Government announces new port expansion project.

Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Svenja Hammerl and representatives from the Dorvish Development Bank announced a 1.2b Dolgar investment into the Dorvish port and maritime trade system over the course of the next 10 years. Infrastructure and Transport Minister Svenja Hammerl announced the project as the Dorvish Consumer Index, which is reported on quarterly. This comes as an uptick in consumer spending as the Dorvish economy recovers from a "malaise" that's lasted the better part of a decade according to representatives from the Dorvish Ministry of Finance.

Several ports around Dorvik, including major cold-weather ports such as Hauzenwald and Schrudehofen will be substantially modernized and expanded. This includes the purchase and replacement of several ice breaker fleets that are operated by the governments of Hauzenwald and Schrudehofen as well as the wider provinces in the area, notably the Provinces of Hauzenwald and Schrudehofen. Modernized port infrastructure will also be introduced in smaller ports throughout Dorvik which service local continental trade.

A major leg of the project will focus on modernizing the Port of Fairfax, the largest continental trade port for the Kingdom of Dorvik with Artania and Eastern Dovani. The focus will be largely expanding the port, introducing new practices and technologies that have been introduced earlier to Hauzenwald and Schrudehofen that have proven successful. While the port projects will be the focus and where the bulk of the funding goes, ancillary projects such as trucking and railway expansions are going to benefit as they look to substantially modernize and upgrade them alongside the ports.
