the Imperial Diet by Alex Salmond in his capacity as Member of Parliament for Howshire (Shipleyriding) and co-sponsored by MPs Katherine Howard, Member of the Imperial Diet for Darlington (Fort William) and Patrick Howes, 3rd Viscount Howes (Senate). Both MPs are recongnised as being members of the Tory Party's "One-Nation" Faction, a faction who believes in increased government responsability in both the economy and socially, promoting family and conservative values that other factions of the Party have let cool down to moderate themselves into a more center-right alternative. Compared to other factions, while the One-Nations are represented in the Cabinet with personalities such as the Health, Transport or Defence Secretaries, they are nowhere near other factions' influence within the Party.

After a debate in the Diet, the Speaker called for a vote, which saw an overwhelming majority of Ayes in the first round of voting, a rare sight in Darlington Palace, proof that the Bill was "uncontroversial" according to the Transport Secretary. In the Senate, meanwhile, after the Diet passed the Bill, the Senate passed it with a relative ease, as the Leader of the Imperial Senate and the Prime Minister were both speerheading the debate towards an amicable settlement with the National Labour Party in order to receive their support for the Act. With the law's passage, the Prime Minister congratulated Parliament on a "show of bipartisanism" meant to "better protect Luthorian and foreign citizens passing through Luthori by air transport.

The Opposition reasoned that the Bill was quite "uncontroversial" and was "sufficiently amended", as shown by the low attendance of voting session in both the Diet and Senate. The FASC's first Head was appointed by Letter Patent of the Sovereign in the afternoon, with Richard Crayer taking over as the new FASC chief. He promised that "communication will be the agency's number one priority in avoiding disaster such as the Beluzair".
